CoD Black Ops 4 "Scared" of RDR2??

Red Dead Redemption 2 probably won't be quite the juggernaut that GTA V was but it's still bound to be a huge release. If Activision released Black Ops IIII in the first week of November, it would fall directly in the wake of Rockstar's beast. Perhaps just as importantly, it's very likely that EA's Battlefield game---WWII themed Battlefield V---will launch in late October. Battlefield 1 launched on October 21st, 2016. Battlefield 4 came out on October 29th, 2013. It's entirely possible that EA will also move up that release due to Rockstar's domination at the end of the month, but now early October is a much less appealing window.

Read that on Forbes here: https://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2018/03/08/call-of-duty-black-ops-4-is-scared-of-red-dead-redemption-2/#14183c7c6e35

This is a bit old news, but I really didn't even consider this. I mean this is a good thing, right?? Devs behind a game like Call of Duty are worried.

I don't think they are worried their games won't match up, they are worried the people who have to manage their spending will choose RDR2 over their game when they first release. This increases the odds of them getting the game on sale then and them not making as much money.

I would choose spending $100 on a jar of air over buying COD.

Those games are copy/paste and have been for the longest time. Last one I enjoyed was Black Ops II and that was only because of the people I was playing with. They should be worried cause of gamers like us who won't waste money on their crap.

This just comes down to money. No matter how bad games like CoD get, they still sell. They just want to meet their quotas. I get that Devs would rather sell their games in the first 3 months of release an all but they can't expect everyone to be able to buy every game they want when they come out. I only buy games new if I really am invested in them.

I don't think it is fair to say that it is always down to money. Some devs actually do care about their fanbase. I would consider CoD makers to be those who just don't. They just want money and it has shown more and more over the years as it became a "mainstream" game in the sense that people of all ages play it, experiences and unexperienced.

I think I am more scared of Rockstar than CoD makers. Think about it. We have been waiting all this time for this game and what if it tanks!?

Sheesh this made me laugh. Sorry for the shameless bump to this thread but as funny as this is, there is some truth here. Sad truth.

I said that about a month ago after having people fill my head. Since the latest trailer, I think we will be fine. haha
