Shoot at the NPC but not hit him. He will turn red. Then lasso and drag him.2 points

One time I went from full honorable to light red in one go by lassoing an NPC and dragging it behind my horse. Maybe try that? (I was trying to do the "drag an enemy NPC 750m behind your horse" daily challenge. It didn't work, game didn't consider it an enemy I guess, heheh.)2 points

I know. I go around killing a bunch of NPCs and not only does my honor level barely change (if at all), but I get a bounty less than $10. I also have an uncontrollable urge to backhand other NPC riders just for fun / practice. To be honest, that's why I always took complaints about the bounty system being too harsh in online with a grain of salt. You really have to go around killing real players to get that thing up there. ......and in those cases, they deserve the red dot / bounty IMO.2 points

Yeah, I've wanted to kill Shakey mid-sentence on more than one occasion while being briefed. ......spit it out already!! 😁 On a serious note, I don't have a problem with dishonorable missions but I don't care for player / posse assassinations. I won't accept them. Being hunted is fine although that hasn't happened to me in a very long time and I have always escaped and/or successfully fended off my attackers. ....but I don't like going after other players and it's really not worth the hassle most times. I did accept one once by accident and saw the posse was in a town nearby. I decide to go for it. They had no idea the event started (probably didn't know what the prompt meant) as they were simply standing in the street messing with NPCs. I galloped in, obliterated the two players and rode out without missing a step. I felt bad afterward but I'd be lying if I also didn't find it pretty funny.1 point

Yeah I remember I made my first $1000... went really quickly. didn't know that about Cougars, I know where two spawn near where I have my camp, I'll keep that in mind - nice tip. I guess once I upgrade to the Copper Still and Strong Moonshine it will a little less painful. Cheers for the advice. ~Happy Gaming.1 point

I'm actually having a hard time going dishonorable, no thanks to the horse! I know I can change through old man Jones, (with coupons). Just trying to see how hard it is to stay dishonorable, it's quite difficult. Hoping dishonorable will show more trader wagons to jack. It's an experiment, because I never see them, but one dishonorable posse member seems to always see them. I'll update my findings to my fellow wagon hunters.1 point

Moonshiner: Not a big money maker. Just kind of something that works in the background for some occasional cash, and some drunk fun with posse mates. All you really have to do is pick a few herbs, order some canned peaches. I usually just order mash, bringing my profit to $176, but not too bad for 48 minutes. Occasionally I run bootleg missions while waiting for Cripps to produce goods. I can run 3 shine deliveries while Cripps makes a large wagon bringing it to $528 in 3 hours. Trader: 3.3 hours to produce a large wagon for $625. It will take a lot longer than 3 hours hunting/butcher to make that kind of cash, and YOU are working that whole time instead of Cripps. Filling trader materials: once you exploit cougar spawns you only need about 40 minutes of shooting cougars to fill your materials bar twice. So In 3 hours I spend 40 minutes hunting, and almost 2.25 hours free to do shine, collect, bootleg, or bounty hunt (for gold). Once you get a system, it'll all work out. I played since beta days. I was amazed when I had $2000. After roles came out, I own everything (except all clothes) in the game, maxed cards, full stables, and am sitting on 30k of cash.1 point

Your Horse is your Savior. After doing a mission that you lose honor, just pat your horse for a bit and take it for a walk, you'll soon be back up to full 'goody two shoes' level.1 point

Good advice, all. I think I'll avoid all of the Stranger missions from now on, and focus on Bounty Hunter, with a little Trader thrown in for variety.1 point

We are talking about a game that used the tag line "outlaws for life". There are a lot of things we are asked to do in the campaign and in RDO that are ethically questionable or are considered just downright wrong in civilized society. .....that's what the game is about. Even in the beginning missions / cutscenes that get you sorted in RDO you're an outlaw. ...but yeah, as others said you have your choice of missions, etc. if you want to go that route. Personally, I think folks are missing out on a good chunk of the game if they limit themselves entirely to only honorable tasks but then again, that's the players choice after the introductio into RDO.1 point

I noticed this and only after the fact. It would be easier if they allowed us to do more of like a Sims creator approach. Give us like 10 defaults and allow us to shape the face ourselves.1 point

In my experience, soon as anything goes mainstream, the quality behind the story and the emotion tends to drop. This is why music, movie, TVs, and even video games have a lot of duds and very few "classics". The entertainment industry as a whole is always changing so it is to be expected that people either change with it or get stuck sometimes. I for one have only seen maybe 5 movies in the last 10 years because nothing has really stood out to me. As for games, I don't have as much time these days so I really need to be interested to invest in one.1 point

Pretty much. I mean I get that sports games can't change year to year that much so why not just release one every 3 years and focus on updates and DLC instead of making an entire new game with minor changes? It makes more sense.1 point

This is the first forum post I've made. However, the constant crashing of RDR2 Online transforms what would be an amazing game and online experience into a frustrating nightmare. For example, I hopped on today to try to get a daily done to continue my streak and only had about an hour to do so. This seems like no big deal and I should be able to get multiple dailies completed. However, I crashed more than a dozen times, with multiple reboots due to the "unexpected error" or infamous "Alert" message. The only thing I've found unexpected about this game since it's release on PC, is when I get an hour or two of playtime where the game doesn't crash. I'm baffled as to how Rockstar can't fix this issue. Quite frankly, I'm embarrassed for them. I love this game when it works and it is amazing in almost every facet, except for the crashing. I'm not even complaining about the multiple thousands of dollars and tens of gold I've lost in game due to crashes while doing trading deliveries, moonshine deliveries, bounties, free-roam events, etc. It's just the frustration of trying to enjoy a wonderfully flawed game that decides to crash every time I play the game and it isn't getting better. Just coordinating with friends online sometimes takes the better part of an hour because someone is bound to crash, and then someone else, and then, well you know. I've even joked with friends about how, damn I've only crashed four times today. I'm now at the point where I may move onto other endeavors because the crashing is so excessive it robs me of all enjoyment of this game. I'm sure there are dozens if not hundreds of other posts and comments regarding the crashing, but today's non-stop crashing compelled me to do what I've been thinking about doing for quite some time now.1 point

I was thinking the same thing. I mean you are meant to feel like you are either above the law or the "new law" and people in this position back then would not just be sitting out in the open. They would be hidden up in the mountains or deep int he woods.1 point

I guess you are right. And I hope Rockstar takes care of the real cheaters. And the bugs.1 point

Depending on the genre of game, yeah they tell amazing stories like movies used to (LOL). I just think anyone who is as mad as the guy in the video just didn't adjust well with the changes the gaming industry has gone through.1 point

There's no trinket for the Legendary Bear, but there is a Talisman. https://www.rdr2.org/guides/trinkets-talismans-perks-guide/1 point

Do what you would do in real life with a horse. Keep it well fed. Put a comfy saddle on it. Interact with it and establish a relationship.1 point

I am pretty sure he beat the game on console, if I am not mistaken. I would have thought that most if not all people loved this gal. I mean if I was Arthur, I would have made a move and put a ring on it. 🤣1 point
