Do weapon wraps do anything or are they just cosmetic?

I think they are supposed to slow the degradation of the weapon by 10% or something like that. Don't know of it works.

I believe they are purely cosmetic, unfortunately.

No not at the moment. If you use the weapon often it degrades quite quickly.

On the Xbox One, when you highlight the wrap, there's a graphic that shows you that nothing is improved. Upgrading the barrel for instance, if you lengthen the barrel or rifle it you will see the improvement it makes when hovering the cursor over that item. The wrap doesn't do anything for any of my weapons.

The wrap reduces the frequency that a weapon degrades, so you clean it less wit a wrap on it. Well... At least in single player, anyway..

They slow the degradation of weapons so you don't have to clean them as often.

The wraps absolutely slow the degradation of your weapons. It doesn't show it but I believe it's said or written somewhere in the one player game. Another thing I'm curious about is the stock, I believe upgrading the stock lessens the rifle from swaying slightly side to side or up and down. I think I read that somewhere but can't recall where.

 Yes in single player it does work, but NOT ONLINE!

I know its not scientific but I bought them for mine and didn't notice any difference (online).  

I really wish R* would provide feedback on items like these as to what (if any) advantage they have in-game.  For things like saddles it's easy to see their effect because they have descriptions showing what they are.  Are these others things simply cosmetic or are they intended to provide a benefit?
