I wouldn't have really minded losing a few collectables as it would mean I play the game for longer, and I really did enjoy taking my time with this game. Same here. Lemoyne Raider camps and their HQ at Shady Belle are a pretty reliable source of loot, anyway.
Tom Dooley
I`ve never bought a horse in story mode. good horses can be found easily. One of the better horses is actually given when this random guy gets kicked and killed by his horse. Catch it and stable it, and fill up your stable with decent horses
Foxtrot
True. But you get so much money during the game that it gets difficult to find stuff to spend it on.
Dethmonk
Hah! Glad to know I wasn't alone. I've triggered this twice now, immediately following the Strawberry - San Denis Dry Dash. First time, like everyone else here, they killed me and my horse (also a white Arabian I'd had from close to the start). I was also confused and pissed, but fortunately I had a save state from only maybe 30min before, so I loaded it, redid the run and rode to the same bridge, just north of the Stables. This time I jumped off the horse right before I reached the edge of the bridge, scoped on a figure sitting in the field and figured they were going to jump me again - seems like this is scripted for that bridge, and maybe immediately after the Strawberry - San Denis run. I started sprinting for the buildings on the right and managed to take cover before the gatling gun got me, and then was able to pick off each Leymoyne Raider one by one - I survived the ambush! Then I was curious if the gatling gun wagon was still around, and it was - and my character was able to jump on and use it. I'm currently taking it to Emerald Station to see if I can fence it, aside from that not sure what else I could do but maybe go and raid Shady Belle. Glad to see this wasn't a glitch and is in fact survivable, hope my story helps others - always save before leaving San Denis on that bridge!
James72
Tip: go find the arabian horse, bound it to level 4 and sell it. I sold mine for 450$. Then go for another.
harry747
450 bucks for an arabian? which one? i have a white one from lake isabella, and when im at a stable, he only offers me 240 for it. i also tried to find the black one near the indian reservation and the red one near owanjila lake, but no luck. near owanjila lake i found some horses but no arabians, and the only horse i've seen near the indian reservation was my own. has anyone found them? Tater
I tamed a Thoroughbred tonight and tried to sell it at the stable near Strawberry, but he would only pay $5. After riding to the horse fence (getting level 2 bonding on the way) I sold it for $15. Does bonding increase the value or is it just because I went to the horse fence instead of the stable. Now the thread got ambushed. But yes, bonding increases the value of horses. As does selling to the right buyer. Tamed and stolen horses sell for a higher value at the horse fence.
