Hey, I have a question. I played RDRO yesterday, Defensive Mode, I was fishing at my favorite salmon spot and then a griefer showed up and attacked me. I let him take one shot, and then a second one (because I really can't be bothered with this kind of thing, I just want to play the game in peace) but when he tried to run me down with his horse I grabbed my Bolt Action Rifle and shot him. The game then basically said "you defended yourself your hostility level won't be raised". I thought "cool, guess I can continue my peaceful fishing now"... but then, about half a minute later (I was literally just standing there with my fishing rod) the game suddenly said "hostility level raised". What did I do? Did the game decide to punish me for shooting the guy after all? I mean I really just defended myself and I thought R* said in one of the last updates that this issue has been fixed and that players in Defensive Mode who only defend themselves don't get a hostility level change? It all changed back to "low hostility level" after about two minutes or so, so it's not a big deal but it still bothered me because I hadn't DONE anything, AND the game had told me it wouldn't raise my hostility level and yet then did just that half a minute later. Is this a glitch? A known issue?2 points

Yup, that has happened to me too. I have 2 outfits setup for hot weather, tried to equip the other one with the same results. I had to switch servers to fix the issue. Next time I’ll setup a new outfit with just my drawers, & see if that solves anything. 🙈2 points

Can't believe I glazed over this bit in the original article: I know several of our community members have expressed an interest in an option like this. I'm sure they will be happy to see this.2 points

Honestly, most of those apps are about as credible as that Nigerian prince that keeps emailing me.1 point

Can't wait to remove the ugly acne from my character's face. When I made him, I didn't know about the advanced facial construction features. I chose one of the default ones.1 point

Every time I go to the post office in Valentine I get a notification when getting back on my horse that honor was lowered. I also get witness for horse theft. It's my horse. Why?1 point

Same here, I'm also glad Defensive will stick. I also hope they'll find a way to put you in Defensive when you load into the game in the first place (not sure if that's what they mean in the article, I think they only mean when you go from a PVP series back into Free Roam?). Nothing gives me more RDR anxiety than being placed in the middle of a fight and then having to frantically whistle for my horse and run away and have to wait for Defensive Mode to kick in, all at the same time. And I'm also looking forward to being able to slightly change my character's appearance. I'd love some shrill hair colors but then, this isn't GTA... ah well. I'd also settle for a few nice goatee options, the available ones really don't do anything for me.1 point

Thanks for posting this. It was in the latest update thread but it's certainly worthy of it own. I know there have been a lot of fellow community members who have been looking forward to some news on this. Now we just have to wait and see how much it will cost if anything. I also like the fact that the defensive/offensive option will stick. I hate having to keep turning defensive on.1 point

I heard that it seemed to have been modified to only be effective when someone shoots at your head and hits your hat. ....meaning your hat will provide protection but not if you get shot in the face, etc.1 point

I think it's obvious nothing good will come of this thread at this point so I'm closing it.1 point

This week in Red Dead Online another batch of timed exclusive PlayStation 4 content is unlocked on Xbox One and all players will be getting a wide selection of new clothing items. There are also new XP bonuses in action and Rockstar has also implemented some fan suggestions in the latest update. Players on the Xbox One and who haven't been able to hop into Last Stand or Make It Count: Ancient Tomahawk can finally try out these Showdown modes. Released 30 days go on PlayStation 4, they are now available to all players regardless of platform. Alongside the two game modes, a whole swath of items have also been unlocked. Previously restricted to PS4, the Perlino Andalusian Horse, the Belanger Saddle, the Finley Jacket, the Stenger Studded Spurs and the Caldwell Hat are now all available on Xbox One, as well as the Boast and Hey You emotes. Obviously, the Ancient Tomahawk weapon has also been unlocked alongside its own mode. Two permanent and four limited edition clothing items have been made available in Red Dead Online today. The modest but universal Common Flat Cap and the stylish Horsfall Overshirt are both here to stay. You only have a limited time to grab the Griffith Chaps, the Charro Jacket, the Clymene Coat and the Vaquero Baroque Spurs. If you're looking to boost your character's skills with better abilities, all Ability cards in Red Dead Online accumulate XP at a rate increased by 20%. Additionally, all Special Saddles are on a 25% discount - if you're high enough rank to use them at all that is! Rank 41 horses can be accessed at Rank 40 this week, and all Rank 30 hats are accessible at Rank 10. A new major update for Red Dead Online is in the works and Rockstar has been listening to player feedback all the way through the beta (and since it ended). Players will soon be able to change their character's appearance without having to delete them and lose their progress, and Playing Style Preferences will carry over with transfers. Check back for more news on this upcoming update. The post Red Dead Online Gets New Clothes, Content Unlocked On Xbox appeared first on RDR2.org. Read the full story1 point

Yeah, it's the LCD monitor that would kill it for me personally on the Asteroids and Lunar Lander type games. The bright glow from the old vector monitors was really cool. .....basically like an oscilloscope. At least they had the machine on when you saw it. Should give you a good idea if you'll like it. You can also at least play with the controllers and buttons to see how they feel even if you can't play any games on it. They say they build those components themselves. .....probably just means they source them from a factory in China but I have no idea. Still a cool thing to have for a game room when folks are over, etc.1 point

So I had grand visions of setting up a cinematic journey through New Austin while wearing Spanish themed clothing, riding the majestic donkey. It was beautiful, but I wished I had at least two other posse members on donkeys too LOL. I passed a pair of NPC riders and one actually bust out laughing, which made it even better. I also ran into a posse of players who I'm sure laughed as well since they stopped and turned around and waved lol1 point

Your grasping at straws now dude, I never implied that the writer of the original post is stupid although I see no issue in voicing my opinion that a number of the suggestions featured in the original post are moronic/stupid. If someone were to call me out for something I did which they believed to be stupid that doesn't necessarily mean they believe I'm stupid, they're just expressing they're opinion that what I did was stupid. I also never made any judgemental remarks about the writer of the original post, I merely voiced my honest opinion of the original post based on it's content, the language used and what I believed the writer's intentions were. A common complaint among the RDO community is that Rockstar make poor design choices and ignore player feedback, the point I was making in my first and second posts on this thread was that you can't blame Rockstar for failing to implement features or fixes based on player feedback when they are inundated with suggestions such as the ones featured in the original post. No one on this forum has ever been given a warning or banned for voicing they're honest opinion of a post.1 point

Hope this double post is okay to restart discussion here. I won't make a habit of it, don't worry. I just watched the infamous Red Wedding scene that supposedly appalled so many people for its alleged violence. I'm sorry, but that was tame as hell. Network TV stuff.1 point
