Many thanks Sigill for the warm welcome and advice, it is an amazingly rendered game and a delight to explore. Deacon's Regulators must be your posse? Hope to see you some time!

It's not my business if someone is trolling people in the game and if they want to wrap that in the guise of "just in fun" or "role playing", so be it. That's between them, R* and their victims. .....but to come here, confess you are a griefer and then prod other members on a highly contentious topic (which they would know if they really did bother to read this 3 page topic), that's not ok IMO. It's not "role playing" for someone to admit they are griefer in the game and then come here to troll community members. That's trolling plain and simple. They are looking to get a rise out of some people in this community and incite conflict with those remarks. btw, the warning / explanation I provided was already what I would consider a courtesy. I don't think I've been clear enough, by griefing I simply mean killing somebody who is not hostile/just going about their business. That is acting as an outlaw. It's a game about the wild west. I do not mean following them across the map (in most circumstances) nor across servers. Just a bit of fun killing someone a few times, maybe feuding then leaving it be (if I win). It's a game, relax. If you don't like other players shooting you then perhaps there are other titles that would suit your sensitivities. Calling people who get shot in a video game where that is both enabled and encouraged is just being overly dramatic. Again, it is a game. Serious question, when a bear or cougar rips me off my horse and mauls me are they trolling/griefing or is it just part of the game? Oh just so you know - as you rank up you can also rank up the ability cards & at least 2 will mitigate headshot & repetitive shot damage & others decrease damage received if you are running or using a certain type of weapon, so don't be surprised if that headshot you send down the range just leaves someone hatless & enraged Had a guy drop a shot on me for no reason a few days ago - I think I killed him 4 times before he logged off! Have fun!

Have fun! Oh awesome, thanks heaps for that tip that's very useful! Last night myself and another players horse crashed in town. I then proceeded to shoot that player. We went back and forth, we feuded though I only had my shotgun attached and the play zone was on an open plain so I got smoked 4-1. When we respawned in town....I rode them down, shot their horse and then shot them. Some members will be pleased to hear I was then hunted to extinction by 3-4 players and hassled relentlessly until I quit. It was good fun and I was still giggling to myself over the horse shooting incident as I was brushing my teeth and again when I got in to bed. 1

Serious question, when a bear or cougar rips me off my horse and mauls me are they trolling/griefing or is it just part of the game? I am relaxed but to be honest, I could do without the condescending remarks. The only reason I gave you the warning was because I saw a new guy necro-bumping an over 1 year old thread for the obvious purpose of trolling community members who take issue with griefing in-game. This is already an obviously contentious, long-standing concern in the RDO community so much so that R* early on has taken steps to mitigate through many updates, in-game mechanics, etc. throughout RDO's life. As I've already said but I will repeat for clarification, I don't care what you do in the game (I really don't) but I do take issue when someone tries to troll members in these forums. I was being courteous by approving your first post and explaining that to you vs. going with my gut reaction, deleting it and maybe following up with a warning so I don't have to go through all of this. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions and I'll be happy to answer but I really don't want to get into an argument with someone in a public thread regarding issues you may have with our forum rules or moderator decisions. Otherwise, carry on. Thank You 1

Welcome to the forum After that statement i might even come back playing just to meet you out there. You cant even imagine... 😈 Are you on X box? I had a "griefer" streak going from 250 to about 320 rank but honestly it gets boring fast. Currently rank 440 and stopped playing (waiting for new content i think in december this year). So i was sticking with : When i see you running towards me or too close to me you get shot. When i see you making a long delivery ill attack and take your goods. Otherwise i dont attack. To be honest i like when some1 attack's me first and then i retaliate. 1

Thank you and haha do it man, come out of retirement! What you have described is pretty much where I'm at now....busy trying to stack my gold bars and level up although if I am down near the swamps and see a blue dot I can't help but top try and lasso them and feed them to the gators. Gators gotta eat too ya know.... Are you in Australia? My brother who's copy of the game I borrowed after hearing of the fun I'm having has suggested I get a copy so we can make a posse and wreak havoc....the more the merrier On 10/30/2020 at 7:53 PM, James Hickok_1837 said: 1
Kean_1 Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 Closing this thread as it ran its course over a year ago before it was necro bumped and diverted from the original intention which was not as a tool to help some to troll others in-game nor on this forum. For those wishing to create a posse, there is a sub forum for that but please remember that the same rules apply. 1 1 1
