  1. Hold B/Circle to back all the way out of the shop catalog menus in one go. Double-tap R1 to put away your revolver with a flourish.
  2. I think the first few levels of beard grow very fast, and the later ones are much slower. I know it won't grow the last two notches (or is it three?) without hair tonic, because I got an in-game message to that effect once I had a long beard.
  3. The other option for the way the game could have handled this would have been: "You cannot skin an animal here. Carry it to an open flat area and try again!" Let's be glad they handled it the way they did!
  4. I'm a big fan of the flat cap too. I've got much fancier, and a couple of rare ones, but I keep coming back to it.
  5. Just takin' a puff outside the barber. I love how different Arthur can look, depending on how you dress and shave him. It was hard to really capture how awesome this mustache is in self-portrait mode. It usually looks a lot straighter and pointier.
  6. I just accidentally discovered that you can ride backwards by double-tapping R1
  7. Yes, but we we’re specifically comparing Xbox One X performances. PS isn’t getting as good frame rates in general, from what I understand
  8. I’m using digital download, so the disk might be a factor.
  9. Reporting back from Strawberry: I've had no issues. I ran around for a long time in various places, tried carrying a lantern at night for more lighting and shadow calculations, tried getting into a massive gunfight, jumped on buildings, swam in the stream... nothing really seemed to cause any problem. Like I said earlier, I did see some very minor slowdown in Saint Denis, but nothing in Strawberry.
  10. Let's not get carried away with the accusations. rdr2.org is not Rockstar Games. They are doing the best they can with the information they have.
  11. I had that happen on a different game, but not so far on RDR2.
  12. In the post, you can use the spoiler tags to hide things. In titles, you can't.
  13. Most people read in chunks of text, not one word at a time. The entire title registered to me at once, as I'm sure it will others. Please remove the spoiler before more people catch it.
  14. Go into a gun shop and see if you can choose the "modify" option on them.
  15. I haven't seen this in game, but I recognize what it's supposed to be immediately.
  16. While you're focusing on someone, the game tries to keep Arthur turned and facing them. This can be a problem if you're riding by too fast and close to them, since it will try to turn him quickly to keep facing the person. It's best to slow to a crawl before interacting, especially if you are getting very close. When riding with the gang, you have two options: 1. Use cinematic camera, which will almost always have Arthur ride intelligently, and avoid obstacles. It's not 100%, especially if you haven't bonded with your horse well, but it's pretty good in my experience. 2. Ride manually, and make occasional course corrections. This will allow you to look around where you like and get a clearer sense of what's going on, but you have to be a little more vigilant.
  17. Sure, no problem. Any particular sections of town or activities you want me to check out? I don't know the area all that well, so be as specific as you can.
  18. Yeah, I use guides more for mechanics and general tips than for missions unless I'm totally stuck and about to give up.
  19. All I know so far is that 3 > 2 > 1.
  20. Make sure they aren't simply stored on your horse. I can't tell you how many times that confused me at first.
  21. I haven't bought a guide since GTA5. I think I might just pick one up on the way home today. So it's worth the cash?
  22. My guess is that it's gone forever. Too bad that the game didn't leave the map on his body. Or maybe he was lying to you?
  23. I won't be back in the game until this evening, but if it helps, I'll run around Strawberry this evening and let you know if I notice anything. I did have a big gunfight there earlier and didn't notice a problem, but I'll try to keep a more critical eye.
  24. Not at all true. As a coder myself, I can tell you with complete confidence that I could whip up a good Liar's Dice algorithm pretty quickly. Computers have been beating the very strongest human chess masters for decades now. By comparison, Liar's Dice strategy is nothing.
