  1. So I just explored half of Mexico (give or take) on foot by blacking out drunk along a rock wall across the river from Henigan's Stead where the waterfall is and the following the slope up. I visited El Presidio and took pictures of it inside and out with the in-game camera that I can save to my phkne and post here. But I slipped into the river and drowned as John can't swim south of Armadillo. This took a little while and was tedious since there might not be any horses there unlike being off-map in Ambarino/West Grizzlies from the Devil's Cave/Hidden Tunnel on my way back to Guarma. I'm just curious if anyone else has been to Mexico in this game and can tell me if there are any other notable buildings or landmarks thst I should revisit the region for. If so, I'd love to talk about them before Rockstar patches the few remaining ways there.

  2. Quite clear collor explanation. It remains difficult in practice! Your explenation brings up the idea to create a special mission option "bounty hunting" with extra bonus in time. That's the way to encourage Hostile players.

  3. My idea is to ban those players for one hour of so. And if repeatedly longer!

  4. ThIs the best answer by far! if anybody agrees please push the vote button so It can get to the top. this is very annoying issue for a lot of us! I finally caught a robin and it only took me down up and Back Again I found a Robin on my third pass, it happened to be perfect!

  6. This one NPC that was in one of the developed areas, I can't remember which city... He got trampled by like 3 different horses and stood up and walked into a bar like it was nothing. Another person, I accidentally lightly bumped with my horse dropped dead and I had the law after me. lol

  7. So this is my favorite way to have bounty hunters chase me I hop on a train headed to Bacchus bridge and watch them run off the cliff do this four five times and then I go collect all the stuff including the gold nuggets from their horses!

  8. Fyi.... Crouching doesn't make you invisible. As long as people are within 150 meters of you, they can see you on their radar and will know exactly where you are at. Your camp is supposed to be a safe zone but there are ways that other players can still grief you when your white flag is up. As far as your horse, open the Free Roam menu and then the Stables option. There are a couple settings in there where you can choose who has access to your horse. If you select “Me Only” then you should be the only one who should have access. You can also disable the option for other players to be able to lead your horse as well. This is one criticism I have of R* as they don't tend to publicize features or how some of them work. Every now and again they will publish an article about it and then it's an "ah ha" moment. I'll give you a few of my own personal suggestions I use..... Download the RDR2 Companion app. It's available for both Android and Apple devices. Essentially what this does is provides you with a real time view of the main map that you can zoom in & out on, see other players, objectives, waypoints, etc. It's an excellent tool to help keep an eye on other players, check your routes, etc. Take note of where red dots are and stay far away from them. As long as you are not wanted, you won't be visible to them until they are within a relatively close range. This gives you ample time to adjust your route accordingly and/or vacate an area before they arrive. Spawn into a region that is furthest (or at least further) away from where you intend to hang out. For example, if I'm going to go hunting in the Big Valley (NW part of the map), then I usually spawn into the New Hanover or Lemoyne. When you choose to join by region, the game seems to load everyone into that same general area. Once you spawn in, you need to call your horse, plot a quick route and get out of the immediate area ASAP. Once away from the are, just keep an eye out for red dots and other players that may wander into your radar range. Use the Posse Recruitment sub forum here on this site to find players you can join up with and/or the Posse page. You might be surprised just how many folks are willing to help a new player out and there is always more safety in numbers. IMO / IME, RDO is much more enjoyable and rewarding when playing with friends. You also have the option to block them. I don't know how that works on XB1 but on PS4 the option to block will take you to their PSN profile. There you can open the menu item with the 3 dots and choose block. This will supposedly keep them from joining future games with you and in the event one tries to continue the harrassment via messaging, etc., they will not be able to if you have them blocked. I have literally just under 400 players on my block list. Probably 2/3 of that are from RDO alone. .....most I will (what I call) proactively block. These are people that I notice who are harassing others or acting suspect. Since the title update, I will tend to block most red dots regardless. There is a way to escalate your Support ticket if you don't like the response provided by the initial interaction. What was their response btw? The camp icon colors are a little confusing now. There are two different shades of blue. After the TU, I was confused by this as well. If you are on PS4, hit me up, I don't mind spending a session showing you the ropes and helping you hunt. My PSN name is Kean_1. EDIT: Just saw your reply that you're on XB. Still, I would look for some company in that sub forum I mentioned.

  10. Good post @lumper it was fun, lots and lots of fun, i was addicted, just shy of 18 days total playtime in story mode on my first play through. but then i hit the burn out, I go all out and play something non stop like this and then it takes a lot of will power after it's over to go back and do it again. Love the game though, still think it's one of the best games ever made, just time for me to take a break and go shoot bad guys in The Division 2 tonight after work I still play now an then on weekends, doubt i'll ever play online, i don't have the patience to play with the spoiled little kids (or adults with the brainpower of little kids) online anymore.

  11. that's easily fixed by choosing your weapons before jumping off the horse. it only empties the wheel after a camp or death that i can recall off hand, might be other triggers for that. Pointless, the carcasses would rot and you'd be left with a wagon of putrid flesh. There is no "real open world" game, all games have restrictions and limits to what you can do, so does life. So yeah i guess you could say this is a "real" game.

  12. @lumper If you're on PS4 I and my posse would be happy to help you figure things out. If not, I'll try to help from here best I can. I know it can seem overwhelming as the game kinda throws you to the wolves very quickly. Personally what I did was run down deer with a lasso/knife. Only way to get perfect kills until you can get that Springfield (or in my case, bolt action). But once you have the rifle you're set for pve as far as hunting and even pvp (does a lot of damage to players fully upgraded). Pick herbs, sell them. Kill all owls, Hawks, condors, vultures, eagles as they still give more than 1 feather unlike the exotic birds in the swamps of St Denis. Kill gators, sell the big game meat you don't use. Also if you want to remake you're character, go to start menu then player and I believe it gives you the option of deleting your character. You'll still keep your cash and gold but nothing else. I can't cover all the points of your post right now as I'm at work. But I'll get back to you in a couple hours. -edit- No you can't sleep, only rest. You can't pass the day. No there's not a trapper, yet... maybe. Yes it sucks. Yes, a good portion of players will kill you, not all are "griefers" as sometimes the daily challenges want you to kill other players with a certain weapon in a certain way. Stay far away from dark red dots/players on the map. No they aren't all red because of killing others, they could have been defending themselves. But still to be cautious, just make sure you are aware of their general vicinity. Purple dots too, but you can't see them as easily. Also for $250 you can get a red Arabian horse. It's not as good as the normal one, but better than the Tennessee walkers, Kentucky saddlers and Morgans. Unless you have the ultimate edition of the game then you get a free Thoroughbred and saddle, along with free volcanic pistol and varmint rifle, think a pump action shotgun too.
