Glopez
I read some different aspects of the game in terms of making items using certain ingredients. I have played Minecraft before, don't judge me, and it seems as if we will be allowed to make a number of things using "recipes". I am assuming this will include different animal parts, plant life, and maybe general findings. How deep do you think this will go? I mean I don't mind this kind of thing being in the game but I don't want it to be overwhelming.
Archbell
I don't think the crafting will become overwhelming as it seems to be somewhat optional. You don't have to gather ingredients and make your own meals, you can buy a meal in town or raid someone's pantry. You don't have to hunt down and animal to craft a warm coat, you can buy one in town. Having said that, I do believe crafting will have benefits such as one of a kind clothing pieces and meals that replenish your core/stats far better than the average premade meal. Benjo
Crafting in Far Cry Primal was simple and non-laborious. Looking forward to it, personally.
YodaMan 3D
More I hear about all of the extras, can change a game from fun to doing a second job for free. I remember when Rockstar did this kind of stuff for GTA San Andreas, to keep it real. I hated to have to stop and eat and exercise. It was kind of a hassle when trying to bust out some missions. I imagine they'll make it easy like they do in GTA5 where you have food in your inventory you can just eat in a few seconds.
BropolloCreed79
Crafting is the most over used and inappropriately employed mechanic in modern gaming. Just once, I'd like an immersive Action RPG that didn't require me to kill 6,000 rattlesnakes to make a snakeskin belt.
riptide87
It won't be as "complex" as minecraft, not that it was complex but just time consuming and repetitive. I don't mind needing to gather things to make stuff so long as it progresses the story or I get something worth having at the end of it.

Maybe R$ will answer.
#SadCowboy
This kind of stuff adds length to the game so I wouldn't complain too much about it. Now if it ends up being repetitive and you really don't gain much from it, then I would say yeah that would suck.

I highly doubt they will focus on it to the extent that you are forced to do it all the time. My guess is only a number of things will be "forced" for story progression and the rest will solely be based on character relationships and 100% completion.
