It's funny. I'm at work, and I've accomplished nothing because I've been building my character in my head all day, and drying to figure out which voice (Ultimate Warrior, Lennie Small, or Forest Gump) to use.... I suppose I better brew a whole pot of coffee when I get home.

It's not a lot if everyone does their part. Did nobody learn from Dutch during the first few chapters? 🤣

May I humbly suggest dynamite arrows? I find them particularly... illuminating in story mode.

GTA O has me a bit worried about RDR online
BropolloCreed79 replied to HuDawg's topic in Red Dead Online
I'd be okay with them functioning like they do in single player, where they flash when you have gunfire, or can actually see a rival gang member. -
Well that's because you're reading Kotaku and Polygon. That's like reading CNN or Fox News for unbiased political coverage. Kotaku is... gross. And Polygon is as irrelevant as a Nintendo Wii. That was a mistake--I selected the wrong post. Your warning has been removed, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

GTA O has me a bit worried about RDR online

It's really the only way to balance the game based on skill. AA and Deadeye are over-powered in this environment. -
You're funny. You know damn well from Friday the 13th: The Game that there's parents who actually encourage small children who are barely outside of being toddlers to play inappropriate games. A digital boob or a more, authentic expression of the "fun stuff" isn't going to deter these walking, talking arguments for population control. I've been to her twice already. Granted, it was part of a "Stranger Quest" but still... False equivalence. I can turn off the game and "immerse" myself in the things consenting adults do without violating the law or another person's rights. What I cannot do is go out and hogtie a woman and murder her. The law, and common decency tend to frown on that sort of behavior, so save us the "immersion" argument. Agreed. However, I also posit that I'd much prefer the "real thing" than simulating it. I play video games to do all the things I can't do in real life. I can't ride a horse and fight rival outlaw gangs in the real world. It's the reason we don't have a bestselling "parenting simulator"-nobody wants to play it.

I don't even have an issue with people ganking me (because it's SOOOOOOOO impressive when four guys ambush a solo player, that's some 1337 skills, right there) but this notion that everyone is viewable on the map constantly is nonsense. Even The Division learned from that mistake with their PvP area, the Dark Zone. Hopefully, R* takes note. It's 1899. Nobody is carrying a cellphone for the government to track. There aren't any spy satellites. And there's no surveillance equipment, apart from people's eyes, o I would think that unless people are in your field of vision, or part of your party, it would make more sense for them to not appear on the map or minimap unless they're making enough noise to be heard (like gunfire or dynamite).

You can also lasso most larger animals (with the exception of Bison) and walk them down while tied. You get a prompt for a kill ("O" on PS4), and Arthur will knife them for a clean kill. On a three star animal, it works every time. No degradation of the hide.

That's a profession for people looking to break into "the biz".

I spew explicative laced tirades at them all the time. Especially during poker. Then I stand up, manually save my game, and go full OJ on them.

Rdr2 the best game ever made....

Halo: Combat Evolved is still #1 for me. So perfectly ballanced it makes Thanos have to adjust his codpiece. -
IRL stuff, bro. Haven't been on since Sunday, and I'm baking apple pies right now. Things will ease up a bit after Monday (when I'll hopefully be returning from a successful deer harvest).

Still on chapter 2, bro.

He's going to have his own .22 before he has his own phone. I need to see that he can be responsible enough to respect his possessions and treat them with the care they warrant. Next summer, I'll take him to the farm and he'll get to shoot for the first time. He already helps me clean my gun and pack my kit when I go deer hunting every year, and he should be ready for the increased level of responsibility.

I don't think it's a fair comparison at this point because we have only experienced half (or less) of the game in that we haven't seen RDR2 Online as of yet. Folks will have their reasons for supporting one over the other, but for me, the pacing of the story mode in RDR2 is vastly superior. With few notable exceptions, the pacing is languid and allows me as a player to just soak in the ambiance that the game creates, enveloping me in it's atmosphere and titillating my appreciation for world building, story telling, and taking advantage of my appreciation for small nods and winks--there's so many of these that I couldn't even begin to elaborate on them here, but I play almost every day at this point for multiple hours a day, and I'm STILL only in Chapter 2, but still finding new things. I mean,

My oldest is only 8, so he's a few years from having a phone, but Ground Rule #1 is definitely going to be, "Thou Shall NOT Use Internet Slang Nor Colloquialisms When Messaging Thy Parents." Neither Mrs. Creed nor myself use shorthand when texting. Mrs. Creed's biggest sin is emoticons, but otherwise, we "Habla Ingles" and avoid shorthand because as former athletes (decades ago), we adhere to "you play how you practice". It's solid advice for just about everything, and we stress it for our kids even when studying: sit down and relax when studying, because when testing in school, the instructors don't allow you to walk around the room, use the restroom, eat, or glance at your phone/device. The same can be said of writing habits. If 75% of someone's communication is done via text, full of acronyms, shorthand, and emoticons, they will be functionally illiterate when they need to produce papers in an academic environment. Practice how you want to play, indeed.

Not like it matters, just walk into literally ANY city and spam "Howdy" and your honor will max out fairly quickly. -

I feel like there's an opportunity here for a youtube series whereby you grab this guy with a lasso and toss him off of a bridge while saying "I think he's down there" or putting him on train tracks, dropping him over ledges, abandoning him at gang hideouts, etc... -

I literally just slam it down and hold it. After he starts moving, I let go (while not aiming it at him, just to be sure), and the gun usually goes down without discharging. -
Anecdotally, I've found scent concealer to be a HUGE benefit, in that I have far less tracking to do than when I don't use it.
