Vaping?

Really think Doctors should prescribe vaporizers for people looking to quit or really need to find a better way to quit. They all never recommend it, which is confusing when they tell you to quit everytime in their smartact ways. Heck they blame everything wrong that you went to them for is caused by smoking once knowing you smoke. Lets face the facts. Its only "better" for the reason you're not getting tar and smoke in your lungs.

Always raise a eyebrow that some people say "Oh, I've never smoked cigs before I started using this". What?! You do know this stuff is the rockafeller of smoking nicotine right? Plus e-juice is a heck of a lot easier to quit than tobacco itself. It was the only way for me to quit. Which makes me think is nicotine really that addictive or was it all the jet fuel and poisons that was the major addiction plus the habit of the "hand to mouth and exhale fixation". Which vaporizers help with. If only they do't leak all over anything.

Always thought smoking was dumb as a kid and vowed to never use them. Well high school came around life was always stressful and saw Eddie Van-Halen smoking and placing it on his head of his guitar. Dummy me smoked one felt more calm and chill than ever. Also thought "Man my guitar playing sounds so much better too" became a smoker and lived in misery every morning until vaporizers came around.

I think that most doctors haven't a clue what vaping is about or are afraid that it's their ass if they even mention non-AMA approved. Some doctors are just lazy a-holes that don't want deal with anything that isn't their specialty. My cardiologist has been very understanding with me. He doesn't give me condescending lectures about the dangers of smoking. No scare tactics. He knows I've heard it a thousand times before, so we just cut the crap. I tried Chantix a couple of times.  He has asked me about vaping several times. He hints its a better option but wont step over the line and I wont ask him to. (He has kids to feed) He also gets that I am a 70 year old man that's been smoking for 55 years.....and the damage has been done.

My step father was a hardcore alcoholic that spent years in treatment centers until he finally cleaned up. He once told me that quitting  smoking was far worse than quitting vodka. He quit both habits. My brother had a 10 year heroin habit and has been clean for 20 years....just cant give up the cigs.

My brother in law started vaping a month ago. His doctor told him that his blood/oxygen went way up...in less than a month. Says he feels a lot better too.

I picked up a mod last week. Coughed my guts out. I bought a low nicotine/ high VG blend today. Much better. Its a work in progress. I got nothing to lose.

I have gone to a couple vape lounges to pick up supplies. Lots of cloud chasers puffing strawberry shortcake scented dew. They had a Peewee's Playhouse vibe about them. Nicely dressed suburban folks looking chic. I didnt stick around to mingle.

There's a lot to learn on vaporizers. Once your mind decides that the vaporizer is better and more convenient than the cigarette. You'll be feeling like a new person hopefully. Just stick with it. When your mind does that strange signal thought of "I need a cigarette" just pause and overlap that thought of a cigarette with a "Got something better than a cigarette" then keep puffing that vaporizer.

Trick for me was waking up with no coffee or a cigarette and just puff that portable hooka that with everything costed $300. So the price and only a little bit of willpower helped me notice cigarettes taste terrible and was the reasons for feeling drowsy and tried throughout the day everyday. Not too fond of the "vape shops" either. See blowing vapor like a chimney around everyone in a room is rude in my eyes.

You'll cough alot at first. You'll also kinda feel the back of your throat start to clear up and almost feel like its "healing". Just make sure you use a reasonable wattage and temperature. Keep a eagle eye on the batteries. The tips of the battery can easily become chipped and can cause some unwanted sparks once being slotted in the mod itself.

Plus hearing nightmares on batteries from cellphones to mods exploding. Just make sure your batteries are in good shape and it probably wouldn't hurt to replace them every year or so.

Tried to get my father to use a vaporizer for years now. He's just too stubborn. It's pain though, seeing him cough up everything in the mornings when visiting him. While thinking "Man, all that can be erased if you just stick with the vaporizer". Do know everyone is different which implies everyone's addiction is somewhat different as well. But altering your mind to thinking the vaporizer is the cigarette itself is probably the key to noticing life is alot different without tar or ash and smoke surrounding you.

From my experience you've hit it right there.  Some institutions will not allow the MD's or PA's working there to offer alternative medicines, they have to toe the line so the institution get's the bucks and bonuses from the pharmaceutical companies they use.  I've been to some private practices where they've offered alternative medicines over prescriptions.  That's how i found out olive oil is a great topical anti-inflammatory.

With more and more states legalizing medical and recreational marijuana, it will be interesting to see how the medical community deals with that. When medical pot was started in my state, I asked my cardio what he thought about it. He was clueless. How could I blame him? He probably never smoked a joint in his life. (Or didnt inhale.)

There has to be a huge learning curve for them. What strains are they going to recommend for what ailments? Sativa's or Indica's? THC/CBD ratios? Methods of ingestion? What are the side effects? Calls in the middle of the night with patients asking if they are ever going come down!

This country has had its head up its butt for so long and thought that "Just say no" was going to make it all go away. We pittered away decades failing to do any honest research and learn the facts. Vaping is in the same boat but on a shorter timeline.

🤣  The theme of the 80's!  If you can't see it, it doesn't exist.

We legalized recreational pot in Michigan last election. (70%)

I was only hopping to be able drop a couple of seeds in the garden so that Grandma buttlint could make her famous brownies for the Christmas holidays. The grand kids love them and it calms them down when they are waiting for Santa.

The funny thing is that all of those folks that were so against pot, for all of those years, are now converting their IRA's for pot stocks. Investing in weeds is always a solid financial plan.👍

Quit smoking October 9th. At my most successful time at work I was chugging 60 Marlboro reds a day. Smoked since 16, 45 now. Quit for three years a few years back, but can hand on heart say that I constantly depressed and missed them like a lost lover. One bad day would always crush my willpower   usually relationship based.

When I quit I was smoking a couple of 10gramme pouches with menthol filters a week.  Now use menthol in a vape and have made it nearly six months so far. Feel better, but can smell a smoker from half a mile away now. Never dawned on me how bad it smells.

Each day I get fewer psychotic episodes. Down to 6mg strength and one 10 mil pot of juice per week  so 3 pounds sterling, instead of around 40. I couldn't make a cloud if I tried.

I am aware I'm still hooked on nicotine but I'm in a way better place thanks to the vape. Doctors pleased also. So is the family.

For those of you who vape...

I heard they are trying to get rid of fruit-flavored vaping liquids because of the kids using the stuff. Is this true in the US? My buddy is flipping out over it.

nope, here they ID you to buy if you look under 18. even the 0% nicotine liquids they won't sell to minors.

What I don't get is why there's so many people vaping now, that never smoked in their lives, it's almost become a fad I find.  I used to smoke don't get me wrong, but I quite some 5 years ago cold turkey.  Never had the notion to go and take up vaping.

It is a fad, nothing more.  it's the "healthy" way to smoke if you ask anyone near the end of the Millenials or Generation Z that is old enough.  Millennials started the fad, Generation Z are all sheep that follow the coolest new thing, stereotypical teenagers.

That is true, my generation did start it, and now the young kids are all following.  I never saw much point.
