Will the servers crash in the first week of RDR2's release?

I am not sure if this happened all over, but in my area, GTA V's online servers crashed the first week it was open to the public. I think it was down for 2 days if I recall. I am guessing not as many people will be on RDR2 at first since GTA V was a way more popular game and all but still... you think there is a chance they will crash?

I would like to say they won't make the same mistakes twice but who am I kidding... It could happen. 

I hope not for my own sake cause I hate when gaming servers go down. Happens more than it should for some games.

If it was because Red Dead Redemption 2 was the fastest selling game of all time, I wouldn't care.

Anything less than that and I would be disappointed  Like @Anc1entC0re says, you'd have to assume that they've learned from the past.

The sales would have to be substantial for this to happen. And not only high sales but people jumping online in a hurry, all at once. I can't see it happening again. Maybe if this was another GTA but not a RDR2.

I would laugh if it happens. I don't think it will simply as mentioned above, RDR2 is no GTA game but I guess there is the chance. If they screw up on their end, it is possible.

I am going to say yes. I think the amount of people who first jump online will cause it to get overloaded. I can't remember the exact cause of it in GTA, I remember I read a thing on it but I can totally see it happening again. Maybe not for two days, maybe a few hours.

I still can't see the amounts matching GTA at first. Maybe over the first several weeks or few months but nothing as big as GTA V online. I don't see it happening.

Nah they will be fine. This won't be as big of a load up as GTA and even if it was, they will have better servers and tech behind them by now. That was in what? 2013? Should be more than able to handle things.

The chances of them making this mistake again are very slim to none though but I am right there with you. I would laugh but I would likely get pissed after 20 minutes of them being down. lol

Well yeah, it would be an "LOL egg on their face" moment for us until we realize we can't play it for while. If they do crash they won't be down nearly as long. Like you said, chances are slim to none.

Yeah this is something I was considering and saying in the OP.

A bit late to be coming back to this thread lol Sorry about that guys. As for the replies, I agree with most of it. I can too see it going down but only for a few hours, not days.
