I got a cougar tonight with poison arrows. The first shot didn't kill him quick enough so I shot another. Got them both back when I went up to skin it.

Yes, this is a great spot. Just follow the river until it splits with the road and go up the hill and they usually spawn there. I've gotten 12 there the last few days. Just be sure to sell the carcass at the trapper nearby or the won't spawn for a while. That road is a great place to leave carcasses on if you need boar pelts or a perfect raccoon or coyote. Critters come in to feed on then quite often if you just go back and forth along that road. Lots of elk, foxes, rams, wolves, snakes, boars and small game there. Perfect hunting spot. Keep on eye on the mini map for red dots! And LOL at "I've been cougared in that area before."

Oh man, I caught a 19+# muskie last night fishing for the legendary smallmouth. But I'm not on that challenge yet.

I found some jewelry in there. Sorry for forgot to post back about it. There was also a stranger mission right near there. Two guys living in a cabin and one is lost in the snow storm...

I got this game over a year after it came out, I'm glad there are still some people playing story mode. Been trying to take my time through it because I love it so far (Chapter 3 here).

Thank you sir. I've since read this: How to Use the Lock Breaker in Red Dead 2 This might seem simple, but it's been stumping quite a few people, even myself. To use the lock breaker, approach a locked chest or door and interact with it by pressing "Square" on PS4 and "X" on Xbox One. It's that simple. If you are having trouble with it, it's because the door or chest you want to open can't actually be opened. In my 15 hours with the game, I've only found 3-4 locked chests, and I haven't found any locked doors, so they're few and far between it seems. Is this true or no?

I bought the lock breaker from the fence, but how do you use it? It doesn't show in the wheel. Xbox 1 here.

Playing tonight, I happened to end up right near that area (in chapter 3 now). I'm gonna check it out tomorrow night and see if I missed anything there.

Well I ended up buying the boat so now I have all the upgrades. So no new upgrades to spend money on will show up later in the game? I guess I shouldn't donate $ at Dutch's tent since there's $400 in there. The boat helped me get a perfect iguana skin for Pearson too. Just rowed across the island.

I'm in chapter 3, and have all the ledger upgrades for the camp except the boat. Is it worth getting? Also, there is $700+ in the gang donations. Without giving anything away, should I keep giving money into it if there's nothing left to buy? The $700 in there is more than enough for resupplies for a while.

This leads to another question, but I'll make a new thread to not derail.

I've bought every upgrade for the camp except the boat. Kind of hesitant to buy it now.
