The Main Character

If you pay close attention you can notice that every single first trailer Rockstar Games ever realesed for a new game, it just showing the game areas and open world but then at the end, the main character talks, So I guess the character who talked at the end of RDR2 trailer our protagonist or one of them at least.

For example:

GTA V first trailer

GTA IV first trailer

I didn't actually connect this and it would make sense to keep up with the tradition. What about the previous RDR trailer though?

I don't recall this happening at all.

You're correct. It wasn't the case with RDR's first trailer, the narrator was Bonnie's father, Drew MacFarlane.

BINGO! I am not sure if they will so something similar to this in the next trailer but I am hoping we get a bit more inside as to who the characters will be and what the story line actually is.

I thought this myself but like it was pointed out above, RDR was nothing like GTA V trailers. Still, I mean it may be different if they are marketing this game as a gang and playing through 3 separate stories that are bunched into one.

I hope. above all else, we don't get multiple protagonists. It didn't work in GTA V, and looking back if RDR 1 made me play as anybody other than john (except after the end of the game) it would have really ruined any attachment, at the very least you like the characters because you have spent this much time with them and had so many memories, and i feel 3x the protagonists means 3x less relationship. please R*, not again.

I liked it in GTA V and I think it worked. Playing a bit with Michael and seeing his family and then jumping to Trevor to cause all sorts of trouble was fun. I just wish they had a playable female character. At the end of the game I loved Michael more but I also liked playing with Trevor because he was so mad.

They could still make a main character you can attach to but having one or two others that play differently and have different things happening will be fun. One day you are robbing some old people with one character and the next day you are working on a ranch helping those same people out with a different character.

I feel that it wouldn't fit the tone of red dead, which is far more grounded and story driven (from my experiences, looking back on all the gta games ive played i remember moments not so much deep characters). I feel it would really benefit from a single flushed out character, although being able to play as other gang members during some missions i would get behind, and if they did multiple protagonists I would hope they have decently varied play styles

You make a good point and I think it all depends on how much effort they would be willing to put in to get something with multiple characters to work.

I would love if they had two, perhaps a Male/Female combo but I also know that playing as a woman back at the time would also not really fit in as nicely. As long as we get a good story then I don't mind too much.

I think if R* was going to add a female protagonist now is the time, I know this might not be a popular opinion but I feel female characters and GTA just don't fit together, but red dead would be the perfect platform.Their are also already established female characters that could be played, like Johns wife or Bonnie McFarlane. I think it would be a cool thing to see

I actually think playing as a gambling high-class gal like Kate from 'Tombstone' would be interesting.  But also, it's a difficult sell to add a female protagonist in RDR and GTA because of the politically contentious nature of doing so.  Again, I'm totally open to it, but let's do so out of creativity, not necessity.

TL;DR: Don't add females to the game just for the sake of adding them. Do it because you think it adds value to the storyline or gameplay.
