Don't forget you can disable game chat through the free roam menu, under the online options tab. Make it posse only, friends only, etc... I also know that reporting through Xbox ( not sure what your on) does get them banned from chat pretty quickly. Send a message telling them to leave you alone, and when they respond with hate messages, report it. They'll be banned real quick. From communications anyways. Also, play offline, and switch sessions, and they can't follow you. Xbox.

Nope. I'd have shot em too. They can respawn. Game has made me cold hearted recently I'm MUCH more likely to shoot first anymore. "Welcome to red dead noobs!"

Don't know if it's a glitch or what, but it's always happened with my character. Since day one.

There is nothing you can buy to carry more bullets with you. You can unlock different types of bullets and carry those as you progress. Example: Repeater rounds: When you first start you can carry 200 regular repeater shells. So max you can carry is 200. As you unlock more ammo types, you can carry the max amount of those shells too. Like Regular: 200 Split point: 100 High velocity:200 Express: 200 Explosive: 10 So once you unlock all types you can carry 710 rounds of repeater ammo with you.

When you opened the chest you received a coupon for a free ability card. It wants you to select, and equip the card you picked to proceed.- 1 reply

Do the races seem too hard or is it just me?
Freakshow9191 replied to SNAK3S's topic in Red Dead Online
So what you're saying is....when I win, I'm the better rider....sounds fun to me. -
Same problems here noquid. What's worked for me is: I join the game through the "camp" option on the online screen. If my camp isn't there when I load in, I just go back to online menu screen, and load into "camp" again. Its always worked by the second time. Sometimes it's not where I want it, but I just deal with it. Don't wanna confuse the game by trying such a complex maneuver such as relocating. If my camp disappears after 5 minutes, I TRY the camp setup option in the free roam menu, but if it gets hosed up, it's back to the online camp option again.

Unlocking poison Poppy's moonshine recipe

Thanks stofegad. Seems like a very R* thing to do. SMH. -
30 second timer rule: We did test it once with a couple of Alden wagon recovery missions. When we waited out a 20 minute Alden mission we got 44 nuggets of gold (almost half a bar), and over $35 ( a lot when you don't have roles) Then we tried to do 2 stranger missions in 20 minutes, the combined total was less than waiting the one out. If I remember right we got like $12 and .08 nuggets from "the boy" and like $15 and 10 nuggets from Alden. And with riding time and everything it took us right at 20 minutes to fit 2 in. So..waiting (in a safe zone) is boring but more profitable.

So it's a random encounter mission we have to find that unlocks the recipe? Anyone unlocked it yet?
-
Get to a safe zone and run the timer down to the last 30 seconds. 30 second point represents the max you're gonna get paid. "This is the way" that most missions operate with a timer. The missions that don't pay more for taking timer down to final 30 are any trader missions (including resupply) or moonshine missions.

Trader wagon hunting/defending tips thread
Freakshow9191 replied to Freakshow9191's topic in Red Dead Online
Update: Had another instance where only one of our posse members could see a wagon target icon on their mini map. We had to have that one member stay on the map and guide us in. I NEVER saw an icon on my map until I shot the driver, only then did a wagon wheel icon even show on my map. (We got it all BTW) Any other wagon hunters run into this yet? Or have anymore info on wagon visibility on the map? Also: for hunting: it appears after the moonshine update some of the long distance deliveries are extreme long distance. Example: from West of tall trees to the docks at st.denis.😲 that's a looong distance, and huge exposure time. -
Checkpoints: I believe they're completely random as to whether you get stopped. I've tried several guns out, no guns, bootlegger missions beforehand, cinematic, no bandana, many many times. And what seemed to work a few times, will eventually not work. Just seems random. I've also stopped cinematic deliveries. Had it glitch going through a checkpoint, didn't follow yellow line, didn't realize till much later, had a covered wagon hit me, wagon hit a checkpoint barricade, ran over a big rock, all in cinematic/autopath. Lost 3 bottles each time. If I drive I lose nothing and have better situational awareness.

Do the races seem too hard or is it just me?
Freakshow9191 replied to SNAK3S's topic in Red Dead Online
I love races series. I haven't noticed any increased difficulty recently. (Console) It really shows you just how close most all horses are matched. I've had my black Arabian struggle to pass a Belgian draft out of a turn, one wrong move and I'm stuck behind that big boy for a while. Point to point, is my favorite. Ya know, when you actually get a group that races and doesn't just farm xp, by running around for 20 minutes shooting everyone. -
The wagon should keep your contents in there, even if it blows up, or runs off a cliff, or you log off and back on. So If your inventory dissapeared then it wasn't supposed to. I can bring 8 large animals back to camp at once using the wagon. 5 in the wagon. 1 on my horse, 1 on my stolen horse, and dragging one. You didn't waste your money.

Ahhh, good to know. That spiced island shine.....wow!!!! Gives you all three gold rings AND cores. But you need that collectors rum to make it. I'm gonna be hunting that rum constantly so I can always have some on tap.
-
I've also noticed some recipes have a gold star next to them. Not completely sure what they mean. Maybe those are specials.
-
Yes, once you complete the cutscene, it's just left on the D-pad to the free roam menu , and down to camp & properties. Choose shack location and buy it with gold. You're all set.
-
You're not going to the red colored, options menu with map, control settings, progress, etc...are you? To me that's the player menu. The "free roam" window does have, players, camp, stables , etc... In it. Just making sure you're in the right window to start.
-
Sounds like a great idea to me. Having some special things that could say "I've been here a long time" would be great. No advantages, but like you said "bragging rights". As far as a perk, I've always thought "I'm level 168, I've bonded 8 horses, can I just pay to level 4 bond one now?"
-
Wouldn't a special just be a flavored moonshine? Seems like any shine with a name would be special.
-
Rockstar actually added a negative honor class "griefing". A posse mate dynamited a shine wagon last night, it said "negative honor griefing" . Thought that was interesting.

Lancaster vs Litchfield As with most weapons in this game, the stats sheet doesn't tell you the whole story. And is usually a subject for a lot of debate. In the end you pretty much have to test them yourself to see which one fits your style of play. The Litchfield takes longer for it's aim reticule to zero in and do max damage on target. The Lancaster can put more hits on more targets faster than the Litchfield, so the small damage increase on the Litchfield isn't worth it to me. I find the Lancaster much more useful when for example, you're doing a bounty and their gang is running towards you and you have to put a lot of them down quickly. .

I was out at Manzanita post, picking herbs. Player rides by on horse, hits me with a nice headshot. Respawn, go back to herb picking. An hour later I head back to shine shack and who do I see just starting a shine delivery? Well, imagine what I did. Point is I guess, is how can rockstar possibly enforce harrasment when a player uses explosives on a wagon, in a game that provides explosives to players for use on wagons? And...rewards the player with xp for doing it? PS: for the record, mine has been blown up at the start too. I do think it's a problem. With only 6 shacks, and the wagon spawning directly in front of the shack, the potential for abuse is sky high. I've seen several runs start, never messed with them except for payback on that guy. Rockstar should spawn wagons farther away, or give you a wide safe zone to get your bearings and a plan at least.
