So my Posse and I are riding around and somehow encounter a cherry red level 105. I chased him shot him and the game awarded me a gold bar!!! Finally, a bounty for us good guys. Have you gotten one yet?? If not, keep popping those cherries! $$$

Have you noticed that you can no longer see red players from across the map?  They are proximity based now as well and while they extend a bit further than blue dots, they still have limitations to how far you can see them.

As for the bounty, I do believe I have done one before, but it wasn't through a posse. I went to a stranger mission that requested I go and kill someone for profit, and I accepted the job and got payment out of it. However, I think you get more rewarded if you are in a posse and find a bounty and eliminate.

Just wondering how you know hes  a griefer?

And are you sure the gold wasn't from Combat or Sharpshooter reward?

That would be awesome if that's true but it may be exploitable.

Example: Player 1 joins Player 2s lobby but not their posse. Player 1 initiates hostile action against the rest of the lobby, driving up their hostility. Player 2 comes and kills Player 1 and gets a gold bar. Both players leave the lobby for a new one and switch roles.

Speaking of gold bars, customizing your weapons is so expensive!!!!

I have a full black outfit, but I didn't want the guns to have a wood finish, so I wanted blackened steel guns, and oh my goodness to change the entire gun is like 8-10 gold bars alone and I had a lot of weapons to customize.

No joke....   I use up a lot of gold just to change the finish on my Schofields.  I left the hammers and IIRC the triggers the original silver-colored material.  .....didn't even get around to changing the wood nor my long guns.

I was expecting the gun upgrades to be a little cheaper. I just wanted blackened steel guns to match my outfit because I'm wearing all black, so I used up pretty much all 40 gold bars I had, and for the convenience of getting all of my guns black, I bought the $5 25 gold pack sale that they had I think it was, and that was immediately gone right after I finished up my rolling block rifle.

Same here. My outfit is essentially all black with the exception of my shirt which is white.

Kind of off topic but I'll add to this anyway. Gun customizations are horribly overpriced I spent 30 Gold bars on one LeMat changing all areas to Gold (which was 5 bars for each area between Cylinder, Barrel, Frame, Trigger, Hammer, etc...) and adding black engraving.

@HuDawg it was not during any special activity...  he was shooting at me and missed until I collected myself and got into my guns ablazin' horseback-offense mode. There was a gold numeral 1, small, right center screen, with a small gold icon centered under the "1" a symbol I have not seen in 299 levels of play. Whatever it was, it was new and not a regular type of award or achievement

So, if you see a red blip, you can shoot them and receive a bounty?

I mean just in free roam, not mission related, I see a red blip, I kill him I get a reward?

I want to know for sure, this will add a whole new level of play for me,

I know you started another post on the gun customization costs, But I wanted to add, yes it is expensive, I have two well three different outfits I rotate between plus my winter outfit, and I prefer gold guns, or at least gold part son guns, barrels, frames in most cases, some cyclinders, etc.. and it can be 17 to 25 gold bars for one gun!! lol

But I dont use gold for anything else so.... I dont mind

I need to learn how to get a picture from my game to here so I can post my outfits, I love the two I made, they are great!!

Below is one outfit, I also use this outfit with the black smaller sombrero I forget what it is called, I am going to get a pic of it later and my black outfit too, this one looks amazing though, the sides of the pants have gold emulates on them and they match my guns

The black sombrero looks even better with this outfit.
I am still trying to figure out how to save 5 outfits to my horse, as you can see, this pic says storing 4 of 5 outfits on your horse, so I know it can be done, R* told me they are working on it.
