I think this is simple: pistols are up close and personal- while the volcanic is powerful, it's slow. If you are a headshot guy for the XP you want schofields . If you are more concerned about survival and want rapid killing power especially in those situations where you have three almost on top of you, go twin sawed-off. I carry twin Scofields and use a pump shotgun for being overrun.

SIGHTING-IN: First, using your binoculars or gunsite determine if the target has one two or three stars. TAKING THE SHOT: For an alligator you need a powerful rifle and you need to shoot the 3 star alligator in the eye or between the eyes. For a 3-star rabbit, and other small critters and pelicans Etc, you're going to need a varmint rifle. You might need a scope but a Lancaster repeater can easily take down an alligator without special ammo. If you find a cluster of animals, deer or bison for example, get your weapons and get off your horse, crouch and try to conceal yourself. If your horse is following you it will alert the animals and they will run off.

4 days ago the servers crashed in Tennessee and Mississippi. The only way we can get online to play is to join a session where the stuff is not broken. @BurbonChaser and I get booted as soon as we launch the game. Please please help by letting me know if you still have animals birds and fish in your servers and if and when you play so we can join your session. @Lonestar

I know of no other team who can rock a story mission for 997 points per member PLUS xp for marksmanship. You bought into the philosophy and practices since you joined as a Level 4, have risen 19 levels, and are sparkling example of the kind of player @BurbonChaser and I like to ride with. Esprit de Corps: Loyalty to, pride in, and enthusiasm for a unit as shown by its members! You have more than earned your green bandana.

@Jojolunatic my thinking is changing. I think my solution is to find a ride with a 4 or 5 speed rating and decent stamina, and use upgraded saddles and stirrups, etc.

@danjou I revisited a character I created at beta release, Level 6. At level eight, I've began getting griefed byriders in the 50s 60s 70s and 100+ levels. It's nothing more than online bullying and I surmised the problem will not get better unless I report every single one of them. Shooting me once, okay. But when I respawn and I get the same shooter and his buddies again and again, not acceptable.

This was a really terrible response from me and I apologize. What I suggested makes you a griefer. What I meant was, ride your horse right by a posse with your posse members in range for a quick and armed response. Don't even taught them just simply ride by ... I do not advocate, condone or like Griefers

My Missouri Fox Trotter is a pain in the glutes. Wandering off is one thing. But frequent times of having to go running off in different directions and whistling because he cannot be located really turns my crank. And many game analysts insist is the best horse in the online game. He's a Dappled Grey stallion. Maybe I should have gotten the mare. I dunno OBTW I had the turkoman in the story mode.....

Yes, in an inside out and backwards sort of way. You need the level and the money, and the knowledge to apply the right combination of maxed-out ability cards. It makes an adversary very very difficult to kill... who has extended time to eliminate you.

With your fellow Posse members, simply gun-down a posse leader and then once you are charged with murder you can gun down all the responding lawmen for even more XP

WHAT A DAY: I'm proud to report that yesterday, Aces & Eights inadvertently got into a simultaneous firefight with two posses. We defeated both. Our team strategy has evolved and is about to take another leap forward. Kudos to the expert marksmanship from @BurbonChaser and @DistilledGary
