Why do you need someone to change your mind? .......and why the massive font? You're either confident in your assessment or not. Doesn't matter what the rest of us think. Ratings are mostly subjective anyway based on our own expectations, experiences, likes and dislikes.

Last night talking with another player and he asked if I beat the game yet. I said no, I am trying to do as much as I can in one experience. He then tells me that he beat it in under 48 hours. He then wants to brag about how he finished it before me. I personally don't care I am enjoying the game. So other then being rude. Why is it players feel a need to rush through the game? By the way, he did no side missions, hunting, fishing, or anything else that was not part of a mission.

So last night I was fishing in CatTail pond just north of Wallace Station. Used a lake lure fishing for a northern pike to finish the survivalist challenge. There was a Bull Elk creeping around the pond that was getting unusually close to me while fishing. I was battling the pike for a minute or 2 when the elk charged into the pond and head-butted the fish! Arthur thanked the Elk and the fish easily reeled in after that and it was kinda weird looking northern pike that Arthur called Jean Marc or Jean Luc. It then only gave me the option to throw him back. It freaked me out a lil bc I like to smoke my vegetables while playing Rdr2 and thought I was hallucinating. Anyone else experience this weird glitch??

Excuse me?! This thread is focused on a particular issue which we deem an actual significant one. And you come on here accusing us that this is the only thing that matters to us? How do you justify such a statement? This is the only issue DISCUSSED HERE. Big difference! And explain to me how the VISUAL APPEARANCE of a game is somehow unimportant when a large portion of the gaming experience is centered around VISUAL PERCEPTION? Why is it that game industry is investing millions into better VISUAL technologies? Because from a purely gameplay point of view, only incredibly rudimentary visuals are technically "necessary". You are accusing people for being childish because of an issue that is ruining their gaming experience. And you are calling them childish, "grow up" because YOU personally do not perceive this issue. Now tell me again, who really needs to grow up? Ironically, YOU are the one acting like a self-obsessed, entitled CHILD! We are legitimately addressing an issue you have absolutely no business commenting on since this issue is not relevant to you, apparently.

I wouldn't make that assumption about side quests if I were you. You might want to do them as they appear as some are chapter specific.

I've had discussions with people that do that as well. It's certainly not something to brag about as they're missing so much of the overall game experience. Sometimes I'll just sit in an area hunting a specific animal. I'll have my baits and plenty of arrows and just move around a small area for hours on end taking in the sights and sounds and generally having an awesome time. I'm thinking its mostly the younger generation that's doing this mainly as a means to get to a MP element. Since there isn't one here yet it really makes no sense to just do the main campaign missions and nothing else. I plan to run through the story multiple times, I'm being nice for my first game but I'm being a killing machine for my 2nd!!!!!

ROCKSTAR GAMES SHOULD TAKE TIME AND PATIENCE TO DEVELOP RED DEAD ONLINE.

Please, no posts anymore that 1080p fixes the blur issue. That is not a solution for a ps4 pro gamer with a 4k tv.

I, like you all, have been annoyed by the lack of enhanced graphics on the PS4 Pro. It boggles my mind how this could have even happened. The first example of a developer making the visuals for their game WORSE on the pro. And which developer does it? The one with huge resources, staff, and who spent 8 years developing the game? Wow. Anyway, I have found that changing the output to 1080p sharpens the image. Of course, this is not a fix. Rockstar should fix it. But, set to 1080p on a 4k TV with upscaling: I think it looks pretty damn good. I also have the HDR on. I find the lighting to be better, but I set the HDR level to 250-300, despite having an LED TV. The recommended 100 level seems to dark for me. Also, I increase my TVs sharpness way up to 70-80. This really makes the details on arthur pop, I find. Here are a couple snapshots taken with my Samsung S8+. The first one shows the 1080p output image, and the second shows the checkerboard 4k image. I prefer the first. I think the textures on the walls in particular are much clearer and sharper with the 1080p image. 1080p Image, with high sharpness on TV. Checkerboard 4k, with high sharpness on the TV:

For a game that took 8 years to launch, it came with serious problems, not only with blur and graphics problems. I already did missions and then went to play again and had to do the missions again, because the automatic save did not work, not to mention that for 3 times my horses simply disappeared, horses that paid a lot of money simply disappeared and were changed by the standard horse. several times I had to select an item and repeat 3 times to work. These are very big problems that were ignored in the reviews. I know the problem with blurry graphics is just one of many, so I do not expect a quick Rockstar solution. For sure they will prioritize problems like missions where main characters disappear from the game and other problems. I do not speak English, I'm using google translator.

Yeah..... The N, S, E, W indicators are also a little hard to see. Perhaps putting them on the outside of the ring would have been a better choice or another alternative. As for confusing them for an "X", not really but they can tend to mask them at times. I run with the minimap at normal size and then expand it when I'm looking for kills, etc. Easy enough to tell at that point for me.

Daytime, around noon, sunny weather, southeastern islands (see the map MorganKane posted above). As soon as you drop and skin a few of them, do a manual save and EXIT the game and then reload and do it all over again until you have what you want. If there aren't any egrets there, save and exit anyway and see if they spawn. When you get to the spoonbills there's a really good guide for farming them on Youtube but I'm too lazy to look it up. It's the same method but with a great spawn point. Seriously, f*ck that tedious mission.

I would double check to see what Main missions, the yellow/gold ones, are still on my list. You can also see them on your map. But you might have to zoom out, and scroll around the map, to see them all.

Opps! Thanks for the heads up. Another play though doesn't sound too bad. Though I wish there was a way to speed through the tutorial. Now that I think of it, I think I do have a save at the very beginning of Chapter 2. This was showing a friend how the beginning of the game goes.

There are some genuine issues with the pro version and if you dont want to contribute, get lost. You have been the most annoying person on here by far. Some the things on here ARE rubbish.. tv modes etc wont fix the blurring. The sharpness slider is only meant for 1080p mode and tricking it into 4k mode etc is NOT a fix. And yes sharpness or screen quality is that issue, basically the whole point of this topic. When im and numerous others are getting headaches from the 4k/SS Mode, something is wrong. Trying to trigger someone with the baby comment is just immature.

I feel ya. Oh - the gambling challenges - how I hated those! Rant indeed! Even though I lucked out compared to many - they were damn painful and took ages.

It took me about 60 hours to finish the main story of the game. I left alot of side quest for after the main campaign. I mostly stuck with side missions that where tied to Arthur. Camp mission...And stayed on track with the main story. Hung around camp alot too.. For me, i don't like putting off main story missions for too long. I like to play it out like a TV series. That way its still fresh. Sure as hell got my moneys worth. Can't wait to play through it again next year sometime.

Hey, you do you but I honestly believe that you should save something for after the epilogue. It's great that you're doing the challenges because they can be a bit overwhelming after the endgame (I was still on bandit and survivalist #1 after the epilogue). As for horseman #9, just take it easy. I used an Arabian and I think I had a good 4 minutes to spare. I also placed 3-4 map markers so I could easily find where I needed to put my next waypoint. Don't take too many shortcuts because if you fall it's an automatic fail. And since the area you're heading to is on lockdown I suggest you fortify the cores on yourself and your horse. Good luck!

As I mentioned the other day, I did it on about my 3rd or 4th attempt, so it is certainly doable. Skip the cutscenes, open fire on the gang while Dutch is still asking you if you want to take the lead, don't hide behind anything, just march through camp with your repeater and get lots of headshots. You need to search some bodies at one stage and I believe the minimum you need to loot is two before the game will advance. Then while everyone else is still looting, head to where the O'Driscolls come out of the woods. I chose to stay put and defend, and got my three kills with one dead eye here. Once they're dead, rush back to the area where Dutch tells you and Bill to search buildings and already be heading inside while he talks. If you time it right you can grab the dynamite about 1 second after Dutch starts speaking. Head outside and wait for the horses, mount up as quick as possible - then the next scene with Dutch telling you all how proud he is can also be skipped (I didn't realise this at first). If you grab Kieran quickly enough then you head up one of two sides of a y-shaped road junction back to camp. The yellow line then tries to take you all the way round to the left of camp and back in. Instead, you can keep going straight and cut through a back garden and just turn right on the main street through town, saving a few more seconds. Took me just over 14:30 to do it all, so I had a little less than a minute spare.

That's the way to do it right there.

I'm the first to admit how bad I am at video games. GTA was fun for a while then the turds invaded. I'm like you, I want to enjoy online but with the atmosphere of online gaming the way it is, it won't be fun. I wished there was a full proof way to differentiate the turds from the casual just have fun players...

I'm the opposite, i have more fun playing single player than online. I get too frustrated my old reflexes can't match the kids playing online 24/7 lol makes it less fun for me. Of course i'll have to check it all out when it goes online, gta5 was fun for a while.

Many reasons to race to the end. I've done it before just to see the ending, then replay and focus on everything else. This game i'm focusing on everything else first, then i'll finish the story line as i'm forced to, like My son is leaving for Job Corps next week, he rushed through just doing story line so he could see the ending before he had to leave, now he's playing through again doing the side missions and challenges until he leaves. I don't get the people that have to brag about it, what are they 10?

I don't get it either especially in a game like this that is obviously meant to be explored and soaked in. I also don't understand the bragging some do about such things as I simply don't care. It's a game and personally, I'd rather take my time and enjoy them rather than rush through. The only exception are those games I tend to find boring or annoying over time. FC5 was a good example of an open world that to me felt shallow and repetitive. I rushed through the last half and then uninstalled that mess. .......RDR2 is the exact opposite IMO so I'm taking my time.

Different people enjoy the game in different ways. Different people get different things out of games. There is no bad/wrong fun, just personal preferences. One can argue for one type of play style offering perhaps a richer or longer or more aesthetically pleasing experience than another, sure - but ultimately folk will subjectively decide for themselves.

Yeah, they still come around. Do NOT go investigating if you hear a woman crying in the bayou after dark. You won't enjoy what happens next.

Trying to test how high it could go I ended with 1.5k, Chapter 4, Saint Denis. Lost a domino match.
