Multiple Endings could be a thing...

Now I am not sure if this is just a rumor based on GTA V but I overheard some people talking in a GameStop about there being alternate endings for RDR2. How would this even fit in if it is true? I was going to ask where they heard that but people kept going up to be rung out. It was an employee and his friend I think. I looked online and didn't see anything of the sort.

I think it's still too early to call it either way. Personally I'd like multiple endings myself but also rather different based on decisions you make throughout the game (e.g. screw over Billy and his uncle will come hunt you down but help him and his second cousin might come hunt you down too or just be an extra thorn in your side later or). The multiple endings in GTA V are pretty much presented right at the very ending and really none of the game up until that point has any impact on the possible choices.

Now if we were around three months away from release I'd say that anything someone had heard might have some credibility however with the delay I suspect that they didn't really mean what they said about it and have instead had to go back to the drawing board a bit to change some of the core game-play mechanics and/or story some internal testing that showed it just wasn't as much fun as they had hoped it would be (or just been pressured to get more online stuff in to get more possible revenue in ala GTA V online style).

I mean this is what they said when it was delayed: " the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans". I don't buy the delay purely for that reason alone...

Yes this would be a nice treat to be implemented in RDR2 for sure. GTA V having the endings being different was okay but nothing you did within the story truly impacted anything. They don't need to over think it either. They can use the basis of Fable and gauge moral if they wanted.

I can't see it being done in a prequel. I would like to see this in the next one though if they do plan on doing another one. I would like there to be at least 3. Maybe the last one will pick up with Jack or something.

Same way I look at it. No one even knows if it is a prequel or not but all things point to that being the case so multiple endings wouldn't make sense.

Multiple ends would mean someone would die and would likely mean we play as more than one person. While I am not entirely jumping on ship with the idea yet, I wouldn't hate it. I would have to see when it happens and why.
