Humor Aspects

This is a topic we really haven't touched on (I don't think). When it comes to the game and general play, be it interacting with characters or just things you see happen in one of the missions, what kinds of humorous things would you like to see?  Like obviously this is an old western game like the last one but there were funny little tidbits here and there that happened or things characters have said when interacting with John.

I found the opening of the Red Dead Redemption II Gameplay Trailer quite humorous, I think they'll be a fair amount of dialogue and situations that make us laugh but in my opinion Rockstar are very good at not going overboard with the humour so that the story and dialogue feels more natural and grounded in reality.

Red Dead Redemption had some funny moments whether they be during side quests or the main story, they weren't too common but all felt natural and not forced in any way.

They might have the odd one-liner dropped into dialogue with some of the characters. Uncle, for example, in his bio it says "If he wasn’t so entertaining, Dutch would have cut him loose years ago." so i'm expecting him to be one of the more comedic characters. Humour is not really something I look for in a game though personally.

I love the odd bit of humor within a game.   LIke in RDR, there is one NPC  (I've only seen him twice in all the years I have been playing),  who is standing there just taking a piss, all drunk lol I have seen him once between Armadillo and MacFarlane's Ranch, and once in Cholla Springs I believe.  Anyhow, it was funny as hell the first time I saw it, I laughed hysterically.  I hope there is at least a few things that make me laugh.   I used to love shooting deer while they were flying through the air, as several times they did a complete somersault in mid-air and it was just funny to me.  I have a feeling that any humor in the new game will be smart ass comments from NPC's and what not.

Like randomly shooting the horse out from under unsuspecting riders so they faceplant.

Or lassoing some random person passing by on a horse and dragging them along with you.

Hey, if my camp needs a cook, then that's how I'll acquire one.  Preferably one with all his fingers and toes--no need for "secret ingredients"

Well, this topic turned dark pretty fast...

I am not sure what kind of humor I would like to see. I don't want it to be overly saturated though. A bit of drunk humor and one-liners every now and then will do.

It's not sad, it's one more thing that makes you beautiful!

The combined facts that there isn't an in-depth Blu-ray for this move, that there has never even been a knockoff direct-to-video sequel, AND that I kept the vcr (Shut up! YOU'RE old!) on loop with this tape in on the TV in my dorm for a large chunk of college is what is sad.

That said, humor is subjective. My hope is that they'll stick with a dark gallows-style humor like Red Dead Revolver, and those who get it, get it, and those who don't, just assume everything is really grim.
