  1. I am on 98 % or something like that on my main save but I have not rushed the game in any way. I guess having MS(not the company) and not being able to work 100% of the time for once is an advantage as it gives me more time with my hobbies and my family. This game should be enjoyed slowly in my opinion but I have to admit that I somewhat rushed chapter six because I was too curious about the main story. During my second play through I took it way slower and enjoyed it way more.
  2. Your guess is as good as any. I am not sure even R* knows at this point in time. Personally I feel that I can never get enough RDR2 but the game is complete as is. There are not many or even any game that offers as much single player content as this game does already. But I would be a very happy cowboy if we got even more content and I would gladly pay for it but I do not expect it nor do I require it. And if there was a DLC I would prefer expanding the story of the already established playable protagonist(s) from both RDR and RDR2.
  3. RDR2 is not perfect but very close to it, it is definitely on my top five games of all time. It is definitely the best game this console generation and I am not a huge fan of GTA nor RDR1. Still, saying that this game is bad is just retarded and I have difficulties to even argue with someone saying RDR2 sucks since it is such an outlandish thing to say. It is ok to say that RDR2 is not ones cup of tea if one is not into western and such but to me this game is a masterpiece and it will be remembered as a game that made all other open world games just watch in awe! I played AC odyssey when RDR2 was released, I just stopped with AC:O and went on to play RDR2 and I have not looked back. RDR2 is so much better compared to the competitors out there.
  4. The best guns? I have finished the story twice and I am around 98% done with the game in total. I have played for way too many hours as I enjoy the hell out of this game just hunting and being an outlaw/friendly Cowboy. I love each and every aspect of this game and it is now my go to game for relaxing and just having fun and I am just playing the story mode as I hate online. Despite all this and the fact that my main save is way beyond the ending of epilogue 2 and that I have every talisman and such, my favorite weapon is still my two pimped cattleman revolvers! I am a sucker for the Colt SAA models and the cattleman with long barrel makes it the equivalent of Colt SAA Cavalry, and it is sexy as hell! I am a little strange that way I guess as I only use revolvers when it comes to handguns, the volcanic is ok because it still has the old west aesthetics and flavor but the more modern handguns is a big no no for me. I do use all the rifles and repeaters since they are good for hunting but my favourite among them are the Lancaster aka Winchester yellow boy repeater and the Springfield trapdoor rifle.
  5. Ok... And I love to play games and/watch movies in a high resolution on good screens. If that makes them love me, ok then!..
  6. ZzZ... This is the same argument some people have held on to since the colour-tv was something new. Of course people can see the difference, except if you are blind of course... I would say that even I as a 36 year old can see the difference on TVs way smaller than 60”.
  7. I agree, the online version is definitely a visually simplified version of the game. The graphics are worse and there is way less people and animals roaming around. I also believe that the more simplistic lighting may result in the experience that the picture may be “crisper” but the cost of that is way too high.
  8. I agree with this so much! I as an adult human being is feeling way more immersed in the fictional world depicted in any game, if there are many ways to interact with said world. I am 36, married and I have two children with my wife. We have been married for 13 years so it is not like I am a virgin living in my parents basement and would like to use RDR2 as a tool for mastrubation. I just like choices and I loved how sex was portrayed in the mentioned games above but also in “Kingdom Come, Deliverance”. In the game the player character can use bathhouses and order extra services, just like in RDR2. The difference is that if one pays for sex the screen fades to black and we hear some noises that should simulate the sexual act. I think it is a nice mechanic and it well situated in the time period the game is trying to depict, just like RDR2. Do not get me wrong, the game do not fall just because there is no sex in the game as I would still consider RDR2 one of my all time favorite games. In modern time, only TLOU is on par but they are way too different games to really compete with each other.
  9. This is so much spot on! More layers of realism and immersion never hurts, and those complaining about sex in a R* game are people that would find other things to complain about anyway. Just like how the thing with the youtuber murdering the suffragette went way out of hand since the reactions from people shows that a lot of humanity lacks brains.
  10. Sadly from now on the online content will be the only thing R* focuses on. And that is very sad since I feel the RDR2 online feels just like GTAV online, why the hell can we see all other players on the map at all times!? Anyway, the graphics is what it is and I do not anticipate that there will be any changes to that.
  11. If we would like to go to extremes, then all things except the main story is fluff... Of course prostitutes would bring another layer to the game, it is called immersion in the era and time that the game is trying to reproduce. And saying that the possibility to pay for a prostitute and fade to black hearing som “noise” would make less people buy the game is just hyperbole. GTAV seems to thrive quite well and they have both strippers and prostitutes. So no, you are quite frankly just wrong or a Puritan of some kind. To me, blowing people head off in slow motion with a shotgun is way worse than the possibility to use the services of working girls, although I feel none of them is horrible at all as it is just pixels. But all aspects of the game makes immersion and the more layers added the better! If one hates the idea of prostitution in the game, then R* could just add the option to remove it just like some games removes gore as an option. This is not a game for kids in the first place and I do believe the world would feel more alive with more ways of interacting with the people in said world. I do not say this games succes is dependent of there being prostitutes or not, but that having them definitely brings realism and immersion. There are tons of other things I would like just as much or even more, like the possibility to rob banks in free roam mode. But this thread is about sex and prostitution in the game. So no, this game would not lose money by having them. That is pure speculation and not even good speculation at that, adult content for games made for adults and if one can accept body part being thorn to pieces then one definitely should be able to see the protagonist enter a room with a prostitute without getting an aneurism!?
  12. More is always better when it comes to immersive open worlds games. So of course the possibility to visit prostitutes would bring one more layer to an already great game. Those that do not like nudity and sex just do not need to pay for the services those women with love for a price provides. It is not like prostitution in the game would force nudity upon anyone, even if I myself feels that the violence probably is worse to the weak and damaged brain than what some pixelated sex is. I still think that none of it is of any danger to any normal person. And someome said romance is “chocolates and flowers”, well not for the outlaw. And if we want to play a true outlaw, the the only “love” we may get is in the arms of a woman that sells affection for a price that can be negotiated.
  13. Hatfields and McCoys is also awesome!
  14. Sorry to hear that 😞 I think all of Europe need some cleaning when it comes to corrupt politicians, we have them here too. Sorry for OT
  15. Ok, I can certainly understand that. I am from Sweden but have worked in Europe, UAE and Japan and I am lucky enough to make a lot more than the average salary even here in Sweden. Still, I would not buy a console for one game. But as you can see, I am stupid enough to buy the same game for multiple systems 😞. I hope the economy will grow in Romania so the average salary soon can be on par with the greater part of EU.
  16. Already own a PS4, PS4-PRO and an XoneX, the game runs smoothest on the pro with native 1080p settings no ss and no hdr. It still looks the best on the XoneX but I still prefer it on the PRO as I prefer frame rate before visuals. I also own a one month old PC that I payed 2500€ for and that system is my preferred platform normally with games released for both consoles and PC. I am a sucker and will probably buy the game for the third time when it is released on PC but for now, the PS4-PRO works fine. May I ask where you are from, just out of curiosity since that seems like a very expensive country or that the average salary is horrible.
  17. The frame rate on the original PS4, XoneS and original Xone is actually horrid in this game. Sad to say but that is just the way it is. I have friends that play on those systems and some of them really do not care or even notice the bad frame rate, I wish I was like that. I a man as earlier mentioned very sensitive to frame drops and I have concluded that the best performance(nit best visuals) is on the PRO with 1080p and no as or hdr. Sadly I do not think they will patch it. I had the same issues with GTAV on PS3 and then on PS4 and even on the PRO with boost mode. Even if the PRO made that game run best of the mentioned, it still had frame drops that I found to ruin the entertainment value of the game. I am a sucker and I also bought GTAV for PC and finally I could play the game with no issues. So I know how you feel and I think R* sometimes just want to push as much visually out of the consoles and just do not care about performance. The good news is that I feel RDR2 runs at a stable 30 fps on the PRO at the specs I mentioned and very close to a locked 30 fps on the XoneX even in 4K native!
  18. This is my experience as well. I have a 4k tv in my living room and a 47 inch 1080p tv in my bedroom and it is way better to play the game on the 1080p without ss as is. I know this is not a solution, but it is a temporary fix.
  19. I agree with this and I am very moved by your experiences. I myself is “only” 36 but I have lived a quite hard life, at least when I was younger. Three of my friends from my childhood has died in one way or the other and my father was and is a full blown alcoholic and his anger was taken out on me when I was younger. So I agree that of course our personal experiences gives us the glasses through which we view the world and of course also stories and games like RDR2. We as humans want to feel connections to what we see and experiences. So it is natural that you , I and everybody else judge a game or a movie based on our personal experiences. And if the story we plays through or watches in a movie has any similarities to our own life, then we feel even more engaged in the characters. So my experiences are quite similar as yours as my life was way bad when I was younger and now I am really in a happy place with my wife and our two children. I could not be a happier man but playing through tragic and sometimes morally ambivalent stories, even if it makes us remember bad things from our lives it can still be part of the journey that makes the experience even better. I love this game and to me it is way more than simple entertainment, not many games have had this effect on me.
  20. Perhaps, but I still do not see why we cannot have both. I am certain that R* will make more Wild West games since RDR2 is such a success. So Luckily it is more or less inevitable that R* will continue their Western-setting in one way or the other and I really cannot see them going forward in time, continuing the Van der Linde storyline. The only logical thing to do here since R* actually have monopoly on the Western-themed games and it has obviously been very lucrative, is to make more games in a Western setting. And just as they do with GTA, the RD-games do not need to have the same protagonists in every game. I think the next game will take place in the same fictional America as the RDR and RDR2 games but earlier with cameos from known and loved/hated characters. In that way we as players will feel that the setting has a continuity and even if we plays as some person that has nothing directly to do with the Van der Linde-gang, nothing stops R* from letting us meet a young Dutch or other member during a side-mission or such. A new protagonist with a story set in those legendary days that Dutch so obviously is dreaming about, would expand an already loved fictional world and it will let us as players understand why Dutch wants to go back to that Wild age of heroes and outlaws. It is a smart way of storytelling without necessarily letting us play as any already known character and while showing pieces of the old story, at the same time starting a complete new one. I would love to experience San fransiscoeaque city, Deadwoodeaque towns, Hell on wheels railroad competition and fight between ranchers and the likes of the Santa Fe-ring. Even the strained relationship between the north and the south during the 1870s could be used, why not let us play a freed slave turned hero/cowboy/lawman/outlaw/prospector and much else!? It would be a perfect way to play a protagonist that is African-American in an age when that was really hard and the story would have natural reasons for that character to be an outlaw against his will or trying to stay on the side of the law despite the corruption and all other problems R* want to put in our way. That is a story I would love to play! And R* is the perfect company to make that story since they have showed us with the RDR games that they can write deep and heartbreaking drama and still make us feel as we are the character they made for us. I do not think R* will stop making Western-themed games as there is too much money in it to just give up.
  21. I hope the next Red Dead game will take place in the 1870-1889 era. It is a way more appropriate time for a western themed game. I hope we will see the great age of gunslingers and outlaws while the West was still the “Wild West”. I also hope we will see more of the classic guns that I associate with the genre, like the Colt navy/army/dragoon, Remington’s equivalents and iconic guns like the Lemat. The game itself will hopefully not take place solely in a desert environment but with many different type of states, just like RDR2. Maybe the big city in the next game could be something of a San Francisco kind of city!? And with small places like Deadwoodesque towns and such. I would like that the next RD game did not have anything with the Redemption-storyline to do at all except maybe a cameo or two.
  22. HZD is a purely single player experience... You must be thinking of something else. HZD is also a open world game, albeit not as large as RDR2 but not many games are.
  23. I am just curious and I am in no way trying to be rude here, but why is not HZD a good comparison?
  24. I agree in full! Spider-Man really does not feel like a 30 fps game despite the really quick movement and such. Hopefully we will get a patch, but it is doubtful that Rockstar will fix the issues. I guess we both will enjoy RDR2 in 60 fps on PC in a few years. And I will be the sucker because I will have bought this game three times just like I did with GTAV... 😞
  25. I will not argue with you on this one as you may be correct. I will just state that I have OCD literally when it comes to fps in games and I notice stutters and frame drops very easy. My PS4-PRO performs well in RDR2, in 1080p without had and supersampling that is. My own experiences has been more or less identical to the digitalfoundry video that I have linked to. And as I said before, I normally play on my PC and always with 60 fps or more. I could not stand GTAV on any console because there was noticeable frame rate drops even on the PS4-PRO with the boost activated so I ended up buying that game three times. So I have GTAV on PS3, PS4 and on PC and PC was really the only way it was fun to play. Can the frame drops you are experiencing be caused by the fact that you are playing on a tv that is 4K native? I have a 4K tv but I am playing on my bedroom tv that is a 47 inch 1080p tv... I will test further by moving my PS4-PRO to the living room and see if I lose frames even if I force a 1080p setting on my 4K tv. I really do not feel that my experience in RDR2 is the same, neither on the oneX or the PS4-PRO set at 1080p. On my 1080p tv I am not experiencing any frame drops and my OneX is almost flawless on my 4K tv. But as I said, only you can decide the experience you have on your systems and what you think about them. I do hope that whatever makes the frame rate not as good as it should be, will be solved for you so you can enjoy the game.
