Hey dude I watched your video and noticed you have the follow camera on. If you go to settings > Camera > Camera Follow and turn it to OFF or Minimal I made videos to show the difference. I hope this helps you or anybody else who watches it, I much prefer this setting off and to adjust the camera myself when its needed.3 points

The outcome is that, you have to catch it again, so I left the area, went to my camp with Dutch and Co and slept for a few hours and then returned to the spot where the Legendary Fish was located and bingo, it was available to catch again, which I have just, at this very moment have done, hence the delay in letting you all know. Many thanks to you all for not severely mocking me even though it's hilarious as hell and for all your suggestions which helped me immensely. Now to catch some more Legendary fishes. Thank you all once again.2 points

Literally just figured that out yesterday when I was tinkering with my UI settings to set up a photo of a corpse wall comprised of O'Driscolls. I have to say, playing the game with nothing on the screen (not even a mini map) and using the companion app instead is absolutely something everyone should experience. The immersion is frightening if for no other reason than how gorgeous the game is.2 points

Well good luck! I almost caught my second one this morning, but I got frustrated (should've been getting ready for work) and broke the line...2 points

Online has been confirmed for this month, fingers crossed they'll launch it with a patch for the pro .2 points

To the users that say we don't have a life and things like that, a lot of people including me bought a ps4 pro just for this game and spending 400€/$ is a little fortune especially for the ones that don't have a steady income because they are still going to school etcetera. So in all honesty I think we have the right to speak about our frustration without that people telling us to just buy a Xbox one x or to chill down.2 points

I suppose I phrased it harshly because this game means a lot to me. And I'm honestly disappointed that they half assed it. I say half assed because it perfectly describes the game. They were phenomenal half way, and left the other half basically unfinished. The game had so much wasted potential it's depressing. The characters and acting were incredible, but we barely got to interact with them. Even Dutch! One of my favorite missions in the game was a fishing mission with Dutch and Hosea. Imagine getting intimate and unique scenes like that with all the gang members whenever you wanted just by approaching one of them and asking them to come to town with you. We could have taken any of our outlaw family hunting, drinking, watching shows, robbing... It would have strengthened our connection to these characters tenfold. The fact that R* never even considered that is embarrassing. They gave us an amazing world and robbed us of any real connection to it.2 points

Although I might have phrased it less harshly, I tend to agree with most of your points - many elements of the game were over-hyped and left under delivered, the economy and shopping quickly becomes almost redundant, and some of the rpg mechanics, like weight control, seem poorly implemented. But still, it's an amazing game which I have great fun playing, and it will give me many more hours yet. I have high hopes for online, too2 points

Personally, I have no interest in the exploit. It takes away from the gameplay. Funny enough, I've found that looting provides a wealth of valuable tonics, jewelry and other items I can sell to fences for a tidy sum. I actually try to seek out gang camps and ambushes because of this.2 points

I'm in search of the animals that you spoke and some more that I discovered that are missing, later I make an update in the post, thank you: D1 point

Correct. The one you drop goes to the horse. Furthermore, it seems you can only have one of whatever type of gun you have collected on your horse inventory. And only the most upgraded version of it. Any lesser version of it won't be in the horse's inventory. So for example, I have the Cattleman Revolver. I've upgraded it a bit. I go out shooting with it and kill someone. I swap out their worn non-upgraded Cattleman Revolver and leave my upgraded Cattleman Revolver on the ground. My upgraded version goes back to my horse inventory. If say a few minutes later, I find another type of Revolver and swap that out and leave the worn non-upgraded one on the ground somewhere, then that worn non-upgraded Cattleman Revolver won't show up on my horse's inventory. For my upgraded Cattleman Revolver supersedes it. And that upgraded one will be the only version of it available on my horse's inventory. At least that is what I've noticed so far. So in other words, I won't lose my upgrade progress on a weapon.1 point

@sega https://gameranx.com/features/id/164435/article/red-dead-redemption-2-how-wanted-levels-work-how-to-avoid-bounties-crime-guide/ "How To Avoid Being Recognized (Red Eye Icon): Before committing a crime, you must put on a mask. Arthur is always wearing a bandana, so lift it up to cover your face. You must cover your face somewhere hidden. Don’t let people see you doing it. Sometimes, the simple bandana isn’t enough. You can purchase large hoods and masks from the Fence, and equip them from your Horse Menu. You may also need to switch clothes. Select a “Crime” outfit and equip it to your horse inventory. Change into this outfit when you’re about to commit a crime."1 point

It took me a while to figure it out. I never really used it in gunfights because I was so focused on the action. I played around with it while hunting, and now there really are no gunfights. Good use of dead eye means you kill most of your targets before they even draw on you. Practice with animals (also helps you get perfect pelts) if you're having trouble. Birds are great for it if you can spot a group. At the very least, you don't have to worry about being shot at.1 point

Hello everyone, As you will recall from my previous post, I work for Rockstar. I mentioned before that this specific issue was brought up and then pushed aside because there were other priorities. Recently, this issue has again resurfaced and I would like to clarify a few things that have happened and what the plans are for the near future in regards to this issue: - This issue was brought up and finally escalated last week to the relevant teams. - They got back to us and it's been verified that there is absolutely nothing we can do in the short term in regards to this issue. A fix would likely take 6-12 months, and might never be done. - The next patch will address bugs that affect both the Xbox and Playstation versions altogether. There are plans for patches after that in the next couple of months to give Ps4 Pro users more control over the graphics settings, but it has been confirmed by our specialists that it would only minimize the problem and not solve it. As always, your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated. Thank you.1 point

Finished or not, I think it was a good move to wait on the online because of the story mode. I feel like if both were to come out on the same day, I would feel rushed.1 point

Would anyone else like to see a more intense mode added to R* games, where essentially there is a penalty for failure - ie if you die, you don't just respawn, or get to restart the mission straight away. Not necessarily perma-death (although that could be an option), but something where perhaps you had to cover medical bills for a surgeon/doctor who "saves you" when you die in game. I actually mentioned this in another post, but thought it could stimulate some conversation so I created a new thread. Let's say you "die" in game, and perhaps you can't cover the bill, so you have to do something like a barter to pay your fees, or you get a credit note where the doctor says "this is the last time I can help you for free", or you owe a debt which you have to repay. Or would this be too hard to implement (at least well) and get in the way of gameplay...I suppose it could add a real challenge as like a new game+ feature. I know we all try not to die in games, obviously, but something like this would create an extra sense of urgency to stay alive, to plan ahead, and perhaps play even more realistically. Big battles would feel more epic and dangerous, with real peril. There would be an incentive to make sure you plan ahead, think through every potential encounter etc.1 point

Greetings! I just got this game and have been playing it for a few hours but there is something i cannot understand. Im on ps4 and it says tap the X button to make the horse go faster. Ok i do that and it stays the same speed. It also says hold X or tap X to make the horse go the same speed as someone near you. I do that and the horse comes to a stop a couple of seconds later. The only thing i have gotten the horse to do successively is go fast for a few seconds by tapping the X button maybe 6 times in rapid succession. So the horse does not seem like it is working as it is supposed to be from what i can tell from the tool tips it gives me. Does anyone have this issue or maybe you can suggest to me what i may be doing wrong because i have been trying to mess around with it to see what i may be doing wrong but i dont know1 point

I found that confusing too, don't worry, it can make sense, they just didn't explain it well ... There are basically three horse riding modes, one is near camp, one is with people, the third is by yourself. 1) Near camp the only speed is SLOW. 2) With other people you are essentially riding as a group, and you can indeed get moving and then press and hold the "X" while you are at least second in line following someone else in the gang, but that won't work if you are first in line. You can move up in line by double tapping "X". When in doubt, just hit "X" lol. 3) When it's just you and the horse and you are riding out in the world, I'll tell you how I do it, and you can take it for what it is. I use the 1, 2, or 3 tap method. While pressing forward on the left joystick ... 1 tap - this is where I tap the "X" every stride of the horse, tap, tap, tap, tap, and that makes the horse go very fast, but it also slowly loses stats and pants, this is the stride when you're running away from a pack of something that you simply won't be able to survive, and also when you just want to get somewhere in a hurry and you know the horse can rest when you get there. I also do this when the horse is still just to get it going, then lower back down to 2 tap. 2 tap - this is where I tap the "X" every other stride of the horse, tap, pause, tap, pause, tap, pause, tap, pause, and that makes the horse run at a sustainable stride without losing stats, but it won't let the horse recover stats from 1 tap, for that you have to switch to 3 tap until stats recover. 3 tap - this is where I tap the "X" every third stride of the horse, tap, pause, pause, tap, pause, pause, tap, pause, pause, as the horse is running, and this is sustainable indefinitely, but is a little slower than 2 tap, and is really good for letting the horse make fast progress while recovering from 1 tap. To stop the horse no matter what speed it is going, just stop tapping, and stop pressing forward on the left joystick, and it will slow down and come to a stop.' Pay attention to the ring around the lightning bolt symbol, if you are doing the 1-tap above you'll start to see the lightning bolt blink and the ring move down, that's your horse getting tired ... you'll hear it panting. Hope that helps.1 point

Yep, I’m on horseback right now and just notice a weird darker border at the bottom of the screen. I might be going crazy but do you see that darker border near the lower edge of the screen?1 point

For me the reason is the checkerboard taa is using a resolution of 1080p and the checkerboard rendering has a resolution of 2160x1080 To discribe checkerboarding taa: The image is divided into rectangles. Now it gives a big doubling effect if the rectangles of the taa and the rectangles of the checkerboard resolution have a different size of rectangles. Here you can see what checkerboard is doing. https://www.neogaf.com/threads/checkerboard-rendering-standard-rendering-and-upscaling.1330505/ No it has nothing to do with the tv settings. My tv is calibrated, with a calbrating tool. Look at my last video postings and you know what I mean. Sure it has something to do with the cable, It has something to do how heavy your friend raised up the sharpness on the tv. But increasing the sharpness gives not a better image quality. This is a software issue. I´ve tested red dead on my asus g sync moitor with 144hz too. My monitor is full calibrated and uses 98% of the real srgb colours. Why you are writing this again and again. You makes me mad and angry with your postings. Why this thread has 50000 Viewers Why. It is cool for your friend that he had no issues, but i think his tv can more increase the sharpness. Modern tvs not using this big amount of sharpness. It is the combination of checkerboard taa, checkerboard rendering and motion ****ing blur. This is the problem and not our highend premium tvs. Please write nothing more in this thread. If someone of rockstar is writing your comments, they will think. Hey it is a tv problem. All this guys have wrong tv calibrations. No words of this anymore ok.1 point

I will show you two videos that I found about bad TAA implementation A newer example from shadows of the tomb raider switch to 2.40 miin and you can see why I think it has nothing to do with the checkerboard rendering. This is native resolution.I think they use a checkerboard taa on the pro to push performance. On the X they use the quality TAA.It can be that the checkerboard resolution and the checkerboard TAA impacts each other. THis can be the reason for the inconstantly blu effect. You can see in the tomb raider video the taa kills all the detail. I´m playing it in a widescreen resolution without Antialiasing. It looks horrible.1 point

I have been wondering about this myself though. Do the legendary fish act the same as animals? Meaning, when you kill a legendary animal it automatically shows up at the trapper. If you catch a legendary fish and have an issue like poor @Slayer Fan, does it automatically show up at the post office or with Gill? 🤔1 point

From what I read, he did much, MUCH more to her. He basically built his channel (temporarily) around finding creative and inventive ways to kill her, like putting her on train tracks and tossing her off bridges. Not saying it's right or wrong to censor him, but there's more to the story. YouTube is owned by Google. Google is a very... progressive company, so I could see them closing the channel for that. I don't know. WIll PETA have enough pull to shut down my channel on YT over the multiple "Suicide by Horse" videos I'll be posting soon? (I've already started). I mean, I"m punching the horse on purpose to initiate suicides, but if I don't get too many views, I should be fine.1 point

Hey all, I wanted to make this post to get things off of my mind, and I wanted to do this thread so people can discuss about this. Okay, so I've noticed a lot of people are targeting Rockstar and criticizing them and pointing out their flaws. Honestly, I don't mind the talk of things Rockstar did wrong in the game, but why not talk about the things Rockstar did right? I am so tired of people pointing out flaws, and complaining more than my 3 year old sister does. This game is amazing, is it perfect? Absolutely not, but neither was Grand Theft Auto V or Grand Theft Auto IV, which both are LEGENDARY games. But, let's stick to the parameters of this discussion. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a great game, and most people can't see past the minor issues this game has and it's an absolute SHAME. I see more people criticizing rather than embracing this game. This game has so many more positives than negatives, yet people are complaining about them like it's the end of the world, and won't give Rockstar a chance to improve the game. Yeah, this game has been in the works for a very long time, can't you see that in the craftsmanship and detail in the game along with the amazing story? The Red Dead series has improved in so many ways. The hunting is far and beyond what it use to be in the previous Red Dead title, the customization is far more better, the motion capture is amazing, the gun play and horse riding experience is absolutely phenomenal. All of these good positives in the game, and yet people complain over how long missions take, and how horses can't run in between trees? Come on guys, half of the games these days can't even meet half of the expectations Rockstar's games has from their fans. Most games now a days are released with the same exact thing with almost no improvement in their own series, filled with micro-transactions, and HELL some of them don't even contain a FREAKING campaign with NO beneficial message. Before people start saying I'm biased and I'm only defending the game, well I hate to break it to you, I AM defending the game. Most people walk all over this game because they have complaints everywhere on the littlest things, and it's a shame how the littlest things ruin the game for them, when this game beats and demolishes almost all of the games released this generation. Not every game is perfect, and I understand videos games are subjective. Some people may not like the game because of the change in pace, that's fine. Some people may not like the game because theirs so much cut scenes, and you have to be careful about the lawmen attacking you, and you have to keep an eye on your health, and you have to hold medicine and things so you can revive yourself and help your horse, that's fine. It's a different type of style of game, this isn't a fast paced Call of Duty shooter, or a Fortnite game. This is a wild west game where things are slow, traveling takes time, and things are way different. But, when people walk on this game for the smallest little detail of error, they automatically hate this game so much to the point they start jumping on forums, bashing the game, and start attacking people with rude remarks, and hate filled comments, that's when things REALLY gets to me and shows where the gaming community has landed. Whatever happened to the appreciation of innovation? Unreal. I've been playing video games all of my life, and I will continue to support studios and games that are actually good and worth playing, because that's the heart and soul of gaming. Most people are so into fast pace, super competitive games, so much to the point where they can't respect a different genre of games. I would always give credit where it's due, even if I don't like the game. I honestly didn't like Skyrim when it came out, but I still gave it credit for being a super amazing game that changed everything for RPGs. Just because it didn't reach MY expectations of the game, doesn't mean I'm going to sit there and bash on it like its the end of the world, and kill my fingers typing on forums talking bad about people, and shout out the minor flaws saying it's the worst thing that ever spawned on earth. Okay, now that most of this is off my chest, I could hopefully make my views clear to people, and maybe convince someone who hated the littlest things about the game to maybe look at the bigger picture.1 point
