YodaMan 3D
I love RDR, yet with another setback. I am feeling less the need to own this game. I am all for putting out the best game possible. The market gets flooded with games most bad but a few shiny apples from time to time. I start to think is Rockstar even trying or do they assume we will just wait till they get done. Kean_1
....and what makes you believe they are not trying? I can understand your disappointment. .....I'm disappointed too. Quite frankly though, it's not going to change my mind when the game finally arrives. I will still gladly make the purchase as will many, many others. Whether its available now or 8 months from now, it's still a game I have been waiting for ever since I played the first iteration. ....this delay won't change that. Reyes
A delay doesn't mean they aren't trying. They want the game out more than the gamers, trust me. I have a friend who devs indy games in California. When a game he helped work on comes out, he is high on it. He loves the feedback and everything. It isn't like they are pussy footin' around on us. They never set a real date, until now that is.

I just want them to get the game right and I'm sure they realize that a half-hearted attempt is not an option for this title. They already set the benchmark with GTAV and if RDR2 proves to be on the same scale of success, R* will further forge their reputation in the gaming industry. .....anything short of that will likely draw sharp criticism simply due to the high level of expectation. YodaMan 3D
My recent views on the gaming industry have changed since I was a kid. Yet since the days of PONG! the games always seemed to be about getting the best game out that you could. Rarely was I ever disappointed. Then I GTA5 came out, great game, loved the campaign and I have played it I can't tell you how much. Online, I got tired of the toxicity and griefing pretty quick. I got the Division and that game was about toxicity and griefing. Since it seems that is the way the industry has been leading and from what leaks I have heard RDR2 seems to be heading down the same road. Now like most of you I have been wanting this game since I loaded RDR in my console. I couldn't wait for it. Rumors out that it was on the table, yet Rockstar never said a word. Even now they are very reluctant with what they say. As much as I would prefer it to be more like the original, I have a feeling it will be more of what I don't like then what I do. Maybe my expectations are too high, though I did read somewhere that they were expecting to focus more on extending the story as much as they do online, but only time will tell. Kean_1
Personally, I still had a lot of fun playing GTAV online in solo mode and friends only mode. There are other options on how to play that game online other than in the general mix. ....where I do agree it is nothing more than a grief-fest. You will still get invites for missions from randoms if you want to as well invite others to fill empty slots in your crew without having to be in a general population session. I have even played in the general session mode by myself or with friends to take advantage of some of the VIP missions that you can only play in that mode. On PS4 it's as simple as changing your MTU settings and then the game won't match you with anyone when you join. If I had one major complaint about GTA online it would be that. R* forces players to play in a general session if they want to build some of their businesses. .....although you still have some flexibility with MC operations. If they would allow it to be invite only, I would be happy. Pong? .....sounds like you've been gaming as long as I have (since the 70s). My first console was a Bally Arcade. My first "real" PC (not counting my Commodore) that I was able to buy for myself had a 386 processor (the SX variant if I recall). .....exciting stuff back then. Looney Dan
Gaming isn't like it was in the 90's, not by a long shot. Honestly, the games have gotten better and more developed but a high number of gamers are horrible. Maybe it is because they are a bunch of crying kids who throw fits to get their way through life and become adults who you just don't want anything to do with.. But that is a different topic for a different time. As par the OP. I think you are getting a bit carried away in the sense that they "aren't trying". If they weren't trying, we would have gotten a copy/paste GTA V game with little updating other than graphics from RDR... Hell, if they weren't trying, why bother with RDR2 at all? ZLion
If you think a setback means they aren't trying, what would you classify as them trying? To me, it just looks like they want to get the game right and working at a higher standard than the last one (GTA V).
