Yeah, you never know what the future may hold.  .....but I have a feeling the campaign and RDO beta will keep me busy for a long time before I start craving more.

Same. I don't think I'll ever get bored of this game, RDO will fill my appetite for years, and I'll have a blast playing the campaign over and over again. So really, the only games that could make me stop playing RDR2. Is GTA 6, Bully 2, or God Of War 5.

I have to admit to not knowing what your meaning by the "editor"

I'm in the same boat as you. What is the editor exactly? Maybe I know it as being called something else??

If it is something people care about, they will likely add it in later. It would be the smart thing to do.

It lets you record your gameplay then you can edit it with several different styles, shots etc

Its what people use to make gta 5 films for YouTube

The game just released. I think Rockstar is focused on the actual game first before adding extras. I think they will eventually put this feature in the game if requested by the majority.

A lot of YouTubers use things like that so they can show you "How To Use The Latest Cheats, Glitches, and Hacks", that everyone abuse the game instead of just a few players.  It's harder for a company to ban everyone if they all cheat vs a few that won't be missed for cheating.

Just visited with a YouTuber a few nights ago on GTA: Online, that was bragging about all of the cheats he has exposed online to have find out that many of his followers have been banned from the game.  Meanwhile he keeps making the videos.

I recall an interview with R* regarding how impressed they were with the films coming from the community in GTAV.  I think they can appreciate it and realize how others enjoy it as well.  I can see R* at least considering it for RDR2.

There are a number of YTers out there creating this sort of content purely for entertainment, telling their own stories, making mini films, etc.  Some of it is really quite good IMO (a lot of talent out there).

Well the Rockstar Editor was mainly used by YouTuber's for making montages or funny short films. The exploiters used a regular game capture as they didn't need the extra tools to make everything look fancy, it was mainly file exploits and PS3 jailbreak related mods where you use a custom firmware and server to put mods into the game.

Now that the PS3 era is done, you can't transfer your Character over to the PS4 platform anymore so it makes it impossible for modded accounts to get into the game. Red Dead Redemption 2 isn't on PS3 or Xbox 360 so it will stay modded free until the PS4 or XBOX ONE becomes exploited.

Bottom line, when a system/console gets modded where you can change and edit the systems code and file system, there is only little action a gaming company can do. The power of exploits to take full control of your console, out weighs the power of the game control for the most part. No matter what they do, mods will always find away around the game code, because it's a video game, not a security system. The blame for modding and console exploitation should all begin with the consoles security, not the game developers.

All it took was one exploit breach into the PS3, which was back in 2011 by GeoHot, and the rest was history. The console is still being modded today based off of one exploit to the security system from 2011. No matter what any game developer does, people have full control of the system on their PlayStation 3, making it possible to mod any game that their soul desires.

Well, at least now I know and understand what the "editor" is and what it does .. bottom line .. couldn't care less about it, nearest I get is an occasional screenshot on xbox, otherwise, editor be damned ..

Yeah, the editor is for people who really love making video content, which is pretty much almost every young gamer out there. YouTube has become a big thing with video games, and people want to make cool videos.
