Ability cards since Tuesday's update

So, I was running Slow and steady with a few others, I swap them out but tried several, but slow and steady itself seems like it is not protecting me very much at all compared to before.

I am thinking of going back to PIB which also free's up a slot that I was using the one that slows dead eye drain, and replacing it with peak condition, strange medicine and the other one that restores health as you deal out damage of the one that makes it so each consecutive shot does more and more damage.

What are you guys using?

What is the most popualr working combo right now?

I have Slippery, PIB and Slow and steady for dead eye cards, Slippery has its place, like capture the flag type games, but I dont use it in showdown or last man standing or name your weapon.

I am going to try PIB today and se how that is working.

When all else fails, explosive ammo, incendiary ammo and dyno arrows, lol
If I cant get head shots, Ill just go postal with the dynamite.

When I'm going up against hordes of NPCs,  I like to go with slow and steady, unblinking  eye, eye for an eye and cold blooded. For pvp situations, I tend to go more with slow and steady, horsemanship(if my horse is available, come back stronger if not), peak condition and winning streak.

I agree, I was using Slow & Steady all the time, but it seems like it's broken or R* nerf it. So I use this now.

For Free Roam: I don't shoot unless shot at. So I run this.

For PvP Modes: I switch out Never Without One with To Fight Another Day. Since I just run around tackling players & executing them. Find that more fun then trying to get top score.

For PvE, I use this: The combination of  Quite an Inspiration (Health while Deadeye is active) , plus  Strange Medicine & Eye for an Eye.

Most of the time, I'm at full health and full Deadeye while killing bots in Deadeye. Since Eye for an Eye now works while Deadeye is active. Constant full  deadeye mainly works if you're getting head shots.

Slow and Steady basically boils down to taking an extra bullet or two..maybe three.   Seems to work much better against npcs.

PIB is good for quick shots.  Where you aim, and turn on PIB for split second and then instantly shoot. Which avoids waiting for the weapon bloom to settle down.   Instead of using it to paint targets.

Slippery Bastard is perfect for free aim players...  Especially at longer range.  When using Slippery Bastard against players who suck at free aim, you will simply destroy them all.  Also works wonders against NPCS.

But if someone is good at free aim and uses either PIB or Slow and Steady against someone using Slippery Bastard.   Then the person using PIB or Slow and Steady has the advantage.      With Slippery Bastard on, PIB users can basically just fire rapidly with perfect aim the whole time.  With Slow and Steady you can simply take more damage then the Slippery Bastard player.

So never without one still doesnt work anymore right?

I see people running so I wonder if it got fixed or they just dont care, it was great before the patch, but now it seems like if they hit you in the neck, or side of the head you die regardless so it kind of made is useless.

I’m pretty sure nwo is now set to just block shots directly to the hat... Though I haven’t experimented much to confirm.

Yeah, I believe you are right.

I have a pretty strong set up currently and PIB with shotty in showdown large is crazy sweet!!

I just did my daily challenges and one was kill 3 players with a rifle in a free roam event, so I jumped into Fools gold with a Springfield and PIB and wow, that was great, I went like 8 -1 before I quit, I didnt finsih the round although I am sure I would have had double digit kills with less than 5 deaths had I stayed, it was really dialed, I am loving it.

Until Tuesday when I am assuming they will dial it back, tweak two others and leave us guessing again, so....

For now, PIB is killing it.

I really enjoyed NWO and S&S but both are useless currently.

Slow and Steady (my personal favorite) was nerfed big time in pvp. Seems to work ok against the npc's tho. At this point it became usless in pvp. Same goes to NWO - didnt really use it that much.

I use a variety of cards depending on the situation im in. I have all 24 cards on tier 3 so many to pick from. Unfortunately there are quite a number of usless cards (at least in current update state)

The biggest disappointment for me was the Short Game card (increase dmg from close distance / decrease dmg from long dis). I really thought it will combine well with shotguns and pistols/revolvers. The range is so low You have to be really really close to the victim for it to work. Less then half of  effective shotgun range...

Cards like Hangman, The gift of focus, A moment to recuperate, Take the pain away are usless atm.

I really liked my pvp setup : S&S + Unblinking Eye + eye for eye + Cold blooded   - doesnt work now so need to find another i like for most pvp games.

I like to use : SB + Unblinking eye + To fight another day + Of single purpose  - Pvp run around and kill ppl with knives, machette etc :D

I use same on "steal goods" games and focus only on stealing and delivering.

In free roam mostly i use DMG setup for hunting. I dont use bow for hunting - Bolt action + Varmint is good for me.

Focus fire + Horseman + Landon's patience+peak condition - One shot in the biggest game will always kill the animal even if You missed the heart / head it will bleed out fast and there is no need to ruin the pelt with 2nd shot.

On co-op missions i like to use cards that regenerate health for whole team (Quite an inspiration) it regenerates health pretty fast and does not break when shot at. Same with focus fire - its good boost to dmg for the lower lvl ppl playing with You - and less chance to fail the mission.

I still havent decided about the main pvp build but im thinking

1 st : PiB + Hunker down + Winning streak + Peak condition

2nd PiB + Hunker Down + Winning streak + Cold blooded

3rd PiB + Hunker down + Winning streak + Landon's patience

Or same ones but Focus Fire instead of PiB - need to run some tests.

At the end there is no "BEST" card layout. I change them quite frequently depending on situation and play style.

I was watching a trial of NWO online. It seemed to demonstrate that a shot from throat to nose will still kill first shot. Nose to hat NWO will work. In their trial though, only 25% of headshots struck nose up.

It also showed that on defensive mode you should be able to take 2 shots to head rather than 1. 3-4 to the body rather than 1-3.
