2 players headshot me on my way to a treasure location in New Austin yesterday. I just respawned, caught back up with them, blasted them with an explosive express rifle round and continued on my merry way.

The way never without one works is instead of taking a headshot when you are wearing a hat, your hat gets shot off. It doesn't matter what hat you are wearing, it's the same effect regardless. Once your hat gets shot off, you are vulnerable to headshots as well as taking increased damage until you can put your hat back on, which you can do from your horse.

But I thought it was "just a game". If something like this was added, no one is forcing you to participate in it.🙄

Don't get me wrong, I'm not totally against hunting especially when it comes to feeding your family. Sport/trophy hunting is a different story.

I realize that it's just a game too. It's a testament to how lifelike Rockstar made this game.

I bought the hobo life camp theme(the cheapest one) just to complete the stupid daily challenge of updating your camp theme, otherwise I wouldn't bother.

You're mean. I feel bad when I wound an animal and don't kill it outright and I have to stand there and watch it suffer as I wait for it to die because I don't want to put another bullet in it and ruin the pelt.

I think the other one was to kill 3 players using explosives while on horseback. That one I completed by joining the dispatch rider free roam event as soon as it popped up. At least there you are supposed to kill each other and everybody is ready for it. I shot 3 players with some explosive ammo and died plenty of times myself.

Yeah, I hated how one of yesterday's daily challenges was to kill 3 players from a moving train. You can't do that outside of free roam and I refuse to kill another player in free roam unless they attack me first.

Yeah, playing this game has pretty much become a 2nd job for me. I have no life.☺

I've grinded my way to level 111 the hard way. All of my levels and all of the cash I've spent has come from hours and hours of play every day. I do admit to mowing down the law in Saint Denis a couple of times, but I've done that very sparingly, just to raise one level quickly when I needed it. I wasn't much of a fan of doing it because I hated taking the hit to my honor. Now with the bounty system it's not even worth it because your bounty would escalate so quickly.

They've mixed it in with the rotation of the other showdown series(regular not large) modes. It really sucks. I wish they would make it so that you can choose which one you want to play instead of it being completely random.

You can't buy in game cash with real money, so as long as they use that and not gold, it should be fine.

Same here and I'm level 111. Treasure maps themselves, outside of the ones you get every 5 levels, are pretty rare.😥

Finding pamphlets in a treasure chest is extremely rare.

Typically tier 1 cards give you a small boost, tier 2 gives a medium boost and tier 3 gives a large boost.

Not that I know of. I think it's always been like this. You just don't get much xp from shooting animals.

Well I don't have a chart or anything, but I can tell you that hunting is one of the slowest ways to gain xp. Do as many of the daily challenges as you can each day. Each one is worth 200 xp. Clearing enemy hideouts is worth 150 xp plus the xp you get for killing the enemies themselves. You'll get bonus xp for headshots, long distance shots, using special ammo, etc. Go into your progress menu and look at your awards. If you've achieved any gold belt buckles, make sure you reset those awards if it lets you because you get xp for each milestone you reach on every reward. You can reset awards up to 10 times as you achieve them. Stranger missions are always good for xp. Take your time, the less time left on the clock when you finish it, the more xp and money you get. Finally, there's always pvp. The showdown series is pretty good for money and xp. Spoils of war was great for it.
