Why is there no more missions???

So I started playing Red Dead online the other day when it was released it’s loads of fun but there is a few glitches/bugs I’ve encountered that really pissed me off I may make a new topic for that. Anyway I did about 6 missions for Horley the last one being the one at Fort Mercer but since then no more missions have popped up other than stranger/Alden and other little side missions like that. Why haven’t any new story missions come up for me yet? I’ve been running around for 2 real life days just doing those side missions waiting for a real actual paying mission to come up but nothing. Is this a glitch on my end or was there only a set amount of missions for the beta and the rest will start popping up after the actual release??

If you hit left on the d pad, you access the quick menu, where you can redo the missions, but ya, there is a lack of mission content right now. Or maybe you have to get to a much higher level for them to open.

According to another poster it's based off choices made at the start.  I have the same problem.  It might be you have to choose all honourable paths to get 100%.

I was told I had chosen the way of the gunslinger ...what were you told?

Without even trying my honor is all the way up I guess😂 idk how cuz I’m doing stupid stuff all the time but yea stuck at 75% with no more missions which kind of sucks cuz what do I do now... I’m tired of doing stranger missions they’re all pretty similiar and don’t pay crap.. I mean I can do the death match stuff or races I guess but otherwise I’m gonna be pretty bored till the actual online launches. Have we heard when that may be??

Yes, its very easy to get max honour just by looking after your horse and hunting - both give honour increase! 

Even though I murder random passers-by in cold blood sometimes, and make dishonourable story choices every time, I'm still max honour with the gold buckle - just because I also slaughter animals on a regular basis!  Weird system ...

Those 6 missions are final for this beta phase i guess. That lady who gets you wants from prison wants you to kill 4 people who are responsible for her husband. At Fort Mercer (last quest) you killed the first one and I think its where it ends for now. It will ofc continue once early beta is behind us.

Do stranger missions, participate in events/pvp modes/races. Oh boy those races, they are really cool btw.

Maybe no more missions because it is an online mp game and we have to make our own missions of sorts. That's why the posse system seems to be the big push and NOT single player mission style.

Yeah, I think Rockstar will add more missions when the official version comes out. This is just a beta, meaning this is practically a sample of Red Dead Online.

So it looks like the (at least some) missions may be gated behind ranks, just hit 18 and a new story mission popped up on my map.  Unless Rockstar just added them recently for everyone, and i just never noticed.

Edit: After getting to it, ended up being one I've done, at least through the quick menu, but for some reason, it was a new yellow area on my map.  Which still could mean that nobody has ranked up enough to unlock other ones.

Maybe by rank then because i'm rank 16 and see no other story mode missions.

Nope rank 18 now still no more then they 6 online story missions

Not sure what it was then that triggered it.  It was a mission I'd done several times via quick join. Soon after I hit 18, I noticed a new yellow area on my map.  Went to it, started the mission, did it again anyways thinking it wasn't new, and got a ton of money for it.  Only had like $30 after buying things just before, and after the mission was up to $170.  Maybe from my honor shifting, started as a bandit, switched to positive honor after a while.  That could be something they changed already, no need to start a new character.  Not sure tho.

Yeah, that'll be it, Krooked. I just hit 'positive' honor by hunting (Skinning animals is really honorable, considering I shoot passerbys and loot them fairly often.)

Suddenly I unlocked the "Gunslinger" path. Dammit. I want to be dishonorable! LET ME DAMMIT!

I think to open up more missions you need to have high/low honor - depending upon what you already have.  If you've been doing high honor - go low, or vice versa.

Yep ,have seen it today. You must go below half of honor and i get 2 extra missions. Total of 8 story missions now and 100%. When there are more missions i like to now. For ppl how have high honor just go to Saint Dennis and begin kill the ppl there (not online players just the AI ppl) i whas from top off Honor to just below half way in an half our that way.

Seeing as this was posted in 2018 im not sure if you're still active on here, but I started rdr2 online about a week ago, so surely the beta phase is over and done with. I've done those 6 Horley missions and it's been about a day and no other missions have come up. You're obviously a lot further ahead in the game than I am so I was wondering if any other Horley missions appeared after those first 6?

It's been quite awhile since I originally played the start of online, but something I'll experience again as I'm restarting the online experience from scratch. I can't remember 100% the amount of missions, but I do remember honor having a lot to do with which ones arose and when.
