It's a topic I've thought about a couple times, and pretty much the only one on this forum that hasn't been brought up yet. Surely most of you know that you can take pictures and upload them to R* Social Club for the public to see. Do you think they can somehow pull that off with Red Dead? Maybe instead of a phone camera, the player can just snap a picture of anything they want to, without their character actually doing anything? Something like GTA's video editor, but with pictures. I feel like Snapmatic was a great way to capture memories and cool things in GTA Online and I'd be pretty disappointed if they completely ditched the idea in Red Dead. I still enjoy going through my old gen Snapmatic to remember the good old days. Thoughts?

Well they did have cameras back then but I am not sure how portable they were. This one is from 1892:

I mean this could be something attached to your horse and used to take pictures. What would be cool is to take it a step further and have the pictures show like pictures back then. They can have it go through a filter by default and the pictures will look like this:

But you will also have the option to have them look how you see them. Just a thought.

For me, I don't care either way. This isn't something I would make use of so if it is in the game, I won't bother with it. If it isn't in the game, I wouldn't miss it. I guess this is great for people who like to share things online in terms of what they are doing in-game but I never got into social game sharing like that.

I haven't really seen many people talking about this but I am interested in seeing if they use this or something like it. I know they will have screen shot options.

I never did like using the phone in GTA V myself but it worked and I used it a few times. I'd really like a them to include a photo mode that is similar to Assassin's Creed: Origins.

Agreed. This is brilliant. Anyone not familiar with it, just watch the video. This doesn't need to be something "in game" like using an actual camera, it can be a feature that can just be used anytime. I think this would also be great when you are exploring to remember areas.

The AC thing is cool but this is something that I never needed myself. I don't share pictures or stream, it isn't my thing. I guess it would be good for players who do like to use this feature.

Yeah to be honest I still prefer shadowplay and just recording my own personal clips. We didn't really have a choice in AC:Origins when it came to sharing (because I'd choose not to!)

Just make a screen capture option on the controller and have it be uploaded to your Rockstar account. Easy peasy. Most people don't use these kinds of features.

I can actually see this being how they handle it. Or even an in menu option off of a pause.

From what I have been reading elsewhere, not many people even seem to care about this feature anyways. You know they would complain though if it isn't included.

With the way systems work these days where you can share anything right to social media, it really isn't needed in game. I think this is why people tend not to care.

For me, anything like this is pointless. Unless it directly ties in with the story or a mission/quest, I likely wouldn't even touch it. I have taken maybe 10 pictures with my phone in the nearly 10 years that I have had a cell phone. I won't be doing it in a game lol
