  1. Guess you didn't read the OP. 12 real time hours farming for a hide isn't really that long. But I'm getting nothing but good wolves in that area, not even poor unless I screw up the shot. Never hurts to ask if there's a better place to hunt. Thanks @GarthAlgar and @elmZ. I'll head that way tonight when I play. Will say some of the best scenery is up in that northern area, and I love the weather effects, got caught in a white out, and some really dense fog. Almost peed myself when a grizzly roared and rushed out of the fog lol
  2. Spent the last 12 hours real time trying to get the damn perfect wolf hide to finish my legend satchel. I swear I've turned in over a hundred good hides hoping the trinket might just bump one up to perfect. Been hunting wolves up around Colter, is there a better place? Guides online say tall trees but I haven't got that far in the game yet.
  3. Can't say I have.
  4. Why pay for free stuff?
  5. Sounds like time to call ms and/or Rockstar
  6. Nope, i cuss at Micah every time i see him Bill also. I really hope in the online version we can kick the crap out of those 2 just for fun.
  7. I'm the opposite, i have more fun playing single player than online. I get too frustrated my old reflexes can't match the kids playing online 24/7 lol makes it less fun for me. Of course i'll have to check it all out when it goes online, gta5 was fun for a while.
  8. That's because horses die a permanent death. You don't get them back except the DLC horse. So save often!
  9. dynamite arrows! have to try that when i get back home Saturday.
  10. the holding LB/RB down is for the PS4, do that after the first splash screen, when it goes black. That doesn't work on the Xbox, just have to exit the game and hard boot the console.
  11. is there a timer on that one? that would suck cause i've probably missed it too then.
  12. That's what i did with my boy. Airsoft/BB gun when he was 6, .243 youth at 10 to go hunting with me. Then when he decided hunting wasn't for him i swapped out the stock on the .243 and it's mine Can't have too many rifles... His first hunting trip was a draw hunt for Pronghorn. They're worse than rabbits around my brothers ranch. So we went there to hunt some in his fields. First time we saw a herd we snuck up on them and used the brush around a power pole as cover. Till my son sat down on a thistle and yelped and scared them away. Jump back in the truck, drive across a couple fields to the next herd, he slams the truck door on accident and they go running off. found a 3rd herd in a field a few to the south. Had a great big Case tractor in the corner we hid near for cover. Had a perfect line on a doe broadside but then he got buck fever. Sit and aim and fidget, aim and fidget, then the doe turned and trotted off and he called it. "Dad my butt hurts and i'm done, lets go home" lol Gotta love those first hunting trips
  13. Search function is an awesome tool... Could be too busy in the area for the Legendary to spawn. Like if you're wanted and they're after you, or are in the middle of a conflict, spooked it out of the area, etc.
  14. From what i'm seeing online this happens a lot. Looking like it's just for that mission and when you remove it it's gone, doesn't look to be a bug/glitch.
  15. I don't remember seeing an option to pluck the smaller birds, i must have missed it. I'll have to check that out when i get back from the holidays.
  16. Fun is different for everyone like @Poggy said. it can be fun just doing the story line. That's how i played RDR, i did the story line and had a blast just doing that. I loved the story, it was entertaining and captured me so i just played it through. Then i went back and played the side missions and whatnot that i missed along the way. Then went back and played again to get what i missed on the last play through. And then i did the whole game again, side content, etc along the way with the story line to refresh before RDR2 was released. I've played other games that had story lines and side missions and open world stuff like this, and they weren't near as fun, the side content got boring so i just played the story line and had fun. I can't go back and replay those, the story line wasn't captivating enough to suffer through it again. RDR2 i'll be playing numerous times through. First to do the other side of the hat, i'm playing red this first time, i'll play white next time. Then i'll have to play through and get gold in all the missions. Not to mention the hunting in this game is phenomenal. I've been loving it, it's mostly what I've done since the game was released.
  17. That's exactly it. I went out with friends for pizza and beers last night. Brought the conversation here up with my teacher friend as i was curious what he did with the papers. He gave those kids an F on their English essay. One parent threw an epic fit about her child getting an F. Something about that's how English is now, look it up online they're real words. 'Cause anything on the internet is true right? Just ask the state farm insurance girl and her french boyfriend. He said the mom was looking at urbandictionary.com because it's a real valid dictionary so everything in it is real English and should be allowed in their papers she thinks. Parental failure, idiots breed and teach their kids to be idiots. And that family is very dysfunctional, she was a problem teen, knocked up at 15 had this kid at 16. Her parents took custody as she got into drugs and had a new boyfriend every other week, not to mention the guys she slept with for her drugs. She finally cleaned up her act, at least enough to get custody back, and now she's the vengeful, my kid is a saint, type parent. Really feel sorry for the kid, but what can you do.
  18. is that the one I swear i've caught it before and when i went back last night as it wasn't crossed off i spent an hour fishing and couldn't catch it. Did get a 20 lb muskie though, but i released it i'll have to check the progress and see if that one is checked.
  19. Many reasons to race to the end. I've done it before just to see the ending, then replay and focus on everything else. This game i'm focusing on everything else first, then i'll finish the story line as i'm forced to, like My son is leaving for Job Corps next week, he rushed through just doing story line so he could see the ending before he had to leave, now he's playing through again doing the side missions and challenges until he leaves. I don't get the people that have to brag about it, what are they 10?
  20. THat's what i was going ot suggest. Always a good idea to exit the game when done playing for the day. If that doesn't work you can do Rockstar's famous solution of clearing your cache. On Xbox exit the game (if you don't know how to exit hit the home button, then move to RDR2 and hit start button, then choose quit/exit) then hold the power button in on the console till it shuts down, wait 30 seconds and restart. On PS4 after the initial splash page, when the screen goes black press and hold R1 and R2 until you see the screen resizing option and darkness setting.
  21. I knew it. Rockstar's answer to my ticket on the disappearing horse was to clear the cache. But then i got looking online for more info to send them as i've seen other's post on this. and here's what i found - Guess i should should read more on the game huh? And why the hell couldn't the Rockstar rep tell me horse death is permanent? If I offered my customers the round about support they do i'd lose my job.
  22. agreed. I just had to replace my HDMI cable for this when i got my new xbox one s (i'm too cheap to buy the X still) a few weeks ago. My other Xbox One S my son is now using worked fine on that cable, but it gave me these weird color flashes on the new one. So either bad cable or in the OP's case possibly a loose connection.
  23. Actually weapon doesn't matter on Legendary, you won't ruin their hide like you would shooting a regular animal with the wrong gun trying get the perfect hide. Use your biggest gun, shoot it in the head till it drops. or the ass. doesn't matter.
  24. I can agree with that. It's why i switched from PS to the xbox 360 way back when.
  25. From what i'm reading online (gameshedge.com hunting guide) there's 4 quality grades for meat. Best Big game (gators, wolves, bears, moose, etc.) High Quality Exotic Bird (Parakeets, Parrots, Pelicans, etc.) Tender Pork (various pigs) Mature Venison (Deer and pronghorn) Prime Beef (Cattle, Buffalo, Oxen) Game Meat (Rabbits, Ducks, Pheasants, etc.) Succulent Fish (trout, salmon, other such game fish) Good Quality Crustacean (Shellfish) Flakey Fish (Perch, Bass, etc.) Plump Bird (Turkey, Geese, Chicken, etc.) Grisly Mutton (sheep, goats) Low Quality Gritty Fish (Bluegill and other trash fish) Herptile Meat (Frogs, Iguana, etc.) Gamey Bird (small birds) Stringy Meat (rodents and other small varmints) I read somewhere else while looking for this list, that perfect animals will give high quality, ie that prefect buck might give you big game, or a large bluegill (caught with the lure or special lure) might give flakey fish. I haven't paid enough attention to verify this. I'll have to check that out tonight while i'm out hunting.
