I had a posse mate propose an interesting theory on the skinny guy. He theorized that skinny guy and camp raids are related. Who knows, just speculation at this point, but I found it interesting, that I've shot the skinny guy, and my camp has been raided. My posse mate has always fed him and has never been raided. And we're both at Max honor.

Since the roles update, money isn't an issue. If you're new and can't afford a role, then money may be tight while you save up for it, doing low paying stranger missions. But that's just paying your dues, and earning your way up. I've never bought gold, and never will. But...I paid my dues, sucked it up and earned my way up, now I have more money than I can spend. If you're worried about a $20 Cripps resupply (10 minutes fyi) then you're doing it wrong. Posse: if people have been in your posse before they can rejoin anytime you have it formed. Unless YOU have too many already, or THEY are affiliated with too many. If someone has more than you, OR is better than you, that means they have no life, and no job. Wow, learned something new today.

Never tested that specific scenario, but I don't think they could. My hypothesis: last night a posse mate shot someone who killed his horse. Player parlayed with the posse. I left the posse to avenge the horse, and I couldn't touch him due to the parlay, even though I didn't shoot him and wasn't in the posse anymore. So I doubt they could attack because they were in the posse when mission started. I am interested in finding out for sure though. I'll test it tonight or tomorrow. I'm intrigued. But..... In addition to that, you don't get money or goods for stealing a wagon. You get a portion of the "materials" . The traitor would still need to produce goods and deliver to make money, putting them even farther behind, when they could have gotten $312 already And.... The chances of that happening are so remote I wouldn't worry. You are FAR, FAR, FAR, more likely to lose your wagon to the biggest wagon thief in the game.....ROCKSTAR.

I shot a 3 star opossum with a small game arrow, as close to the head as you can get on a possum. Turned it into a 1 star. I never use the bow anyways, I just break out the varmint rifle, and the aforementioned situation just made me put the bow in my weapon locker.

No penalty for target for jumping. But you'll spend more than 5 minutes loading in and (maybe) setting up a camp again. I just ride the RR tracks when targeted. Never been caught, and in 5 minutes I get their reward. Although now i hardly ever see it, when I do it's a level 12 or something. Seeing people doing stranger missions is rare since the roles update. I.M.E.
-
The time: well if they make it any longer, then it's really a burden for the target. Your mission is intruding on their time. Any longer and server jumps are guaranteed. I know 5 minutes is about my limit. If they were 10 minutes, I'd just jump lobbies and be back to my business in 2 minutes. Side note: it should only target medium/high hostility players. IMO.

So rockstar DID give me $625 for my lost wagon. I updated the post "5 large wagons stolen by rockstar" with the email from rockstar customer support. In it she said the issue (disconnect and lose your whole wagon I assume) has been hot fixed. I don't speak coding, do you suppose hot fix means we won't lose an entire wagon if disconnected anymore? Thought I would add the email in this thread so people could see what I'm talking about without having to go to another thread. Marie R. (Rockstar Support) Nov 6, 14:01 EST Hello Freakshow9191, Thank you for contacting Rockstar Support. We would like to inform you that this issue has now been hot fixed. However, for the inconvenience, I have added RDO$ 625 to your account. You would be able to see the added funds to your account once you log into your RDR Online account. I hope I was able to resolve your issue appropriately. If you ever need assistance in the future, please feel free to contact us. Just remember, we are always an email away if you need help. Best regards, Marie R. Rockstar Support

So...how do you shoot someone in a camp?
Freakshow9191 replied to Freakshow9191's topic in Red Dead Online
Lol, exactly why I was wanting to know. There's been a couple of instances where it would have been handy. Seen it happen 3 times now. Once a while back. But twice in the last week. All 3 times me/friend was around campfire or stewpot, white flag up, and they were in the posse. -

Update: just lost a 7th large distant wagon. Never made it out of camp. As soon as my character was placed on the wagon, DC. Getting really discouraged with it all now. -

Thanks everyone. How does everyone figure these tricks out? Sheesh. I can barely play the game properly, much less glitch the system to my advantage. -
Seen it happen with increasing frequency recently. White flag up, chillin by the fire, cooking, and........bam. Verified white flag was in fact up when returning, yep, still up. A posse mates said he saw that if someone is on the edge of render range with a long distance shot they can hit you. So we tried it. Never worked. Hmmmm...

Never realized trade route gave goods

I've been booted from the event several times myself. Still my favorite free roam. So many free roam events just turn into a shoot anyone you see, regardless of the objective. -
Nope, I have no idea what's going on at their RDR2 meetings. But as a consumer am I supposed to know how the sausage is made? I completely understand I know nothing about what they're facing. My understanding of their challenges doesn't change the fact I can't pitch a camp, get disconnected frequently, or have a hard time finding animals. But it appears to me, due to the glacial pace of fixing very important issues, that they've lost sight of what truly matters. Their lack of communication leads to "assumptions". This isn't a new problem that popped up last night. And after months of this, "we're aware and working on it" starts to not hold water anymore.....for me.
-
All I was saying is, the important stuff, like disconnects, spawns, and camps are fundamental, important, core issues of gameplay, that should be the highest priority. The optics of it look bad to me. I see swine masks and a new poncho before the game runs properly, and I get the feeling rockstar doesn't care about the important stuff. " I just disconnected again and lost another large wagon that took me forever to fill due to the camp, and animal spawns problems, but hey, thank God I have this sweet swine mask to wear!" We didn't have these spawn and camp issues before the FP update, which is creeping up on 2 months ago. In 2 months they can't code it to spawn a few more animals? Or fix a camp glitch? Im sure it's an amazingly complex process I can't possibly understand, but maybe they should bring all their knowledge and departments to bear on these core issues, and get the engine running smooth, first. That's the only point I've ever tried to make.
-
I'm not concerned with how they operate their departments within the company. I'm the end user, all I care about is that the product I paid for works properly. If you buy a new Honda car, and it runs great but the seats suck, you don't say "Honda's drivetrain department did great but their interior division needs help". No.... You say "Honda needs to fix these seats" Well, "rockstar" needs to fix their glitches.
-
Agreed. I say it to my posse mates all the time, first fix constant DC's, spawning, and camps, THEN, worry about stupid stuff like swine masks and zombies. Rockstars engine is misfiring and running poorly. But hey!! Check out these shiny new wheels!!!

I'm happy we got a new dog. He looks a lot like my beagle, had to snatch it up quickly. -
I maxed all roles, bought all the horses I wanted, all weapons, all camp stuff, so really only thing left for me is to make money, ride with friends and help them, and just enjoy the game.
-
I've played trade route about 10 times now. It wasn't till tonight I noticed it said I received "goods" not "materials". SMH. I should pay more attention. That's a great event, getting a 17 goods bump sure makes your wagon turnaround go quicker.
-
Hmmm, kind of a headscratcher then. I did see some posts on here with people having this problem. Seems like all of them ended up having to contact rockstar and submit a ticket. Maybe try them again, and again. In the meantime, I suppose you could just keep doing temporary posse for your friends. Sucks, I know.

The timer on your bounty is seen in the top middle of the screen. It's there and visible on every (regular) bounty. Is your TV set to zoom? Or some other TV setting that cuts your display down and you're just not seeing the timer? As far as animal spawns: Hitting the "SLEEPING" cougar spawns in tall trees and Cholla springs solved all my animal spawns/materials problems completely. 16.88 materials for one 3* cougar. Make sure it's the SLEEPING spawn points as they are VERY consistent and repeatable. I can fill 5 cougars in my wagon 20 minutes or less. The ones where the cougar is up running around are far less consistent. Kind of hit or miss. IMO
-
Did you create a camp? That's required for a posse. Or Your friends were affiliated with too many posse's. They may need to stand down from some. How long has this went on? You have restarted the game and problem persists? I've never heard of a glitch that makes a persistent posse permanently unjoinable.

Being a level 21, you've spent some time in online, is that what you're experiencing when you play? If it takes someone using explosives (which are limited) and chugging tonics to beat you then that's a win for you. As those items take some effort to acquire. Also, as I'm sure you know by playing to level 21, this isn't a battle Royale, where the last one standing "wins" . There is no "winning" against other players out in free roam. You may get into skirmishes. But how long you decide to fight is up to you. You just roam the map making money and getting into adventures. If you decide to stay and fight a player that's your decision. You can just as easily ride off (defensive) if you come across an explosive using "tonic monster". No, you can't buy your way into dominance in free roam. If you can free aim headshots, you will beat an auto aiming tonic chugger 90% of the time. Full disclosure: I'm too old and blind to free aim well. I count on auto aim to get me pointed in the right direction quickly. And someone who is good at free aim will clean my clock. (I don't use tonics in free roam bickering though, waste of money).
