Weight Gain Post Updates

Seems I've been neglecting my weight since the latest update and I'm back down to being a scrawny nag.  I much prefer to be a fat, bloated, no buckle showing, bullet sponge and would rather have the + to health vs. stamina.

Is pounding the big game meat still the best method for rapid weight gain?  or does anybody know if anyone has been able to put together an itemized calorie chart?

How many pieces do you estimate it took to put the pounds on?  If needed, I'm going to setup camp in the swamp and swallow 10 pieces at a time... rinse and repeat.

My guess is you'll be fat, bloated, no buckle showing, bullet sponge in no time at all.  Ten pieces at a time, I think you'll be morbidly obese after a day or two and need a crane to get you onto your horse :)

Excellent... to the swamp I go.

I also recall a good tip, from back in the early days, when it was impossible to put on weight... after consuming your desired amount of consumables, check in with cripps / wilderness outfitters, then simply back out... unless it has changed with the past updates, the game treats this as a "save"... good for saving your weight gain progress in a pinch

I’m always fat... but then again I maintain my cores by eating meat all the time lol

yeah... I gotta get back to this... the weight system now feels like you lose weight much more rapidly if you're not constantly slamming the highly fatty meats... back to the big game meat and plump bird for dessert diet

BTW... LOVE the Jim Lahey pic 🥃 Randy Bo Bandy out on the track pimping for cheeseburgers... LMAO

I have never been anything else than under weighted. I tryed once to eat a lot of meat, but it didn't have any effect, tryed with cookies and chocolate too, but nothing happens. So now i eat very seldom. Tryed to change my weight even when i played the story, but it never happens anything to it. So i dont really understand how it works. Once i eat 20 cooked meat but nothing happen.

In order for it to take effect you will have to fast travel / join a mission / have some kind of loadscreen. After you fast travel you will see your heart icon display an arrow up for gaining weight or an arrow down for losing weight (If you don't eat for a few in-game days).

So if you eat 10 meat and stay in a server for an hour without fast traveling you will not see any difference. So just eat 10 meats and fast travel you should see a difference in your stats.

If you don't notice anything after fast traveling, you might have a glitch.

Ok, have to test it.

seems like 20 big game minus approx. 8 hours of gameplay, majority hunting, fishing, dailies, hideouts, randoms, crafting, foraging... and I am now average weight @ + 4.5 damage taken... a lot of canned goods and bread chunks etc thrown in too

gotta step up the big game intake but so easy to get sidetracked lately

Best Foods for weight management/nutrition -

Cheese Wedge - Good bump to Health and Deadeye cores with fortification - doesn't make you fat.  (as fast)

Chocolate Bar - Good bump to Stamina and Deadeye cores - doesn't make you fat.  (as fast)

Raw Carrot - Good bump to all cores - doesn't make you fat.  (as fast)  Good for your horse when out of oatcakes too!

Prime Steaks (Buffalo) - Puts weight on fast!  - Hop servers every 4-5 pieces you eat.  You'll be a fat@ss quick!

Minty, Oregano, Thyme, Big Game Meats - Use only for competitive events for the Core fortifications they provide - Will make you fat!

Alcohol -  Lots, and lots, of Alcohol.  And Cigars!  To round out the occasional top off on Dead eye and Stamina.

If you stick to Cheese Wedges, Chocolate Bars, Cigars and Alcohol you will be able to maintain the right weight that you want pretty easily and still keep your cores pretty close to max at all times.  I believe cheese, Guarma Rum, Chocolate bars and Carrots provide the best overall core replenishment for the money without dramatically increasing your weight like prime beef and big game meats, which should be used only for targetted situations where you may need the additional perks or weight gain.

Canned foods, biscuits, salted meats, etc. are all pretty much a waste of money, time and calories.  They simply do not provide enough core replenishment or fortification to be worth saving and eating.  You have to eat too much of it to actually provide any worthwhile replenishment.

Next week, on the Chuck Wagon Hour with Cripps McGee ...  "How to bone filet a Steel Head Trout."

(Disclaimer - this is just from memory (at work) and may not be 100% factual)
