That being said, as a money maker, you can pull $25 out of a decent hand at these tables... people seem reluctant to back off after the first dollar gets tossed in... on the other hand, you get taken down by some pretty bad beats on the river sometimes2 points

I don't think I've played lemmings in the last 20 years to be honest. It does suit most of my pvp attempts though. From a quick check I'm 6 hours ahead of you so there's a chance of an admittedly short overlap depending on the day. Arthur's Angels were kind enough to let me ride with them earlier this week as well. A good bunch. It was strange to see one suicidal player charge a seven strong posse a few times before doing the very basic math and moving on.2 points

I'm on ps4 pro and haven't had any PVP loading errors since update and I'm probably going on 3 hrs of pvp I do more frequently go right from black screen right into a match now with a little "matchmaking " message on bottom. I had 3 crashes last 2 days in free roam is about it I would probably try cleaning the cache (rebooting while holding the L1 and R1). It's probably what R* support would tell you to try1 point

.....and no one is saying trolls will stop being trolls. Of course they will find new ways to exploit features like this but the point some of us are making is that it likely won't be the ominous, "dark future" being painted here. Similar things were being said about the gameplay back when the blips / proximity changes were implemented and it didn't happen then either. None of us are saying the system is perfect or that it won't require tweaking along the way. ....even R* admits this. I just don't see it being the complete disaster some people seem to be portraying it as.1 point

I’m sure a gun rack or weapons wagon or something similar will show up at some point. Maybe the wagon driver could be Cripps’ brother, Chipps..1 point

Yeah, I get it, no worries. I haven’t really experienced a serious poker game in the old west yet anyway. It seems mostly tables full of people screwing around, putting their $5 in on some of the lowest hands possible before the flop. Thinking about it, a combination of low limit ‘fun’ tables, high buy in no limit tables, with the current tables around for the semi-serious and/or broke players would leave a table for just about every taste.1 point

So, what's your plan for travel by canoe? Some of the awards are just ludicrous, if I can't see myself achieving them through enjoying playing the game I ignore them.1 point

I'm not trying to start an argument, but yes, it does matter. There's a fundamental difference between playing a high stakes and low stakes game. $25 buy in, 20c ante, $5 hand limit is low stakes. You can never lose more than $5 on a single hand. Then, if you make it 'no limits' betting, it doesn't work because the risk is still capped by the low buy-in, and if you significantly increase the ante (say to $5) you burn through your buy in in no time at all. In the sort of game that is there at the moment it's impossible to replicate the game experience that Arthur has in the story mode. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying all of the poker should be high stake, no limit, but I think it would be cool if one of them was, and St Denis is the place. Likewise, taking account of the sort of views expressed by Kean, maybe there should be a cheaper (say $5 buy in, 5c ante) game at one of the smaller towns, so that people can participate for the fun of the game without feeling like they are risking a significant chunk of their hard earned $$$s1 point

I’m not sure I’d expect to survive a point blank shotgun blast (or two?) to the back whatever mode I’m in.1 point

I usually roll with dual sawn offs... but I couldn’t resist getting a couple LeMattes today. I think I like them... only one shell each, but they can still fill the shotgun roll (if you use more than two shotgun blasts to kill someone, you either did it wrong or are overkilling) plus a pair of 9 shot revolvers... for long guns, I like the bolt action with scope, and either a varmit rifle or the Evans. I probably don’t have the ‘best’ load out, but I don’t care. I just use the guns I like.1 point

Then this update should benefit you. Now when people attack you, you can retaliate without getting a red blip or racking up bounty. The ‘kill tax’ only applies if you choose to ride around and attack people... and even then, if you pick on the red blip populations, you still won’t rack up any bounty or aggressive status...1 point

No joke. I wish I could unload some guns simply because I don't want to scroll through them. Maybe at some point when we get properties they'll allow us to use a gun cabinet similar to how GTA works.1 point

But they could make the St Denis game $100 buy in and no limit, for example.1 point

Personally, I could care less about free-aim. I won’t use it even if it was an option. I care about playing the game, not about perfecting my thumb flicking skills. I wouldn’t play a monopoly game that requires me to hop from sidewalk square to sidewalk square to move my thimble either. Or play a D&D game that required me to sword fight with a wii controller to win a combat encounter. My character can shoot as well as he shoots and minimal input from me tells him where I want him to shoot. Besides, flicking sticks or wiggling mouses is so far from actual shooting I could never get into it. So far, I’m happy where the game is right now. We have options to be however you want to be with an actual attempt at balance with restrictions and consequences.... I want to be defensive? Well, no auto aiming people when they’re guard is down and sever penalties to my bounty and aggressive player status if I try for the cheap shot. But I can also avoid the one shot instakill cheap shot while I’m fishing or skinning an animal. want to be offensive? Well, fine, free for all anyone you want. Someone else doesn’t like it; well, your bounty and hostility go way up. Want to hunt down and hunt aggressive layers? Well, go nuts. Want to shoot a defensive player who just wants to fish? Well, you can, but they’re harder to hit, harder to kill, and you’ll pay in bounty and hostility level. this is the balance many we’re asking for. Not many were asking to be completely immune from others. They just wanted consequences for people that randomly murder others for no reason and the ability to fight back if they choose without getting into trouble. Im also looking forward to these ‘paths’. It sounds like an interesting dynamic that will allow one to immerse themselves into a character and the world rather than just hunting for profit or killing out of boredom. I definitely think this update is a good thing and the start of the RDR I want to play.1 point

RDO simply didn't become the free-for-all PvP experience some wanted. No offense, but as suggested, this "dark future" is really a matter of perspective. For me, I see it in an entirely opposite light. I am sorry RDO didn't develop the way the OP wanted it (separate lobbies, free aim ,etc.). However, since this has always been a "one mode" option since launch and especially now that it's apparently confirmed that it will stay that way, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't relieved (and satisfied) with the direction R* has taken the game thus far. Some kept painting a picture that RDO was, would be or should be a "free for all" kind of game just like GTAO. Well, if the truth wasn't apparent before, it should be now. Personally, I'm loving the changes so far and I see a bright future for RDO if they can keep up with content like this. Definitely interested in some off the plans they outlined for this Summer.1 point

You have to access them from the Launch menu to start. After that they will lead you from one to another. They do pick up where you left off but IMO much better.1 point

I like them both, after owning them both I chose the Trotter, although the Turkoman has a better disposition at times. However the Trotter is faster and quicker. Even if you dont go all out with an upgraded saddle and stir ups. I hit level 89 tonight and I was thinking about this again. I think I still love my fast travel post the best, then the Trotter, then maybe the Dual Mausers, they are nasty in a fight, I rapid fired three guys in a gun fight, all at once, they came at me in a group, it was amazing, that combo is deadly. Once I can buy the dynamite arrow pamphlet that will most likely replace my favorite purchase, a few more levels, only one more level for the repeater explosive ammo, it is starting to get easier everyday.1 point

you can find all the song birds flying around the grasslands and hills south and soutwest of Emerald Station. Watch the sky for the small birds, they're easy to miss. sometimes you'll scare them up from the shrubs too while riding around. They're also all along the dakota river from where it empties into Flat Iron Lake up to the waterfall. ride the river edge and you'll find them sitting on the rocks and fallen down trees. random spawn, so i shoot every one i see to get a different (maybe) spawn the next time by. Riding from the waterfall at morning to the lake, then camp at the lake and ride back to the waterfall the next morning (usually takes a full day to ride that) got me all the song birds and other birds i needed, except the owl.1 point
