What aspect of the story would make it bad?

Recommended Posts

I honestly don't think they can possibly mess this up if it is going to be a story that runs into RDR1's story. Like the whole prequel thing. It would actually be harder for them to mess it up when you think about it.

I guess maybe if the story didn't like up with the last one. Like they missed details but even then, it wouldn't ruin it for me.

Bad red eye mechanics. I know it isn't entirely down to the story for that but it makes the epic fight scenes worth doing. If they don't do it right I will feel like I am dragging my feet through those moments.

This. If they feel off or too cheesy it will ruin the parts of the story for me where it is necessary to use. There were a few things in the last one that I was a bit put off by but I am sure they will make it the best it has ever been.

Hmm I didn't even think of the red eye. That would suck if they made it different and for the worse. Still though, I can't say that would ruin the story for me so much as just game play. I get what you mean but it isn't something that would bug me too much.

Without knowing pretty much anything at the moment I guess I'd have to say the one way they could ruin it was if they have it end when you've completed the campaign. I very much doubt they'll do this (like Fallout 3 did initially before it's expansions and DLC) but it would suck if they did.

I'd also hate it if they didn't at least include enough enjoyable distractions (like gambling, side-quests, etc.) but instead made it purely about the campaign. Again something I don't expect but it would ruin it for me.

Lastly the lack of any additional single-player content (expansion, DLC, etc.) that extends the game by adding more story (ala Undead Nightmare or similar story additions like what the included with GTA IV). They seemed to have really focused purely on the online mode for GTA V so this makes me think they might do the same with RDR2 which would be very sad if the main campaign turns out to be something special.

I guess it comes down to their online focus with GTA V that has me a little worried for RDR2 and it's longevity for solo "offline" players .

I was going to say about the same thing. Like I am okay with online play but the reason I would be getting the game is for the story. That is why I want the game. The online end will just be a nice bonus.
