I hevnt been playing rdr2 long but fancy finding some easy going like minded to play with.  I just want to find a posse of players who like to join up and ride together without the need to be shooting all the time.  My question is, how likely is it to find players like this or is the online exeprience just a griefer / pvp melting pot?

Thanks in advance for any help

I am just like you, except I am a loner and always have been throughout my 40 year gaming history.

You will find like minded folks if you have a headset and microphone. I have met a few exceptional players.

I am very similar minded, I often enjoy just plodding about and completing a few missions without the need for hunting every other player down.  So I am to presume online you are able to do it solo as well as with others

I bet there are groups like that but the majority is just like You said.

Im a lone wolf like Jnaron_ngc and found nice ppl as well. I only join or create posse to make the daily.

There is a section in this forum to find a posse. I bet there is a posse out there that You are looking for,

EDIT : You can achieve everything the game offers solo or in group. My personal opinion is that i do it better/faster solo. I like to take my time while playing and not rushing from mission to mission that is mainly the reason for solo play. If i want confrontation with other players i just join pvp.

I'm sure you can find a group. I have run/ran with various posses since launch. It can be fun but also can get annoying. People have silly "tryouts" for posses, ridiculous politics, childish behavior, enormous egos, wasting time, in fighting, massive levels of insecurity ,etc. I honestly prefer to run solo these days because I don't want to play Daddy/babysitter/bodyguard anymore. You also rank up very quickly doing this. With everyone running to play GTA currently, this is a perfect time to start. You can make plenty of money/xp solo. I had a player pop shot me yesterday when I was AFK . I killed him once and he  parleyed me and left the server. Sadly the most action I have seen all week online.

There are a lot of low levels now in most servers who are all just trying to rank up. So I would use that to your advantage . Good luck finding a posse that suits your needs. But in the meantime I would get your solo grind on. You don't have people shooting you 24/7 as some would like you to believe. It has been very chill for awhile now. Hell, you can go hours without seeing anyone.

Funny how you don't understand the concept or don't like it so you use condescending words.

But as he stated you can find groups that have "childish behaviors", "silly tryouts" and "ridiculous politics" who try to immerse themselves in a game trying to create something bigger than what the game has to offer beyond the grind.

Or

You can find a bunch of casual gamers who literally just want to hunt and fish non-stop. As others have said the Posse section has various types of players and crews also alternatively you can go on the LFG section of you're an Xbox player, tons of grinding 30 second Stranger mission people

Haha. Ok dude. Relax. Condescending? Please. Like you if I have something to say, I will say it. There are good and bad groups out there. Shame on me for wanting someone to be cautious. I hope he does find a group....but hope it is the right one.

@Kilgore74,

There are plenty of decent folks out there that you can team up with.  Even if it's just one or two friends, it can make a difference in the experience as long as you're all on the same page.

I would take advantage of our Posse Recruitment page here and let others know what you're looking for in a group:

https://www.rdr2.org/forums/forum/16-posse-recruitment/

You can also try the Posse Directory here:

https://www.rdr2.org/forums/clubs/

Sometimes just playing with a bunch of random people will help you discover that one person you find to be a perfect match.  Networking is not a particularly easy thing to do when you're just starting out.  It takes some effort but once you start to find people you can play with, then it becomes much easier as friends of friends join, etc.

It's just a matter of finding those folks that share the same interests you do and they are definitely out there.  .....it just takes a little while to build your list with some games.
