Stallionsden Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 The only issue I have with this game.. I understand if you lose your pelts cause lawmen or bandits killed ya. But really an animal kills you and you lose your pelts. Very lazy by rockstar. Had 1 more pelt to collect to be able to craft all my satchels. Grrrr

I may spend a lot of time in the menu because I save all the time, but it's better than missing out on something important for a stupid reason. Accidents happen, it's nice to get a redo when you need it. 1

How do you even justify using the word "Lazy" in a sentence with R*? If you want to see a "lazy" game developer, go have a look at what Bethesda is up to. 1

And rdr2 is a great game just dont see why a animal attacks and kills you you lose your stuff. I understand if a bandit ornlawmen does they take it etc. Just think r* could a done a bit more in this area
dIV4r Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 They clearly took some shortcuts but you have to figure they needed to since the game had been delayed what, three times? I don't mind little things like this in a game given that they have done so many other things right and clearly put a lot of time and hard work into it.

Video games are really challenging to make perfect, especially at this level with so many details and options. Game possibilities are pretty much endless, so it's impossible for developers to NOT make mistakes here and there. 1

But these little things is what makes a great awesome to making it the best ever. I am not knocking the game at all it is superb and very enjoyable and entertaining. They could also have it so you get a chance to get your stuff back from those whom killed you to be even better way to. Also gives you more to do again lol.

I honestly went through the main story way to fast, I am restarting and going back to do all of the side missions, challenges, and other stuff I may have missed.

Kean_1 Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 (edited) I can understand someone disagreeing with the mechanic but lazy? .....naw. It's just the way they designed the penalty system. You die, you lose you pelts. Who knows.... Maybe the animals were members of PETA. Save early, save often. ....btw, an example in my book of lazy programming is Ubisoft (IMO). GRW & FC5 to name two recent examples. Both could have been great games if they had half the passion, effort and creativeness R* shows in some of their game mechanics. Also, sports games. The games are all the same, just with different players. They reskin these games, add some minor feature nobody really cares about, slap a $60 price tag on it, and make it seem likes it's some incredible new game.

On console? .....yeah, I can see that for the most part. Although I am interested in Insurgency Sandstorm which will be coming to PS4 / XB1 next year. Small dev but at least it appears to be a decent tactical shooter for a change (more realistic damage, etc.). I think the only hope for those like me who enjoy more realistic, FPS shooters will be devs like these who bridge the gap from PC.

A bug, glitch, or issue may be happening because of the system it is running on and not the game. I am thoroughly impressed with what they did here.
