I played two long sessions today and no blue screen! It may have been because I was on EU servers though, so will see when I log into a NA server later. So far so good though! Edit- Evening session went without a disconnect.

There is no such thing as luck, so ... My guess is random number generator.

Sask. here too, but I have been having a lot of these disconnects. They tend to happen more not long after I log in from being off a few hours. I have submitted reports to Rockstar and have received the same response about reformatting HDD, etc. Also performed the cache wipe as described here and that didn't help either. I am stumped.

Has anyone looked into these disconnects happening when other players are exploiting the pike glitch?

Have you noticed larger treasures?
Miltonastic replied to Major Dammidge's question in Questions & Answers
"In addition, all players who jump into Red Dead Online this week will get a gift of 15 Gold Bars and see a 25% increase of XP on A Land of Opportunities, Free Roam Missions, Showdown Modes, Races and Free Roam Events. Treasure hunters will also find 25% extra Cash and Gold in chests containing them. All Ultimate Edition owners will also get a gift of RDO$100 and the Throat Slit emote for free." https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/60954/Red-Dead-Online-World-Updates-New-Missions-Poker-and-The-Road-Ahead -
I would double check people saying the beta is over... As I understand it the official statement was that it was near the end, not that it was over. All official Rockstar communications say the beta phase is winding down, but I may be wrong. It certainly doesn't feel like a game out of beta.

Random Strangers Escort Missions Glitch
Miltonastic replied to Songojames's topic in Red Dead Online
I would suggest saving a screenshot and/or video and submitting them to Rockstar at their site as a bug. Sounds weird alright. -
You might want to look into the Arthur's Angels thread. It's a real good bunch of friendly helpful people with players at various online gaming experience levels. No one is judgy and they all seem to want to help, which is so neat! There's some awesome people from your side of the pond in the group as well! I won't presume to speak for the boss, but hit him up and I'm guessing you might find a home.

They can't be slippery bastards if they're laying on the ground with their skull crushed. Or flying through the air with no appendages after being dynamited ...

It's very confusing. I don't bother switching teams anyway and I stay on the team I'm dealt, win or lose. Unless with the posse of course.

They went and took away the one match I liked.

I've been running the small too. There seems to more fun formats in it. -

Thanks for the heads up on where those match types are found now. I've been noticing the lobby almost completely empties out when the solo hunt and kill matches cycle up. You would think that would be sending a clear message to Rockstar. Eventhough I'm getting better at those solo maps, I still don't like them. I prefer to work on a team. For those, I wish they would fix up how the teams get sorted out though. -
Rise In High Levels Being Voted to be Kicked in Showdown
Miltonastic replied to Savage_Reaper's topic in Red Dead Online
Maybe you have a crappy sounding mic? I notice most players don't know about the mute and just vote to kick noisy or annoying because of a bad mic players. -

Yes, Plunder has completely disappeared, and the only options left are some series choices with different games. That would be ok if the games were fun. Unfortunately too many aren't really, Too many of them are just running around solo being lost. I think most of the games left are only fun for a few. The rest of us are there to pad their stats. I need a posse... -
Says it all I liked the loot bag mini games. Anyone know why they took them out? I actually don't care for many of the others.
-
Ya, I actually got a mvp in a match this morning! I assume the other side were all lagging and glitching, cause, well, I wasn't lying when I said I sucked. 😚😉 I was owned by a level 28 in free roam earlier, so... ya (I think it may have been someone leveling a new character though. They were sure slick. I do feel like I'm improving in the pvp area though, so that has me even more motivated now. Level 65 and chugging along.

Still looking for an active posse that plays to have fun. I'm on pretty much all night tonight and tomorrow night. Friend request me on PSN and message me. Same name as here. Same name in game as well. If someone is just looking for company to do missions with for a session I'm up for that too. I don't roleplay, but I can keep my mouth shut and shoot stuff. I just don't accept random posse invites in game though.
-
Pretty much rhetorical. I do intend on providing feedback on this and some other stuff on their site, but I needed to vent after a couple of expensive disconnects this morning. I had the day off and was planning on trying a long xp and money trip. The disconnects changed that plan and I was typing while thinking about what to do next. 😉

Like the title says, it can't be that difficult. If the game can remember what's in my satchel after a disconnect or match, then it can remember what is stored on my horse. You can see why people are so frustrated. Disconnects happen and are definitely annoying, but when the game erases an hour or more of a player's time by wiping their horse cargo, then anger is understandable. As an example, I had been hunting for a bit and had a perfect cougar carcass, perfect buck hide, perfect deer hide and a couple of perfect wolf hides. That took up game time to get those things. Not remembering my inventory is in a sense stealing my time. To be frank, this erasing people's time by wiping their horse inventory after disconnects and matches could seem intentional to some. Trying to drive people into matches maybe? If so, tsk tsk and stop it Riockstar. Yes I can stick close to butchers and I try to, but you've limited their locations and so I don't get to enjoy the areas of the game I like to hunt in. Or I can stick to stuff that won't disappear. Then I'm limited to fishing, bird plucking (which has been nerfed) and picking herbs. You shouldn't mess with people's time. That's the true most valuable commodity in these games. No inventory should be lost after a disconnect or after joining a match. Oh, and put me back in the same spot I was when I joined a free roam event or quick join a match. Not on the complete opposite side of the map in the middle of nowhere. That can't be difficult either.

Online Mode Is An Unskilled Broken Mess.
Miltonastic replied to Ghostreaper240's topic in Red Dead Online
I get very frustrated at his game as well, but not for the same reasons and I don't have the apparent anger at the game either. Most of my frustrations are caused by lack of skill on my part and poor decision making on my part as well. 1. This is a free to play game. You paid for the single player game, not online mode. If you spent real money on a game in beta (don't know if you did, but just saying) then that's your issue. You knew what you were doing. That said, disconnects happen in every online game I have ever played, beta or not. Every.Single.One. I do not think it's right that Rockstar is already conducting these microtransactions I have never seen a company not replace most items lost due to a disconnect if the game is live and not in the beta phase anymore. This game is not live yet though. When it is live, I would expect that there will be a system for rectifying lost inventory items. Frankly right now in my opinion they shouldn't be wasting their time replacing items. They should be fixing the disconnects. I have also learnt to limit the time I carry items on my horse that may get lost. If I decide to go on a long journey away from a butcher, then I accept that I'm playing a game in beta and take my chances. 95% of the time I don't DC and I'm cashing in my $200.00 to $300.00 in fish and pelts though. I don't agree that the community is toxic at all. In fact, by far, most players I run into in free roam just whistle and ride on by, or wave, or just speed by. Those that fire at me or kill me are playing the game their way, within the game's rules as they stand now. There are various ways I can escape someone hunting me after they kill me, so unless someone is exploiting it's up o me to extricate myself from these situation. It's part of thegame and once I got the hang of it the fun actually increased since I get that bit of excitement from evading players. Yes there are tweaks to the rules Rockstar can make in the future, but from what I understand, they already made knee jerk changes to the conflict system and those quick fixes caused more problems than they fixed. Everyone has access to the same game mechanics and abilities. Things vary depending on level, but really not too much. Higher levels do have some explosive ammo , but I think there are counters to them when you run into them. I also hold back from posting anything anywhere too soon after getting killed in game ... -
I can't explain it, but I know this happened to me a couple of times last night and this morning as well. Very frustrating. If it's some kind of intended mechanic it's not explained very well, if at all. I hope this isn't an exploit some have found, because I can't seem to shake the feeling this only happened when I was aiming at certain players. Do you look at you loadout from the side menu in before matches?

I hit 55 today. I'm still enjoying the game, but then again I'm a grinder from way way back, so I've had no problem hunting and fishing while clearing hideouts and hoping to get ambushed at the right spots. I've pvped sparingly, but have begun to join matches more and more. I'm hoping to improve enough that I quit throwing my controller on the floor. 😉 I've pretty much avoided all the stranger missions. I was hoping to concentrate on them when I found a posse, so still looking forward to that. What keeps me going is the possibility of this game. Honestly with just a few tweaks ...

Top Red Dead Online Player Requested Features
Miltonastic replied to NewsBot's topic in Red Dead Online
Pets, mainly a dog, but other pets as well. The dog should be able to retrieve carcasses of smaller animals and track maybe. A butcher or two in the North. Preferrably one East, one West. Better kind of in game communication to aid in grouping and posse joining/recruiting. Some kind of training grounds with weapon/technique/ability card specific training? This is just a seed of an idea as I'm writing, so I have to think more on that one. Clothing and equipment crafting. In addition to this and to compliment it, some kind of inter-player barter/trade system. -
how do you report children playing RDO?

Just mute them? Why care?
