  1. I specifically purchased a PS4 to play this game. I waited 7 freaking years for its release. RDR was the benchmark that I measured all other games against. Fanboy deluxe. I slow played it thru Chapter 6 and enjoyed almost every minute of it. The first epilogue was just cleaning things up. The second epilogue was just a recap of RDR1 and it really doesn't matter to me if finish it or not. I am not a completionist or a trophy whore. Unless they come up with an exceptional online version, I am done. I'm not going to pay to be a beta-rat. I guess that puts me in the "did not finish the game" slot.
  2. Zillow rates Strawberry in the top 2 of up and coming cities of West Elizabeth. The stagecoach offers luxury transportation at affordable prices. The crime rate is equal to the national average. Welcome to the forum.
  3. For Red Dead 1 it was "Undead Nightmare", a zombie kill fest. If anyone enjoyed that, please raise your hand. With this game, I see alien spacecraft looming on the horizon. Please R*, no butt probing of your loyal fans.
  4. It is used in RDOnline. RD1 was entirely based in New Austin and Perdido. (Mexico)
  5. Aye. The lads played to much RPG and not enough FPS.
  6. I can imagine what it will be like if we have to move in with our kids. Kid: "Mom! Grampa is being an a$$hole again. He wont let me play on the Xbox!" Us: "Shut up you little griefer! Grandmas' diamond broach is going to your cousin!"
  7. Video games are just a phase that you will eventually grow out of. (Pac-man was released in 1980.) The younger folks should just be happy that it keeps us off the streets and out of trouble.
  8. Please forgive me for a question as the only greek I know is pita bread but..... Why are the 2nd and the 5th symbols on the tree the same but they dont repeat themselves in the greek translation? Bulgar Runic also has several perfect matches but doesnt match them all.
  9. The location that you cast from seems really important with the bluegill. Try going where the fish is shown on the map and moving along the coastline a bit at a time. There may even be boat in the area that you can try. I recall having the same problem and I think the location marker is a tad off.
  10. I am currently playing the original on a PS3. Just adjusting the game to the newer standards would do a world of wonders. Cleaning up the graphics would be a great place to start. The PS3 is constantly redrawing and it's annoying as heck. You cant look 30 yards ahead of your horse without worrying about running off of the trail. Even the sky looks banded. i keep running into things simply because I cant see them because the texturing is so bad. Its like the system cant keep up with the action. After playing the new version, I feel like I am playing at half speed. It looks like Minecraft for seniors. Horses need a huge turning radius at a gallop. They get stuck in thin bushes. The controller is just to sloppy. Marston walks like he has stage 10 Lumbago. At night or during a rainstorm, you may as well just sleep because visibility is zero. The story is still there. It has all of the bones of a great game. Some tweaks for the sake of continuity with RD2 wouldnt hurt. Bonnie McFarland can compete with Sadie any day of the week. Just bring it up to todays standards and expand it a bit. Give the old game players some twists and give the guys that didnt play the original the backstory. Then make RDR3.
  11. Dutch raised both Arthur and John from orphans. They grew up together like brothers and Arthur watched over John like a big brother would. I would think that Jack was attracted to Arthur like any kid would like their favorite uncle. The cool uncle that let them do stuff that their dad wouldn't allow them to do. The uncle that got them the best presents. The uncle that took them fishing. What kid doesn't push back on their old man. He's the guy that has to do all of the dirty work of raising a kid. John had no role model of his own and tried to do what he thought was the right way to raise a son. Johns idea of a good life was to have a farm and to teach the kid the value of hard work.....not sit around and daydream about knights and princes. John didn't discourage him from reading, he just wanted him to do his homework and chores first. As far as Arthur banging on Abigail......that's a pretty chump thing to do to your brother. Arthur may have done a lot of foul things in his life but he was always loyal to his family.
  12. Combining the 2 maps would also open up the mexico map for the RD2 players. I know for a fact that the Mexico map is already there in RD2, it just lacks the bridges, roads and buildings.
  13. I probably drowned most of them trying to cross the Upper Montana River trying to get to the other side.
  14. I fired up my old PS3 yesterday and jumped into RD1. The graphics suck in comparison. The gameplay seems really out dated and the controls are like somebody replaced my QWERTY with an ABCDEF keyboard and put the spacebar on the top. Jack Marston sounds like a 12 year old. The NPC's are idiots and the women are skanks.
  15. I hooked up my old PS3 today thinking that I might pick up where RDD2 dropped me off. The first thing that caught my eye, was my last game save was on 1/21/2011, exactly 8 years to the day. I started there and found Jack with nothing to do. The controls were different and it took a while to get up to speed. Even then, they were clunky as hell. The graphics that I so fondly remembered were 720p and really didnt look half as great as I recalled. NPCs seemed distant and unwilling to converse. The horse movement was choppy and uneven. I visited some old haunts, shot a couple people and split. Checked my old stats and noted I killed 64 domestic horses and 4 rabbits. I must of been quite a di*k back in the day. Something I really didnt expect to see was....RDR1 Online is still up and running. I even found a poker game. The guy seemed so exited to see someone that he asked me to join his posse. He spoke Polish(?) so I thought it wouldn't work out real well. It seems like they have a bunch of game options that people have been requesting for the current beta. It doesnt require a PSN account to play. All of my old links to red dead forums are dead and gone but I did find one. I followed it backwards and it made me laugh. An old red dead forum
  16. The last pic looks like someone used a can of Krylon Gray Auto Primer to cover up some rust spots. Pretty typical of the Murfree aesthetic.
  17. A building kit for single player? Log, Craftsman, Victorian, commercial style prefabs. Fences, plant material, road building, bridges etc. Fallout for pioneers. Marston gets a house, I want a house. Watering his garden doesnt benefit me. Integrate farm products into the economy. Raise my own pigs to sell to the butcher. Get me some farmer pants and let me whistle the Green Acres song while I scoop up cow sh!t.

  19. What's invisible and and smells like carrots? Answer: Rabbit farts.
  20. All it takes is a calm voice.....and a pocket full of a special herb that I grow.😉
  21. You folks are obviously not cat people.
  22. Sounds like you are planning to start a family. Quick tip: Always wear a helmet when riding your hog.
  23. You cant beat that area for solitude and natural beauty. I like to head up there, every now and then, but those grizzlies always have me for lunch. If you enjoy solitude and hunting, try heading out past the northern border of the map. There are two routes that I know of to get there and they are pretty close to your place. There is absolutely nobody up there and the animals really dont fear anyone. I've gotten 3 start cougar pelts with very little effort. There are some dangers lurking but with some fore knowledge, the dangers are minimal. Seeing that you are just up the road from my place, drop by the farm or PM me and I can draw you a map. You are always welcome and we always have one of Bag o' Nuts little piggies turning over the campfire. Mrs. Garretts' (Susan Grimshaw?) Carolina sauce is to die for. The lady may smell like pig sweat and onions, but she sure can cook!
  24. I got myself a nice sheep called Bessie. I like to dress her up and have picnics down by the river. She doesn't like going near the water but she seems to like the exercise.
  25. K, That's a real nice area around there. I've caught lots of salmon from that lake. Yea.....It's tough to craft women if you dont have the right materials. I have seen lots of beaver around the lake. Have you tried there?
