I completely forgot about it this year. I didn't end up getting anything. I think it ends after today and unfortunately, I don't get paid till tomorrow. I will catch sales some other time. I feel like I can get better deals during their smaller ones anymore anyways.

I feel like some of this holds truth but other parts may be exaggerated or made up. I mean the whole radar thing, that sounds perfect for this game, especially for an old west game. Having played things like Blacklight Retribution, a similar thing has been done in other games. However, you only go invisible when you are staying still or moving slow. I think Halo was another one that did this. I would actually rather see something more fine-tuned than this. Rather than having to be "x distance away" from someone or them having to be moving quickly to show up, I would like to see it where you have to see them on screen (visual awareness like with AIs) or they have to be performing a certain action that would trigger loud sounds... Using an unsilenced gun, traveling on a horse, using dynamite, things like that should trigger people to pop up on the radar.

I will be playing with my controller... Joking aside, this is an interesting topic. I don't really think much about stuff like this. Like others have mentioned, I tend to just go with the direction of the character.

Forum Opening Giveaway: Win a Copy of Red Dead Redemption 2!
Skrylaxx replied to Lonestar's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Any thoughts on running a second giveaway for the collector's edition? Just curious. I know that would cost more but it could be something you do later on before they sell out, like maybe in December or something. I don't plan on buying it, I just don't want to spend that much on it. I am guessing it will be $100+ -
I was thinking the same thing. I mean I am sure the servers will be better than GTA V but when that launched it was hell to go on and then you'd end up in a server with a bunch of tots running around screaming titties and hookers. I'll be too busy playing the campaign to care anyways.

Playing as someone else other than Arthur?
Skrylaxx replied to DiamondDave's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
If they are smart, they will do just that. They will have you be Arthur for like 85% of the game and then just switch it on you and have you pull the trigger on him. One would assume you grow to enjoy the guy so it makes it even more intense when you have to shoot him. I see no way this game ends where he is alive. -
Most gaming trailers are like this. I mean you can't get too fussed over it.

Is not advertising the online end a smart move?
Skrylaxx replied to tadp0le's topic in Red Dead Online
This is the most logical reason not to oversaturate people with online end content in ads. They did do pushes for GTA V online but it wasn't in the beginning when the game first game out. -
Yeah Far Cry works cause that is the game it is. Rockstar has done the same thing for years now with adjustments and graphic enhancements as consoles got more advanced.

I just have one very serious question that needs to be answered and I am hoping the answer is yes... Is it October yet?

Will RDR2 Online hold sustainable success like GTA V Online?
Skrylaxx replied to CowBoii's topic in Red Dead Online
I like the idea of having a solid online end that lasts but if you can extend the story for the campaign, it will mean more. They can do partial stories even and make them $20 each. Maybe allow you to play as someone else. -
The idea is to be able to "explore" the entirety of the map. There can be value in "breaking and entering" as well. Say a door is locked, you bust it open and you get a warrant out for your arrest if someone happens to be home or if someone sees you. Can steal jewelry, guns, ammo, etc.

Well yeah... He either will be a big part or he won't be, lol I know they will have new characters other than the ones shown in the trailer (and Arthur ofc). It just feels like we are all talking in riddles at this point. We know enough to speculate things but what good does that do us?
-
Ha! That is pretty good. If I knew how to do this art style I would swap them all out for other characters. I have seen it done a few times.
-
It isn't just them. Plenty of games old and new can be done pretty fast. I don't mind this though. I like having things to do on the side of a main mission as well as it builds character to the actual characters and interactions in the game.

Graphics camparision between RDR2 and GTAV
Skrylaxx replied to Supergtor's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
A video that states " graphics comparison" with no actual comparisons will not get you very many views on YouTube. You may end up with more dislikes if anything. It was hard to hear you like mentioned too. I am not sure where the graphics will fall on scale but they are clearly a lot better than RDR. -
It depends on what angle they take this. They didn't really explain much about his background either in the first one other than government stuff in Blackwater.

Will RDR2 Online hold sustainable success like GTA V Online?
Skrylaxx replied to CowBoii's topic in Red Dead Online
Yup this is how I feel. You can't really give a guess on this without logic if we have nothing but "looks" to base this on. We haven't even seen any of the gameplay yet. -
What percentage of players will play online?
Skrylaxx replied to redscrew's topic in Red Dead Online
I still don't get how those games sell as good as they do every year. Their fanbase is just too simple. I did play a few CoD games but I never bought them. They were either given to me or borrowed. That game should just split off from campaigns all together and charge $30 for the multiplayer end. -
Give it a little more time. I am guessing we will get some news on online stuff in May or June. More likely June because of E3.
-
Well yeah using them on a plane makes sense. I still think generally, people prefer the look and feel of books which is a good thing.

This. No one will agree until they realize all aspects of the situation. You can't just not do anything and you can't just take all guns away.
