Hazed0NE
Not sure where everyone is from but I recently heard Germany passed some laws that will fine and could land you in prison for "hate speech" online geared at Islam or Muslims. Canada followed and passed something similar and now Europe is also considering it. I guess even if you are not being hateful but using stats about rape or murder, you can pay a pretty fee. A lot of this is being targeted on Twitter and Facebook. Thoughts?

While I know what is going on, you just can't underestimate idiots in large numbers. I am just going to do the best I can for my family and friends. I know that is selfish but what else can we do at this point? If Trump wasn't in office, you know Hillary would be introducing this into the US next Tuesday. D3x
Dumbest thing people have wanted in the last 20 years. I think that the media is making people believe people are more dangerous than they actually are so they can do stupid stuff like this. Trick us into signing away our freedoms. DarkShark
Had no idea it was going on. Honestly, I don't use social media to crap on people or their opinions so let the animals fight themselves.
X S
Times like these, I'm glad I live in the US where people still fervently pride 'free speech', even though it's constantly under attack from some sort of puritanical group, left or right, depending on the generation. Today, it's the thought-police of establishment institutions who seek to police wrong-think. And it's not even crazy to think about how absurd some of these policies have become with the recent events that have unfolded in the tech industry and social media as a whole. I've read some of the laws in other countries, and I'm just shocked at how arbitrary they are. It really puts the 1st Amendment in perspective and just how important it is in the US.
shawn
The thing about the US is that while freedom of speech is being threatened, this country will never become a full blown Socialist country. The reason being is that another Civil War will stop it... And we all know the people with the money and power will win.
redscrew
Hate speech is another way of saying that we need more reasons to hate people. I swear it is like the media loves when we fight and so does the big government. I hardly ever see any issues with hate speech where I am. If I turn on the news, it is like a fantasy land or something. Not realty for me.
