it really does help... My wife is a player too, and today the second she finished a mission and spawned in Valentine, she was grieved with a shotgun to the face. He was a coward, stood in front knowing where she was going to spawn, and waited to shoot her. She went back and handed him his ass and he ended up changing sessions. Then someone tried to lasso her in her camp, and she took off and when he followed, she killed him a few times. Point is, it was my turn to talk to her and cool her down... But she didn't, she just went and griefed them back. It was a proud moment LMAO

The game is quite long despite the average estimation being at 45 hours. There is an epilogue as well. I flew through the first time, and I will be doing it again soon but taking my time so it will take longer. I think the 45 hour thing is if you just do the main missions and focus on finishing the game. The game can go quite long if you try and get 100% achievements and all that kind of stuff. But to answer your question in general, it is quite a long game. And a very enjoyable one too. Hope you enjoy it! In my honest opinion I would say that you were not halfway through yet. Also love your username LMAO

I actually noticed that, the items that he won't let me sell after clicking X, actually come up as sold and the money is added sometimes 5 or 10 seconds after I leave the butcher. Not sure if anybody else noticed or experienced this, but it seems when I click X too fast when I have a lot of single items he's trying to catch up. Even when I started going slower, sometimes he would not accept the pelts, and then I hear the ching ching a few seconds after leaving the butcher and my money increases.

Sorry you went through that, it's getting worse and worse. It really does ruin the fun for others when super high levels are griefing lower levels. I'm just about to hit Level 40 myself, and yesterday I was griefed by a level 90 or 95 constantly coming into my camp. I tried to chase him out and he shot me down with some kind of high-powered ammo. He wouldn't let me come back to my camp, he was shooting up the place. He just kept shooting me. As a matter of fact, while he was shooting me in my camp with the white flag up at the beginning, my health was deteriorating even though I was in my camp. When I did make it back, I waited till he let his guard down, lowered the white flag and drilled him with a repeating shotgun right in my camp. As for starting missions with pink lips around, very rarely will I do that anymore. And thank God for the block feature!

I was hunting for a wolf in a stranger mission once, and as I went to pick up the wolf, I was instantly shot, snipered actually. He stole the wolf and dropped it off in tumbleweed, right in the middle of town. Of course his posse was there waiting for me but it didn't fall for it, it was too obvious. At that point I wasn't going to go up against a five-man posse for a wolf.

I, like tons of other people have lost literally thousands of dollars in pelts because of disconnects. I should be basically rich in terms of this game right now! It sucks going to the butcher every 10 minutes because you're afraid of getting disconnected. That's my biggest annoyance right now... seems like they focused on these stupid side games rather than working on the issues we are all having with disconnects. I did have about a two and a half to three hour uninterrupted session yesterday. That was a real treat... And it's sad to say that LOL ( not actually laughing though)
-
Unfortunately for me, I've experienced the same disconnect the same amount of disconnects as usual... I've been on for 3 and 1/2 hours and I've been disconnected three times, approximately once per hour.
-
Same with me... Only free roam that's the only option. The other options for side games are available once you log on at least.

Thankfully my wife sits beside me while I play a lot, and she usually talks to me and cools me off. Lately it's been the usual low level cowards who shoot you, then leave the session before you can get revenge. The other night I was shot in Rhodes 3 times. Finally I started singing 'Shot in Rhodes Again' to the tune of Willie Nelson's 'On the Road Again.' Acutally, I wrote an entire song and recorded it. It's hilarious, and if I wasn't such a horrible singer, I would post it here! Anyhow, that's how I dealt with the events from that night. I wrote a song lmao In the end, my wife and I laughed hysterically at the lyrics and I forgot all about the griefer!

Wow, I can't believe that. I mean I can, but that's crazy!!! I've never played that game although I would love to and might pick it up sometime but that is exactly why I just mute everyone as soon as I get on now.

Agreed! I worked at GameStop over Christmas just as a seasonal employee, and people were coming in with eight and nine year olds buying Red Dead. Even though I explained the language was vulgar, and the online would be even worse with people on mics, they just shrugged their shoulders most of the time and bought the game anyways. I felt like asking them if they wanted a case of beer for the kids to go with it?

This is getting very annoying... Every time I spawn into a new session, I'm coming up as an enemy. As if dealing with the griefers isn't bad enough, now I have to deal with this? I'm not sure if it's because I'm a member of a posse, but we are honorable we do not grief other people so I kind of don't understand. On occasion I will.go solo if I'm only playing for a little while, and it still happens. All I know is I'm being chased and hunted down as soon as I spawn.

This is just me... I like to hunt Pronghorn and deer, as sometimes you get two or three pieces of meat per kill. You can carry a max of 20, and you can usually get that in 10 to 15 minutes if you go to the right places. It will sell for $12 for 20 pieces of meat.. And that is not including the pelts, and antlers if you're lucky enough to get a couple of white tail bucks. Including the pelts, I made $80 in an hour today. The biggest challenge is getting to the butcher without getting disconnected. Actually, if you get disconnected at least you still have the meat. Big game is worth $0.75 just for the meat not including the pelts. Harder to find though. Pronghorns and deer are a little more plentiful from what I've seen. Hope this helps.

I hear you! I always seem to get spawned on a cliff and/or near a pack of wolves. Yesterday I was shot dead by a level 5 before I even saw myself on the screen. He took off and I whistled for my horse as I ran after him and got trapped between a grizzly and a cliff. All I had was my varmint rifle as my horse hadn't come yet. When I finally got on, he bucked me off a cliff. Point is, I spawned on the cliff with my horse down below. And the bear was still there! Then as usual the level 5 coward/chicken sh*t had left the session so I couldn't nail him. As for the slow trot by the camps, that is annoying AS HELL! I've been taken down by cougars as I was going by someone's camp. It sucks!

Well, just as we both thought...I contacted Playstation support, and was informed that only one of us will be allowed to use the PS PLUS account for online. If the other person was to try and access the same PS PLUS account to play online while the other person is accessing it, it is actually a violation of the terms of use for PS PLUS, and likely you would be unable to access any online games for a time. So, if my wife and I want to play at the same time in the same session, 2 PS PLUS accounts will be needed. Bummer, but was worth a shot. Oh well, looks like we'll be in it for another account plus another copy of the game.

Really good suggestions! Personally, I'd be happy for starters if (hate to sound like a broken record) but, if it would stop moving, if we could have the option to spawn in our camp when we enter RDRO, and (this is just my personal preference), we could get him to stop playing that harmonica!

Adding a scope to a bolt action
Jackthestripper replied to Jackthestripper's topic in Red Dead Online
Yeah I think the difference is really slight, like by a hair... But for thirty bucks, at least I have a scope and it actually has come in handy and not a bad upgrade for that price. -
Hmmm, I'm level 23 atm so I will surely check that out. I think it would come in handy for missions too, where my horse likes to go crazy as soon as he hears a gunshot. Lately I've been jumping off my horse to do battles when there's more than 5 or 6 NPC's too shoot as I am more accurate on foot than being on a horse that's jumping all over the place. My horse gets scared when it sees a damn caterpillar! lol

Adding a scope to a bolt action
Jackthestripper replied to Jackthestripper's topic in Red Dead Online
Although your points may be valid, I did not want the scope to grief other players. As a matter of fact, I have played King of the Castle 2 or 3 times and that's about it. I really don't play the side games at all, and when I do, I don't camp. I just like the scope for more accuracy. I find it helps with hunting and clearing gang hideouts for still targets. -

I agree with that too, to each his own I say. Certain guns I like scopes and some guns I don't. -
Adding a scope to a bolt action

Well I weaseled my way into convincing my wife to buy the scope on her bolt-action... And the accuracy Improved when she had the scope and did not decrease when she took the scope off so I'm pretty sure that it's worth it. If anything, the target is bigger when you're zoomed in so I think it's worth it and I'm going to buy one. However I should mention, the short scope is $30 in the long scope is $60, but the long scope doesn't give you any additional accuracy so it would really just be cosmetic. I'm a cheapskate so I will go with the $30 one LOL -
I think it's a good idea, and I will be contacting them tomorrow to get a clear answer. My wife and I have our own separate PSN accounts, we can log on to the PlayStation network from either PS4 and play with our own character. The question is if I am already logged in on one console and playing online, when she logs in can she share the same PS Plus account? It would be a real bummer if I had to go get another PS Plus account LOL

I was going to get a short scope on my bolt action rifle as I see the accuracy improves. Just wondering if that little bit of improvement in the accuracy is only working when I am using the scope? I assume if you're not using the scope that Improvement is not active but wasn't sure. Won't waste my money if that's the case as I wouldn't use the scope with that rifle very often.
