Red Dead Redemption 2 Gets New Trailer This Wednesday

At long last the information drought is coming to an end.

On the 2nd of May, this Wednesday, Rockstar Games will show off a brand new, official trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2, hopefully giving us a glimpse of the gameplay side of things and providing more details about the game overall.

The announcement of the upcoming trailer re-confirms the October 26 release date, so this likely won’t be paired with the sour news of another delay.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has two trailers so far. The first was released on the day of the game’s official announcement, showing off several pre-rendered scenes peppered with in-engine footage. It didn’t really reveal anything about the game, other than the fact that it exists and will have an abundance of horses and gruff monologuing men.

The second trailer showed off the protagonist, Arthur Morgan, while also confirming that the game will be a prequel to Red Dead Redemption by including the returning character Dutch, with whom Morgan will work together during the storyline. It also showcased more, as of yet unnamed, characters as well as snippets of cutscenes from the game.

Since then, nothing new has been revealed about the twice-delayed game, and fans have grown restless in that time. The only source of new info was an unsubstantiated leak, with some of the information in it seeming legitimate enough while other things not so much.

In any case, on Wednesday, we’ll see more of the upcoming title.

After one announcement and one story trailer, plus two sets of screenshots, it is about time we get a glimpse of what Red Dead Redemption 2’s gameplay will be like. Hopefully the trailer will show, if not a full gameplay scenario with UI and all, some footage of the game that isn’t a cutscene or isn’t scripted.

The new trailer will be released exactly at 11 AM Eastern both on Rockstar’s website and on their YouTube channel. It’s high time we got some more details to chew on, and with the release date of Red Dead Redemption 2 approaching, it’s time for Rockstar to kick off a steadier stream of information and marketing.

Check back on Wednesday for coverage of the new Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer.

I think we all know by now we will be getting a trailer tomorrow.

What are you expecting them to show or not show? Will we get more information on characters and story or just more filler?

I don't think we will see anything having to do with actual gameplay yet but I do think we will be given more depth as far as Arthur goes and maybe some more information on a few other characters.

I would think gameplay would be saved for E3, when they know the whole world is watching.  Then again I am just a gamer and not billion dollar video game manufacturer.

When have R$ ever been at E3?

People keep saying there will be no gameplay, and I heard this with the GTA5 and even GTA4 trailers, but there is ALWAYS gameplay, just not what people are expecting. By gameplay you are thinking the standard view, either behind in third person or first person, but Rockstar always include gameplay as cinematic, meaning it is from a different angle so it looks more like a cutscene.

Examples are all the way through trailer 2 - the opener when he is kicking out the fire, then immediately after when he is on the horse, then when he is on the horse walking through town, then riding through the snow, etc etc etc etc.

This is all gameplay, and I don't understand why people don't get that and keep asking if we will see gameplay. Maybe if they put a map and health bar in the bottom corner or something that will help.

Will we see gameplay? YES

He was likely referring to having a direct influence during the game, not panning the camera or watching a cutscene. Come on now, this isn't Tumblr lol

Soon chaps, soon!

Hoping for a few seconds of game play but not putting money on it. I'd like to get a glimpse of something special that they have in store that we've been speculating about for what feels like forever (that ISN'T online) to wet our appetites and really I think all of us just want to be re-assured that another delay isn't on the cards (nothing worse then a new trailer followed by another announcement that they're adding extra polish or something so it'll only come in November).

Wasn't they there for the 1st RDR?

Correction, a friend looked it up online and the article he saw, 2009 was the lasts time Rockstar was at an E3 and that was about the game Agent.
