  1. I am quite happy that we only have one again, personally I think Arthur is a cool character and I’m looking forward to learning more about him, the same for the other characters as well.

  3. Thanks for your feedback. I know i should play the games before i rate them, but trust me, i watched a lot gameplay/reviews/news and so on and im sure my knowledge is enough to judge about GTA. (I also listened to many opinions of friends and youtubers or game-magazines) Btw i the end of the last rdr2 trailer they spoiler the topics of the next gameplay video (wich will be released at september 26th i think). And of of course R* isnt stupid, but the publisher Take2 is very money-focused. Thx for response.

  4. GTAV is a totally different game and I have confidence that R* realizes that what may have worked there, won't necessarily work in an RDR environment. We've already been told that certain elements will be different like the radar system. ......which will only show other players in the immediate vicinity. Personally, I'd save any feelings of angst until the next teaser trailer releases which I believe will cover multiplayer. In either case, I don;t think R* is stupid enough to attempt to create a GTAV:O experience in RDR2:O. In either case, I am sure there will be different online features for those who prefer a more coop playstyle over PvP. You say this will be your first R* online experience? If so, I have to ask..... What are you basing your judgement of GTAV online on? Yes, there is a lot of griefing/silliness but in that game, it is actually encouraged and (like it or not) it fit. However, RDR2 isn't the same and I don't see R* treating it as such.

  5. ....agreed. I'm also sure this was feedback R* paid attention to from GTAV and will try to adjust for in RDR2. Given what they learned from GTAV, perhaps they can set up a more realistic economy in RDR2.

  6. I'm actually very confident in R*'s ability to deliver a good product here. I'm glad they don't simply try to mimic GTAV's components to try and create another success but actually seem to want to build a unique experience true to the RDR series. .....at least that's the impression I get from the interviews, marketing and everything we've seen so far. After 30+ years of gaming, I rarely fall for hype these days or anticipate that a game will be great before I actually get my hands on it, but this is different for me given R*'s track record. I trust they will do it right and that I will enjoy the character(s), gameplay, activities, etc.

  7. This is a given. Also I heard that his beard grows and you can shave it how you want it. If it's short, for instance, you can't suddenly choose to have a long one, you have to wait for it to grow. Kinda cool.

  8. Just don't overshare, @MementoMori. Otherwise you end up telling people about the time you vacated your bowels in your pants at work as an adult, like I did. Edit: gotta get that past the filter, right @Cokeyskunk?

  9. @BropolloCreed79 so true. And lets not forget something important: the title "red dead REDEMPTION". Redemption, even though is a universal concept, it is perceived in a different and in a unique way by each individual. Therefore, it is posible to develop a story about the search for redemption by a group of people...but you would loose immersion and could not create empathy with different characters. The search for Redemption it's lonely...

  10. Any act done out of selfishness shouldn't be pitied but I do agree, I feel for the family and the friends who lost him. He was foolish. I will never understand why people take such a huge risk for drugs. You aren't just messing with your own life but the lives of everyone who cares about you.

  13. Back in the day, it wasn't uncommon that an outlaw considered a good guy in one territory and the bad guy in another. Wyatt Earp had history before becoming the great law man we know today. Billy the Kid, Jesse James, both well known outlaws. Both was known for being kind to those they fought for, yet had no issues about committing crimes. Many country icons had questionable histories. In RDR, the sheriff knew about Marson. Yet had no issues in using him to get things done.

  16. At first, I loved the idea of playing as John at the end, it just makes sense to have it go that way but the more I thought about it, I grew sour of it. @TheDragonfly44 made some good points that I agree with. Like it is just too easy for them to write it out that way and really, there would be no shock factor or surprise to it. It has been noted that this game will highlight the hight and fall of Dutch's gang so we will see people turn on each other and leave the gang all together. Surely not all of them lose their lives.

  17. Never knew there was a welcoming thread, and although I am a few weeks late to this I still welcome you! Alas, I too am a Xbox owner, who Is currently in denial about the lack of console exclusives. At least we will get rdr2 dlc early right? Never mind...

  18. I am thinking there will be two endings and one will be where Arthur indeed remains alive but the other one, he will end up getting killed. I mean there is also the chance that he gets arrested and thrown in prison but how common was that back then? I really don't know. I can get not wanting the ending to be predictable.
