First thought: This looks like a mini computer.

Second thought: What the hell is this name? They really couldn't think of something better? 

Are we to call it the XSX?

My mother has a computer that looks a lot like that. I mean... Is this what they were going for? I feel like the design could have been so much better.

I think whoever is in charge of naming Microsoft's console design must have an endless supply of herb to smoke. Grad they announced it!. I don't want to wait untill E3 before I start figuring out which next generation console I'm going to purchase.

Like it says in the article, they want it to "disappear" into your entertainment center. I personally don't share that philosophy, I want something that jumps out and says, "Check it, this guy has the new Xbox!"

I was hoping for something with a glowing green X on it or something. Maybe it is just me, but I am a sucker for lights. That is something I miss from older consoles. They focused more on the look of the product.

Not a fan of how it looks. Just looks too basic. I get where they are going but people like showing off their investments, not hiding them away. This is the reason LEDs in PC builds are so popular.

If I am going to spend $600 on a freaking console (assuming that will be the price when it drops) I want to show it off. I want people to notice it like you are saying. WTF are they thinking? The market is mainly made up of straight men and boys who like showing off what they own. They should have let Elon Musk design the case... Minus it breaking when a rock is thrown at it.

I donno guys, I think it looks good. It reminds me of my fridge which I am very fond of. 

Joking aside, the style may not be that appealing to most people but it is designed in a way to be more about functionality than looks which to me is more important.

I mean it doesn't look bad and I agree with you, I only care about how it performs. But this is important to a lot people and I can not fault anyone for that. I hope they release more information about the specs before E3.

I will overlook the style of the console if and only IF the specs are good.

If it ends up only being slightly better than the Xbox One and looks like this, I will do a hard pass. I care about looks myself.
