  1. We still have gatherings, there's just people missing. And Easter is an open-house holiday so we go to our friends houses mostly.
  2. I've done a couple alone, but I'm sure it's best to go with a couple people. It'll go quicker and you'll have to worry less about people coming up and killing you. Not sure if you can finish one someone else started, but either way, they can steal the completion from you. Plus, if you're going around in search of one, having a larger group also helps against other players.
  3. That has happened on about half our family holiday gatherings in the past decade. With a few exceptions, my family does not know how to relax. Everyone gets all tense and someone says something that pisses someone else off, and they just can't seem to forgive each other.
  4. That's weird, I would've thought it would be based on the saddle and not the horse. Does she have both saddled? If so, removing the saddle from one might help, pretty sure the saddle stays at the stable. Good to know the purchased insurance is buggy, was close to getting it last night when I started getting errors, haven't had time to log on today. Guess I'll hold off on the insurance after all. I'm spamming the on-call for story missions and always have several revive pots anyways, so as long as I pay attention to it, I should be good until the insurance is fixed. Also, not sure who this may help if anyone, but make sure you go to the quick menu (left on the d-pad) stables and change which horse get's summoned when you whistle during the different activities.
  5. I'm Russian Orthodox, so our Christmas isn't until January 7. We don't make that big a deal of it anymore either. I keep wanting to start my shopping early, couple gifts here and there so I'm not stressing while I scramble to get gifts, but I always end up doing things last minute. Last year, I got all my shopping done in about an hour the day before, somehow for only $100 for 9 people. Burlington Coat Factory FTW.
  6. If they're rolling out economy balance as one of the first major changes, I'd guess that they're hoping to not have to reset anything. If they do reset, I'll blame all the people using the exploits and glitches.
  7. I've had this happen several times, asked to move it to heartlands, and it moves it to tall trees or something else still kinda far away. My guess is it does this because that session has used up all the locations for a camp in that area, too many people camped there. It does suck having it charge you when it moves to the wrong spot, especially when you try a couple times in a row. I'm sure a lot of people have submitted this to Rockstar already.
  8. Haha. I've had that happen a couple times. Always cracks me up. I've had a couple people waste a lot of ammo trying to shoot me as well. Makes me think that they do not know about the camps, probably only know how to find players and troll them. Actually had a dream after the first time that they could shoot the white flag to make me attackable again, was relieved when I realized it was just a dream, cuz that would really suck.
  9. I feel ya, I have a pretty big head myself and most things that say one size fits all are lying. My Gunnar's (pretty much the same as shooting glasses, they're HD gaming glasses) are ok, but a little tight. My Turtle Beaches on the other hand fit pretty well, and I only have them adjusted to about half the length they could be. Every headset that came with any xbox has broken within a week when I try to put it on, with the exception of the xbone headset, as I never had to use it, got my xbone designed turtle beaches a little before the system came out in 2013.
  10. Lol, ya, took me a while to figure that out too. Went dynamite-happy one day, and was seeing where it would work and how well, was surprised when it knocked him down, been soooo much easier since then.
  11. Not everyone is grinding/farming/enjoying in RDO the same way, the one I've been using most is the quick match for Story Missions. To make the most of these, we need to do them fast and have no deaths/restarts. Thought I'd share some of the things I discovered to make the missions go quicker and more easily, and if any of you have other tips, please share them. I don't remember the mission names, so will do my best to describe what happens in the mission. 1. In the mission at Fort Wallace, to kill the leader and destroy the ammo dumps, you can shoot the leader through the window that's just to the right of the door to the house he is in. I've seen countless people (myself included) open the door just to get blown away before they can even draw. For whatever reason, he does not shoot back through the window. Finally got killed through the window by the boss after doing this like 20 times, so he CAN kill you, guess he just usually hits the wall. 2. Most of the missions have you following an NPC to an unmarked location, the NPC is leading you to an ambush spot, or where all the fighting is happening. This one comes with experience, but once you know exactly where the NPC is leading you, you can usually head to the spot and trigger the next part while the NPC is still far away. This does not work when following Lee on foot, ambushing the different camp grounds, as you need to stay within a certain distance of him, or a couple other spots where you follow the NPC a short distance. You can still go to the location, but you will have to wait in these instances. 3. For the mission to hijack the train and head to the supply depot, as soon as the mission starts, head directly east to the train tracks, then follow them south towards Saint Denis, you will come across the train almost immediately and can hijack it without having to follow the NPC. I like to leave the driver alive, he does not fight back unless you come right up to him, and he'll drive for you so you can loot the train. Not sure what he does when reaching the supply depot, as someone always kills him and takes over by then. Also, when going to the room where the 4 targets are locked up, throwing a stick of dynamite in the room next door usually kills all 4 of them. You may have to throw it right next to the flimsy wall that separates the rooms to get them all. May not be the most cost effective, but it can be fun. And escaping on your horses is much faster than escaping on the train. Besides the train going slower, it also has to travel about 5 times as far to escape. 4. When attacking Fort Mercer in the Australian Armor (again, you can rush ahead to the camp next to Fort Mercer to trigger the cutscene), you can enter the Fort from some rocks that are climbing the wall around the corner to the left of the main entrance. Just pause at the top of the rocks before climbing over the wall to shoot the 2-3 NPCs that are usually there on the wall. And when fighting the armored boss at the end, throwing a stick of dynamite at his feet not only does massive damage, but also knocks him down for a few seconds. I like to use those few seconds to rush up to him and unleash with my weapon, usually he dies before he can get back on his feet. 5. When chasing Crawfish and his 3 friends so you can lasso them, as soon as you get on your horse to chase them, head straight ahead to the river and cross there. It's a path so it's really shallow and you can get across quickly. From there, just follow the river south towards the guys, they all eventually cross the river before the train tracks, and you should have no trouble catching up with them well before then. 6. When doing the mission where at the start, it tells you to go to Van Horn or the camp, you don't need to kill everybody, just the lieutenants. The lieutenant in Van Horn is in the (saloon?) which has a back door to it. He is right next to the door, so if you sneak around back, kick the door open, aim and shoot quick, nobody has a chance to react, you kill him and can run away without risking more damage or ammo. The one in the camp is next to the campfire towards the back, wearing a reddish jacket. Sneak over to where you have a good LoS on him, aim for the headshot, kill him and again, run away. Then again, after meeting back up with the marshall, if you know where to go, you can run ahead and trigger the combat.
  12. It's likely just a feature that hasn't been added yet. Thought I saw someone post they found a guy that says he'll buy the horses but he can't do it yet for whatever reason.
  13. That's the only thing I'm even considering spending my gold on, horse insurance. Have about 4.65 myself right now. Tho I mostly do the story missions, and always keep at least a few revive potions, so have been considering holding off for a bit to see what will change.
  14. Ah, ok, haven't really spent any time in my wardrobe. Put my free outfit on, changed a couple things and never went back.
  15. I don't think it's wardrobe, cuz it looks like it's the same gold buckle for each award. Maybe they each give some gold nuggets, which could be why I didn't see where it went, was getting nuggets for something else as at the same time.
  16. So it turns out those awards online for getting so many kills, doing stuff online, and whatnot, do give gold nuggets. Not sure what the Gold Buckle it awards you is good for or where it even goes when you get it, but after finishing the last step of one of the challenges, a lot of them you can reset and get gold nuggets when you complete them again. Haven't seen how many yet, but I imagine it's not much. Kinda like a prestige system for them, I guess. For anyone that doesn't know where to view those awards, when online, go to the Pause menu>Progress>Awards. You'll also see Story Mission and Rank Unlocks on the Progress page, good for replaying specific missions and checking what you unlock at each rank up.
  17. I can't confirm, but it seems like the higher level you are the more you get from doing certain things. I was getting about $2-$6 every story mission I repeated at first, now it's about $5-$10 for each one at rank 22. Pelts, valuables and treasures I think are the same, but activity rewards may be going up. It's not much of an increase, but every bit helps, especially when it's this painfully slow to get any.
  18. You can also setup a campfire anywhere to craft those items yourself if you have meats for it. Just open your weapon wheel with LB/L1 and hit RB/R1 to switch to the page that has it on the bottom of the wheel. The coffee pot will be there as well.
  19. I'm having some trouble now understanding the bonding. I had my Scrawny Nag, and got to level 4 bond pretty quick. Got rid of it after I got a second stall and my free Thoroughbred. Have had the Thoroughbred about as long as I had the Nag, and only now just hit level 2 bond. Do the higher end horses take longer to bond with? Would kinda make sense, but I wasn't sure.
  20. Not sure what it was then that triggered it. It was a mission I'd done several times via quick join. Soon after I hit 18, I noticed a new yellow area on my map. Went to it, started the mission, did it again anyways thinking it wasn't new, and got a ton of money for it. Only had like $30 after buying things just before, and after the mission was up to $170. Maybe from my honor shifting, started as a bandit, switched to positive honor after a while. That could be something they changed already, no need to start a new character. Not sure tho.
  21. Ability to own dogs and use them to flush out animals for hunting would be great. The blips do need to be changed, maybe using a spotting system. They are only on the map if you have LoS or they're shooting, and then, only for a little bit if you lose LoS. It seems like I see other players horses just standing around more than I see NPCs, it does feel a bit empty, compared to single player especially. Tattoos would be nice, I know they had them back then, so why not. Just nothing unusual... animals, names, patterns, mythological creatures could be ok
  22. I noticed after I got a second horse, it was summoning the old one sometimes and the new on other times. I had to change the settings in the quick menu. In the stables options, you can change which horse you call for various activities. So you can have a race horse set for free roam, and a war horse set for series or missions, or however you want it set up.
  23. Turns out I don't have the Arabian cuz I'm on Xbox... 30 days early access for PS4. I was beginning to lose my mind trying to figure out why it wasn't available for me.
  24. I myself use Turtle Beach Elite 800x. They're a few years old, so theres prolly newer versions. Mine were about $300 when I got them. I really take care of them so theyre like new even after about 5-6 years (think I got them a few months before xbox one came out) They have surround sound and you can adjust the output by which game your playing. In shooters, footstep focus or superhuman hearing modes help hear people trying to sneak up on you. In RDO, I used signature sound (enhances the sound a bit but keeps it the way the game was intended to sound), but I switched to superhuman hearing cuz it makes it sound more like I'm actually there. You can use them with any system and they have bluetooth so you can use them with your phone or PC, have music playing from your PC while having the game and chat all in the same headset. They typically design each one to work better with a specific system, but with bluetooth especially, it's not much difference. They're wireless, so you have to charge them either with the dock it comes with, or with any micro USB (tho the USB takes much longer), and I dont have to charge it more than once a week of about 4-5 hours play a day. Generally I prefer Turtle Beaches, even the cheaper stereo ones with few features are good. Some people like Astros or the other one, I think it's called Triton.
  25. I understand when it moves sites within the county or whatever you chose, cant have everyone's camp in the same spot, but when theres more than enough areas that it doesn't need to move states. Like moving it but keeping it in the Heartlands where I set it. Also hoping this is a bug
