Any way to check your funds?

Besides being at your camp or being in a store in town, is there any way in the settings to just see how much money you have like if you're in the middle of nowhere? I looked around in all the menus, but can't seem to find a way. I'm probably overlooking something but thought maybe somebody would be able to provide some insight on this.

D-pad down should expand the map if it isn't already, show the area, time, temp, amount of funds, etc.  Not unlike GTAV if you're familiar with that UI.

Kean you are on top of your game brother.😎

Thanks @Kean_1 I am familiar with the GTA interface, and like I said, I knew it was something small that I just hadn't noticed. I'll look for that next time I play. Funny how I notice a lot of little things like the pattern that the butterfly flies around in, but didn't notice something that was staring me in the face LOL

I know that feeling...

Just tap down on the d pad and it shows everything. Holding down gives you minimap options.

Fun fact, did you know if you equip the pocket watch in your inventory, select it and choose "use" it will then display the pocket watch on the pause menu and the time displayed on the pocket watch is the actual time in the game. I was impressed with this level of detail.

You can check it by pressing down on the d-pad to see the in-game time. Then press the pause button and the pocket watch reflects the same time. The little things they think of in this game are amazing.

I don't recall doing that... I thought it was always in the menu. I just discovered yesterday that it's accurate though.

Yeah, there are even a lot of somewhat hidden features in some of the controls.  I'm still learning new ones as I go.

Me too...I am sure this one is well known,  but yesterday I noticed that if you hold the 'options' button  for approximately 3 seconds, it takes you straight to the map, rather than hitting options, then selecting 'map.' Probably takes the same amount of time but I guess it's still a little easier.

Same here. I learned that one a few days after launch and it helped a lot.

These are really good features.  I'm just unsure why they haven't made them more accessible through a control list in the menu, etc.

Yeah, I've been trying that but to no avail.  Something's not right.  This seems like a simple task lol I must be doing something wrong.  Here's what happens when I do that....

LMAO Not sure how I never noticed that!!!! Probably because I was holding it in.  In any case, thanks for clarifying that.

It does show a few different things unexpectedly, so it is kind of easy to miss if you don't know it's there. It also blends into the background a lot.

It should have said not sure 'IF' I feel stupid lol

"IF" it helps, I didn't even notice. You could've swapped it and no one would've known the difference.

Literally just figured that out yesterday when I was tinkering with my UI settings to set up a photo of a corpse wall comprised of O'Driscolls.

I have to say, playing the game with nothing on the screen (not even a mini map) and using the companion app instead is absolutely something everyone should experience.  The immersion is frightening if for no other reason than how gorgeous the game is.

I'm definitely going to download that app and try it today. That is, if I can get home before my wife... Right now there's a rule, whoever gets home first and grabs that controller - is playing. And now she's in chapter 4 and I'm in chapter 3 still... my mistake was wanting a wife who likes gaming... So she got addicted to the first one and now she is playing this one.  Serves me right I guess LMAO I just hang out in the bedroom when she's playing so there's no spoilers.

that is not necessarily a bad thing.  My wife will drift in and out of my gaming sessions whenever she needs a laugh, but otherwise she leaves well enough alone.  I have no interest in Grey's Anatomy, and her gaming interest is just as fleeting.

Mistake?! Sounds like you got a keeper!

Your only mistake was not buying a second ps4!

I tried that one... LMFAO she wasn't taking the bait unfortunately. Besides, she doesn't have any interest in multiplayer. She doesn't think she's very good and she thinks she would just get killed all the time. I told her she could play with me, and I would just pick off anyone who shot her... Still a no-go LOL I actually have a second PS4, the one that died a couple weeks ago. I might just buy a new hard drive for it

The problem is, she'll be like "hey can you come and help me with this?"... And I'll see something I didn't want to see. It's okay, I think I can catch up to her by the time I get home and start playing LOL pedal to the metal!

I wish I could use the companion app but alas, my devices are a wee bit too old as they don't have the latest version of Android that is required for the app.  I don't know why they made it incompatible with previous versions but it is what it is.  .....my phone isn't even that old.

I upgraded this past June, and my previous Android was up to snuff, so I keep my old phone as an internet/steaming/app device (loaded with music).  I had to manually update the software, but it was worth it.
