I'm gonna be doing this a lot pretty soon, looking to get that award for falling 10 meters with my horse and surviving. 2 weeks of intense grinding, playing every waking second, I'd imagine theres some 100+ players already that got it legitimately. I can't do that anymore, too busy these days, but people living in their moms basement, retired, or whatever that have nothing to do all day could very likely have worked for it already

How much time have you played online so far?
KRooKeD KRoW replied to Suck3rPunch3d's topic in Red Dead Online
Unfortunately that won't be accurate for how long I've actually played. It is how long I've been logged into the game, but I had one day where I sat my character in camp, and since my controller was charging, it didn't turn off. About 8 hours later, came home and was still sitting in camp. Had expected it to kick for inactivity after 10-15 minutes. Think it has been kicking since then, but I'll still have many times where I go to the store, for a smoke, to the fridge or wherever and still logged in, so that's at least another few hours total I've been just afk. I have been playing about 3-7 hours a day, depending on the day, since it launched for UE owners, missed 1-2 days a week for whatever reason, so probably about 35-50 hours total, some of that just browsing the menus or catalogue, and with story mode, watching the cutscenes... every.... single.... damn... time. -
I'll still fish, especially to work on my health core, been lagging behind on that one. But not doing too much fishing cuz I dont wanna keep buying bait and still a couple levels away from the first lure. I'm waiting for that to start fishing for profit. Put on a movie, grab some whiskey, and fish. Did a lot of that in other games for various reasons. Been playing a little less lately, just been busy or something else, but even sometimes playing something else for a bit. Mostly waiting for beta to be over and that new content to drop, but still on RDO more than anything else.

I would say hunting would be the most profitable, but it can be tough if there's a ton of griefers on your server, which is why I don't do it often myself. I'll check the map when I log on, if there's not a lot of people on, or if most are all on one end of the map, I'll pick a spot far from anybody but close to a butcher and hunt whatever is in the area for a bit. Gotta keep checking your map to see if people seem to be moving your way, then I'll run run to the butcher, sell all I have, and start a mission if people still seem to be moving my way. I usually spam the story mission matchmaking, not quite as profitable, but usually more fun. Not too much into competitive modes anymore, and do need a break from the story missions every now and then.

How do I craft or upgrade my arrow's
KRooKeD KRoW replied to Badboynadzza's topic in Red Dead Online
Ya, seems unreasonably high for it. $150 wouldn't be bad. Not even sure what pamphlets they lowered the price on, they all looked the same from before the economy changes, and pamphlets were supposedly lowered, or at least some of them, but I don't see any difference. -

Some of the bullets are from the stores, you just need to reach a certain rank to buy them. The rest, as Hoover said, come from the fence, for a few hundred, minimum. -
Ah, that makes more sense, wasnt watching my ammo too closely when that happened. I just noticed getting it when I had hit someone a few times already. Just figured it meant last chance to get a headshot on this guy you already "crippled"

I think you'll still have your camp choosing a different spot with new sessions. Pretty sure it still picks random spots when you re-log. Theres probably just a handful of locations in each county for camps, and if everyone is selecting the same one, it'll put yours to a different one. I just wish the different one it chooses is the closest one to your choice that is available. I've had it where I ask for it to be in Cholla Springs and it puts it in Bayou Nwa, and theres no way every campsite in between is occupied.

The double action revolver didnt go down too much, but it wasnt that high to begin with. I've been doing mostly story missions and still got 7-10 for some, but I think those weren't "perfect" runs. Got about 25 for others we did well. Much better than the 2 for a bad run and 10 for a great one from before. I dont think they're done balancing the economy.

Pretty sure the awards give a pretty good amount of XP when you complete one. And once you reset the ones you are able to reset after finishing the whole set, it gives you gold nuggets as well. Just open them up in the progress section of the pause menu to see which ones to do. Several of them get you xp along the way as well (i.e. kills total, headshots, kills with specific weapons, etc.) Also, for the kills in general, the most xp I've discovered I can get from a single kill is from a horse with a headshot. You get xp for the kill, the headshot, and death rider (kills from your horse). I've also gotten saddle sore, which I think is killing someone that is on a horse themselves, and last chance, which I believe is when you shoot them several times, and one more will kill them no matter the location, but you get a headshot for it. So probably counts instead of the headshot xp.

I'm sure heists are coming, but it probably won't be for a bit. Mexico is practically in there already since they just used the world from RDR1 for the backdrop there, so wouldn't be surprised if they finish updating it and open it up. Businesses like they had in GTA would be nice, not sure what businesses there could be. Gambling den, opium den, bars where people get shanghai'd maybe.

I'm hoping those feedback links remain available after beta ends. Since the game is gonna be changing all the time, theres likely to be new bugs that pop up, and reccomending changes throughout the games life would be nice. I dont think they're done balancing the payouts. Seems like you should get a big bonus for winning, and smaller amount depending on your own performance. Haven't played competitive mode much, not into that as much as I used to be, so dont have much of an idea of the payouts there.
-
That's not the issue I'm referring to, it's that you shouldn't be able to get that first big payout from missions over and over by restarting your character. If you had it a couple times cuz it's something they haven't fixed yet and you came across it by accident, they probably wont ban you, it's the people that do it over and over for as long as they can to gain an advantage that obviously wasn't intended that get banned. Depends on how generous they're feeling. Sometimes they give a warning and if you continue then they ban you. I've chucked dynamite in the water to catch fish, you just have to go in the water and pick up the fish after. Rapid waters make it tougher, but it does get the fish, they just come out in poor condition. Dont think it works just anywhere, you have to do it where you see the ripples in the surface from the fish
-
There's no way being able to delete your character and start a new one with your money carried over, only to be able to get the one-time big payout over and over again is a feature they intended to have in the game. Using an unintended feature repeatedly to get an advantage violates the terms and conditions you agreed to. Read the EULA sometime before clicking accept. Sounds like Hunting and fishing still may be the most profitable, if you can avoid people. I haven't done much of either since the economy changes. Still don't quite feel it's balanced right, but I am liking it more.

Sounds like insurance now depends on the horse. Thoroughbred was $125 to insure. Guess it ranges from bout 100-150. Ya, definitely worth it now, 5 gold was a terrible idea.
-
If you open the pause menu and go to progress, theres an awards section that lists what you need to do and your progress. Some other useful sections in progress as well. A lot of the awards can be reset after you get the buckle to give gold nuggets for doing them again. You only get the buckle once, but it seems you can keep resetting them.

You found Gavin!!! 🤣 Curious if anyone that spent gold on the insurance got it back. Anyone know?

Galaxies was great, I preferred it the way it was when it first came out. Was super hooked on Conan Exiles for a long time, afraid to go back now that my buildings deteriorated online. Yeah, I still hook up my N64 every now and then and play that again, getting 100% each time. Then pop Majora's Mask in, and only play it a little before quitting. Loved when Princess Zelda says my name sounds familiar when I use Zelda as my name, loved the Easter Eggs in her room in the castle

I got $25 and some change from finishing a story mission fast and no deaths. Another one gave $7, but someone kept killing someone we needed alive, so had to restart several times. If $7 is as low as it goes, that's not great, but still better than the $2 was getting before from a bad run. $10 was about the max I was getting before. Finishing some of them in about 3 minutes, some others take longer due to the objectives

Those are the games I prefer, I'll never play CoD again, still enjoy Battlfield, just not nearly as much as Red Dead. Usually like the really complicated games that take a while to learn, simply because there's sooo much to do. It's still early in the beta, there's still several things that were data mined that aren't in the game right now, and bug fixes are slowly coming out.

I just got mine a few minutes ago, when selecting free roam or series matches before logging into the game, there was an option to claim a gift from Rockstar. Clicked that and windows popped up that I thought were errors at first, but it gave me the difference that I spent on things they lowered, then the 2 bonuses, then logged me into free roam. Not sure if it has to be done like that now, but that's how I got mine and it was in my "pocket" when I got in.

Eh, didn't care for that sequel... 1. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (BotW is great too, but missing so many things that made OoT great) 2. Perfect Dark (the original, even the updated versions that were on the 360 and One cuz they just updated the graphics, and it was better with the xbox controller than the N64 controller) 3. Red Dead Redemption (and by extension, RDR2 is up there, but I'm thinking classic games) so many others, like Star Wars KotOR, all the Elder scrolls games and Fallout games (New Vegas wasn't bad, but could've been better), Warcraft 2 (WC3 was missing things I really liked from the second game) and others I can't think of right now. Oh ya, both Starcraft games, still play those.

I've had the icon not appear, but as long as I could find the chest, was able to get things from it. Crips' icon doesn't appear sometimes, too. There are times where all that shows on the map is the wardrobe and the fire, but the others are there and can be interacted with. Some bugs seem to affect people differently, or they're getting different bugs, not sure. So not sure if anybody is unable to even access the chest when it's not on the map.
-
Sounds like that should be the case, maybe it only increases the payout after resetting x amount of times. Could also be something that's not working properly yet, still tons of things that needs to be fixed
-
Ya, something like that, they would probably prioritize patching out of the game. Starting your character over should mean actually starting over, with nothing at all. Careful, cuz if you do things like this, they have every right to ban you, your IP, however they decide to drop that Ban Hammer. With fish prices halfed, the topic method might still be decent, just nowhere near as good as it was before the patch.
