Just finished the story, epilogue and credits...

And then there’s all the other stuff to do, so many challenges to grind, so many animals to kill just to make one satchel... -
Can’t open treasure maps in RDR2 online

Is this in story mode or online? -

Congratulations, hope you enjoyed the narrative. Are you going for the full 100% game completion on your next run? -
Share beautiful pictures from RDR2 (not of characters)

The third pic in the original post is in St Denis. -
I seem to remember in your log, it should show a fish that you've not caught yet as an objective.
-
Ah, sorry about that. I've moved this thread to the relevant forum section. Some aspects of gameplay are different between single-player and online.
-
You've probably unlocked a few Trapper Challenges by now. Completing these challenges has the effect of increasing the different kinds of stats. The activity-based increases only go so far, to completely fill those rings, you'll need to complete the challenges, some of which take considerable time and patience.

You can clear the gang hideouts, which will reduce the number of ambushes, but you'll never completely wipe them out. Shady Belle will keep getting a gang respawned, so you can go back there every time you want a nice shootout.

I never really paid attention. I assumed it's random. I never really interacted with trains unless I needed to and then I just went to a station and bought a ticket, which then spawned a train.

I'm at 51%, what does that mean? 50% of what?...
Foxtrot replied to Trespasser's question in Questions & Answers
Well, there's a difference between the story progression and everything else in the game that doesn't really relate to the story missions. The 100% completion covers the story missions and everything else. -

It's 50% of full game completion. There's a lot of other activities and challenges that lie outside of the story missions. You should see a 100% completion checklist somewhere in the pause menus. -
You're a bit vague about "these problems", but since there's a gazillion permutations of PC hardware out there, it's kind of hard to test. But yes, there's a boatload testing that goes on.

Shop owners tend to get a little angry if you enter their store wearing a bandana, and sometimes this is easy to miss when you can't see the bandana from behind. People do tend to give fair warning before attacking you (unless it's an ambush or scripted story event), so listen to the warnings.

A pretty old video game.

Welcome! Hope you enjoy RDR2 as much as the rest of us did!

Hi peeps!! Just played an hour so far with issues.

Welcome. Join in, ask questions. We all did a whole lot of learning when we all started playing this thing! -
Not really. You get kind of used to gathering three star pelts and then taking them straight to the trapper or Pearson as soon as you get them. You tend to lose pelts if you happen to get killed for whatever reason. And after getting killed and wasting the time you put into finding a three star animal and killing it cleanly, you sure learn to look after that pelt.

Yes, you should go ahead with the missions - you'll find that the first few chapters will unlock aspects of gameplay that will help a great deal in the free-roam aspect. There's a lot to learn, and a lot to experience.

You can turn off things on the menu to the left.

Or you can just use https://rdr2map.com/ This online map has been invaluable for me when hunting for items.

Challenges and creating items at camp
Foxtrot replied to gamerfan1010's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Yes, the gang is in disarray, but you'll be able to continue crafting satchels in Chapter 6. You'll have to see about the weapons and other items. -
Yes, there are missions that unlock features like this. For this one, it's the Chapter 2 mission: "Exit Pursued by a Bruised Ego". Other missions through the story missions unlock other aspects of gameplay, so there's a balance to be found between free-roam exploration and the story missions. If you really want to get the full experience of the game, I'd recommend that you use your first play-through as a practice run to learn the mechanics and when certain aspects are unlocked. Then restart the game over - you're looking at months rather than hours to get the most out of this game.
-
Yeah. I was like this. Once I started RDR2, I didn’t touch anything else for months. And your first play through is just practice. As you learn how the game works, it turns out to be more rewarding the second or third time around.

You can’t even stow things on wagons and use them to transport animals or anything else. All you can really do is hijack them and sell them.
