  1. I've noticed this occur a few times on my PS4Pro. I think it's only been in towns. I think it's also occurred when I'm in a room, with many decorative objects to look at. When it occurs, it's for a very short time. It made me think the game was loading assets. Thankfully it's not game breaking. And seems to occur inconsistently. I only got to play a little bit last night, since updating to patch 1.03. So my above comments are relating to prior the patch. I'll try that tip to rebuild my database. Thanks for that tip! I have faith R* will improve this with future patches.
  2. I have online access this morning! I checked at 9:30 am PST. I was able to start an online session, with it giving me a cutscene. But I had to quit out, and go to work. When I got home last night at around 11pm PST, there was a new patch. It was new to me, from playing the previous night. It quickly installed. There was now an ONLINE tab to select. But, there wasn't anything else to select after it. So no ONLINE mode play for me. I put my PS4 in rest mode to charge a controller and went to bed. When I checked this morning at around 9:30 amPST, waking up my PS4 out of sleep mode, I had the same result. I closed RDR2 from the home screen. Then started RDR2. Voila! I could now start ONLINE mode. @nilsolsson11 if you have a PS4, try what I did. I don't think having a R* socilaclub account is going to matter. There is a RDR2 ONLINE faq graphic/info thingy someone posted on another forum. It makes no mention of a socialclub account requirement. It only mentions RDR2 versions, and when you started playing it. Can't wait until I get off work to saddle up!
  3. Not me. I had a theory that I'd be able to at 9pm PST tonight, on the 27th. But when I got home just now and checked in at 10:45pm PST, I can't access it. It shows up as a choice between STORY and ONLINE. Choosing ONLINE just brings me to this screen. My next guess would be at 5:30am PST tomorrow on the 28th.
  4. I'm in the same boat. I'm going to guess it will go live for us at 12am EST. Which is when it will be Nov 28th, Eastern Standard Time. Which is about 5hrs and 35 minutes from writing this post. Since it's still Nov 27th, where I live. I'm making this guess off of how the game went live for me and my standard order, at 12am EST on Oct 26th. Which was 9pm PST, my timezone in the United States.
  5. 8. Always look for cover Getting shot in RDR2 often causes you to lose a significant amount of health, so never start shooting in the open. Always approach a gunfight after looking for potential cover spots, be it a huge rock, a cabin, or a horse cart. Pressing R1/RB near cover will move you behind it, making it almost impossible for an enemy to get a clean shot in. Holding L2/LT whilst behind cover will make you appear from behind it but letting go will drop you right back into cover. Be smart and don’t spend a lot of time away from cover because you’ll die and will have to replay the whole section again. https://www.redbull.com/ie-en/red-dead-redemption-2-combat-tips-guide In later gun fights, things get pretty chaotic. Using cover helped me survive those encounters.
  6. Hmmm ... maybe you'll have to earn or pay $ for cosmetics to enhance your character's look?
  7. Did the game give you an Arabian horse for both single player and online mode? 1 for each mode? So you just don't want to lose the online one, right? Your single player game Arabain is safe from something bad happening to it during online mode?
  8. Someone mentioned in a previous post that if you bought the physical copy, then you'll need to redeem a code that comes with it. I'd also expect there to be issues with playing it since it's a beta.
  9. Here is a Twitch stream Online mode of it by Polygon. Looks like it's 2 people playing co-op. One of them seems like they are playing it for the first time. Spoilers at your own risk.
  10. I haven't looked forward to waking up at 5:30 am PST in a very long time! On second thought, I'm going to check at the same time the game went live for me, at 9:00pm PST (12am EST).
  11. I wondered about this too, before starting it. And the answer is ...
  12. I noticed something similar last night. I was attempting to do one of the Challenges. I figured to make things easier, I'd camp a road near the NPC for this. On the plus side, it was always a very short wait until someone on a horse came traveling along the road. On the negative side, it was also a short time before some new person came down the road to witness what I had just done. But there was always a short window of time for me to do something about it. If I killed my target, then the witness would see their body on the road. I could sometimes take their body and hide it off the road. Then there would be no problem with any witness. But then I'd have to try to find their horse that ran off. I also tried lassoing them and hog tieing them. I forget if that would cause a witness to "WITNESS" or report anything. But after a short period of time, they'd untie themselves and chase after me. In general, I noticed that using a mask helped with not causing things to turn into a bounty against me. Though, there would usually be a short period of their being a red area on the map that I had to run out of as that investigation/searching phases would occur. The game seems to spawn potential witnesses close to where this all goes down. So even if survey the area in a 360 degree sweep, there may be someone that will spawn behind and near me. I assume it's a game design issue. Doing stuff like this seems easiest to pull off without any witnesses when I do it away from towns, and roads. Doing it in towns seems to always guarantee multiple witnesses. Doing it on the roads seems to result in at least 1 witness. Doing it in the wilderness seems to result in 0 witnesses. At least that's been my casual observation with my game.
  13. I just learned last night that it's possible to get a 3 star pelt, by using a scooped rifle. I dead eye'd and shot the red area of the animal. Previously I was using my box, but it was too hard to bring down a gator this way.
  14. I would double check to see what Main missions, the yellow/gold ones, are still on my list. You can also see them on your map. But you might have to zoom out, and scroll around the map, to see them all.
  15. Opps! Thanks for the heads up. Another play though doesn't sound too bad. Though I wish there was a way to speed through the tutorial. Now that I think of it, I think I do have a save at the very beginning of Chapter 2. This was showing a friend how the beginning of the game goes.
  16. The previous TV I was using had a weird issue. Where it would lose the signal on some Cable channels. You'd change the channel and see it fine for a brief period. And then it would go blank like it lost the signal. Change it to a different channel it was fine. The cable guy came over to check it out and he said it was an issue with my TV's HDMI port. Looking at the back of my TV, the HDMI port stuck outward towards the wall. So gravity was constantly tugging the HDMI cable downward, at a 90 degree angle. With the cable dangling where the TV sat on a TV center and looping down to the cable box underneath it. Also, moving things around could also cause strain on it. Over time this appears to have damaged the port. Soon after that, I got a new TV. This was in 2015. I checked the back. It's HDMI ports face downward. This looks to be easier on the TV's HDMI port.
  17. Too many games, not enough time. I will sometimes rush through a game, just to complete. So I can go on to the next game. Though lately, I'll just indefinitely stop playing it while I play something else. I'm really enjoying this game. I find myself easily getting distracted by other side quests and various challenges. I seem to be making good progress through the story missions. I'm on Chapter 4. I assume I can still do all the many side quests/quests regardless of whichever chapter I'm on. Though it may mean more traveling to spots on the map, based on the games main progress.
  18. Now I want to try using dynamite. KA-BOOM!
  19. Bummer. If that doesn't fix it, then you could try contacting RS customer support. https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001624507 I have done that once with asking about an ETA of them fixing HDR for PS4. I was pleasantly surprised to get a response a couple days later. Which basically said they were aware of the issue and we're hoping to fix it in a future patch.
  20. I think the first time I heard that term was during Ultima Online. When the game was new. We were all learning to play in that big sandbox open world game. ImaNewbie made a series of online comics about his adventures in Britannia. I was such a newbie back then. Still am. http://www.imanewbie.com/
  21. @gamerfan1010 to holster and unholster a weapon you use L1. Had to look that up on YT being away from my PS4. I assume this will be whichever was the last weapon you selected prior. It took me about 2 hours to do that Bandit Challenge. I had to reload my save games multiple times. For I kept messing up and accidentally shooting the shop merchant. I had never robbed someone prior to that. I think it just took me some time practicing the mechanics of getting my gun out to rob without shooting it. Which, up until that point, whenever I pulled out my gun always resulted in me shooting people.
  22. I had something similar happen when I was trying to do one of the Bandit Challenges, of holding up 4 shopkeepers. I would keep, accidentally shooting them! You can pull out your gun using the radial menu. I think it's also possible to bring out your gun by partially pressing on the R2 trigger. But as you noticed, don't press too far or it will do hip fire. For the Bandit Challenge, I would use the Radial menu to draw a gun. L2 to precisely aim it at the person. Then you have a few choices as to what you want to do with your target. I picked "ROB". Note :I'm at work. And trying to recall this info, without using the controller in my hand.
  23. I think I was using some starting guns for that. I don't think anything was upgraded. I think I was using the standard ammo. Hosea may have given me some rifle, which I may have used, but I can't recall. For the actual fight ... My cats in my living room freaked out and I had to pause and turn the volume down to calm them down. I was a little surprised that the actual fight wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. Maybe that's coming from playing other games (Diablo 3) and thining Legendary was going to mean it has more hit points, higher resists, and hits harder. The animal did require more steps, with tracking, to eventually find it. And it does potentially get more complex with using scent concealers and bait, to help find it.
  24. I've intentionally been censoring with many RDR2 things on the Internet. For I do really enjoy all the various surprises a game has in store. Especailly when the game is good. Like this one is. I do sometimes have to search for help with this game when I get stuck, or don't understand how something works. That's how I found this nice place. I will sometimes to to see something spoilery, and have to close the window before I read too much. Google Fu can help, filter out what I see if I'm able to phrase my help question correctly. "How do I duel in Red Dead Redmeption 2" was one of the first things I searched for on google, needing help with that. But yeah, spoilers can still show up in places you don't expect it. I was playing MGS5:TPP's multiplayer. There is a screen that you look at that shows other players bases you can try fighting with. And wouldn't you know it. Someone's player name had a spoiler for Fallout 4. The game had just came out. That players handle was ... spoiler alert
  25. I've noticed that too. I think we are stuck with that. It's a "feature". It does seem to make things fairer with hit those mission achievements if everyone is using the same equipment. I think everyone's character stats; Health/Stamina/Deadeye are also the same values for a given replayed mission. But I'll have to check.
