Hunting it literally the easiest thing to do in this game. If you can't provide food for yourself, this may not be your bag. It is beyond easy. No need to have a free handout service for food. I'm sorry but it would water down this game even more. This isn't a knock on anyone , but it is totally unnecessary to have this . That is like me starting a Go Fund Me so I can get a Turkoman.3 points

They do so you have something to spend your money on. Gives you reason to continue to grind.2 points

I wouldn't call it help but enabling laziness. No child left behind, everyone gets a gold star for participation. This isn't like real life where people have varying leg ups in life. There's ways to be nice without this food store thing.2 points

He's not saying that he shouldn't express himself. But as this post is an example, he is trying to fix a problem that he creates. To me it just sounds like he wants handouts and everything "right now" seeing as how he would like to buy the high rank stuff with real money to avoid the grind. Which is a huge problem in most MMOs. Grinding for the goods is a staple of an mmo, if people don't want to do any of that then I'd suggest not playing MMOs. Also gonna note that all the times NPCs in single player offered free food you got robbed or ya know.....2 points

Please dont. I dont want to hurt anyone here. just stating my thoughts. I saw him struggling with problems that really arent problems what so ever, getting frustrated. The game is what it is and (hopefully) will never be hello kitty island adventure. It's not that im saying for him to leave or that he is not welcome. I respect him as a person as much as i respect anyone here... cmon we r adults. At least most of us. He's idea of sharing makes no sense what so ever for me and looks like a lot of dev work to implemet such system and for what ? Did they share food in the Wild West? Were there boxes with meat on the trails? I would love to see gold mining (panning) for gold an option, would love to be able to sell crafted potions and remedies to other players, would love to have gambling in saloons.2 points

There is no reason to implemet this imo. Animals are everywhere. If You manage to kill all of them in a spot zone just run away a bit and come back they spawn again. What is the point in sharing those ? Even good to leave animals to rot - it attracts birds and whatnot to the carcass and you can kill em too Puting a 3 star turkey on Your horse is a waste of space. It only gives You one $ - there are animals that get You twice as much. No offence but i've been reading Your posts for a while and i noticed that You tend to create a lot of artificial problems that haunt You in some way - maybe this online game isn't for You? Now this is how I play as well. I kill every animal i see. If it flies it dies, if it crawls it dies, some fishes in the water ? boom goes my dynamite. Even if i have full pelts, paws, tooths, feathers etc and moving to the butcher to sell em i kill every animal i can on the way - its xp. I run stuff over with my horse as well coz its funny and gives You xp. Hell i run ppl over for the achievement. I dont shoot blue dots unless i see some suspicious sh*t. Not that im a bad person irl. Its just a game and im making most fun of it i can while maximizing my xp and money gain.2 points

So, I was thinking, and yes I submitted it to R* feedback. It would be nice to have a food share. Today for example, I had to make a choice and in the end I had to leave a 3 star turkey on the ground to rot, instead I noticed a blue dot near me, so I sent him a note and told him, if you want it, I am leaving it here, on the road. I cant see wasting it. then it occurred to me, it would be nice to have several designated food share locations, where you can elect to send your extra food, or a way to designate it to a player. Player trading and assisting should be a thing, with all the hunting we do, it just makes sense. I thought maybe leave a food share bin at several locations around the map, or have an option that allows you to either designate an item for the local share or to the nearest players. that way a player can alwasy check a food share to see if there is anything in there he or she needs and also be able to use those pelts and carcasses we cant carry, this could also be rewarded with an xp or honor boost for taking part in contributing, or low honor for taking from it, I dunno I think in there is an idea.1 point

plant locations are the same... animal spawns would be similar locations but FAR less spawn rates1 point

Maybe they are only able to feel good by getting to kill outside of PVP since they are not good enough to play against the normal PVP enthusiast? Lets pick on someone I know I can beat?1 point

I ask again how are you suppose to deliver unwanted carcasses when you dont have any room on your horse ? Problem solved aka this wont work and rockstar would never allow a method of helping others getting easy money, everything seems to point the other way. Option 2, steal a wagon and load it up Option 3, my favorite, pile them up and throw a molotow And dont forget its still a game and may not reflect how you live your real life 100% like me, im usually a Nice guy who doesnt kill cops or birds1 point

Not all of us are good people. And I have no issue with that. If you are in my posse I will gladly help you out. But to help randoms? Hell to the nah. Does that make me cold or callus? Maybe....but again it is just a game not volunteering at the local Soup Kitchen.1 point

Given GTAO was exactly the same I'm sure it was a conscious decision not to have any character dialogue from the outset in RDO. If they had put it in there would just be endless complaints of lack of variety to the responses or phraseology or differentiation/customisation for the accent. It's a can of worms I can well imagine they just wanted to keep closed.1 point

Ok no need to get angry here. I have a diffrent opinion. Nothing else to add here really. 10/101 point

No, he's just trying to be thoughtful of others, looking for ways to help others rather than being a selfish prick like so many others I've seen and I commend him for it.1 point

I played regular Showdown(not large) last night for about 3hrs. It pops up pretty often in that series. That seems to be the only place I see it pop up on a consistent basis.1 point

Developing outfits for Cripps doesn't come at the expense of developing game functionality you mention - they would be completely different company resources working on them. And as said above, some people appreciate that level of customisation in a game. I'm not one of them but each to their own.1 point

Yes, exactly this is what Im saying. as I pass even npc's on the road it would be nice to say hello there, nice horse, lol whatever, something, and yeah man in those missions it kills me the guy isnt programmed to say anything, I mean they know he is saying yes or no, and usually yes. It makes me think, as detailed as this game it, they just ran out of time and some things had to ship as is, and I think this is one of those things. It would have taken a lot of effort and time, then again, someone spent that time programming stuff so we can buy Cripps and outfit, that person might have had their time better served working on character responses. And that brings me to my other thought These are the type of questions I would love to be able to ask developers, I think it would be great, if they would dedicate one person to social media for just this purpose. Once a month either release a video statement of hey this is what we are working on and also we have recieved many questions from users so we are going to run through some of those and try to answer them on this video. Especially a game like this with so many things going on, updates coming, the whole beta thing, plus the sp stuff, etc.. I just think once a month have that or even better have a video Q&A once a month on their youtube channel so people can join and ask away, some feedback from R* as we progress would be great and would also show us they are listening and working on stuff, and maybe they have a reason that we never considered and by explaining it to us we would all have a better understanding of what they are up and hope to achieve. I know its a lofty request, lol but this game has changed the genre, and many aspects of it, so why not change everything and give us an ear, so we can interact with the developers a little more and they can share with us and we can share with them as we do with feedback. Personally I think it woudl go a logn way calming folks down over waiting for updates, and when the Beta will end and the actual release will begin1 point

I wouldn't say most who have voiced concerns about the subject would agree that open participation missions would be considered "griefing" per se. ......although I would say that there are have been folks who will tend to lump most people who complain about griefing into that camp. Personally, I don't particularly like the randomness of being chosen as the target since sometimes I'm trying to do something at that moment and it can be a PITA. Also, I find the missions boring as most times the pursuer is usually quite far from my location so it's easy enough to avoid them. As for targets becoming sour, I will say that I have had my fair share of pursuers that have done that too after successfully defending myself. After the mission was over they would keep coming because they were upset I fought back I guess. ....it goes both ways.1 point

I was going to ask. That rdr2map is great, I keep a laptop next to me on a table so I can see it as I play, so if I am ever stuck and frustrated looking for a certain mt path or cliff etc.. I can just pause and zoom in on the map on my rdr2map, it is very helpful. Ive never played a game where I used a map, or device to assist outside of the game, but this really made the experience better for me, that map is great and if you buy the full version for $5 you can save notes, your progress, decide to show roads or not show found items or not, etc.. very well put together app/program1 point

This seems to be an app version of the extremely useful rdr2map.com. Nice find!1 point

Some of the ones from "the Boy" are pretty fun too although I feel like beating him to a pulp. ......and Shaky for that matter. It's like talking to a tweaker.1 point

All of the above except the part where it involves griefing others or being griefed. ......and no, I don't consider it "griefing" during missions, assassinations or even random encounters gone bad.1 point

Well that was quite a read, so thanks for that. Let's see. First, no I am not trying to create problems for myself or complain at all, lol. I enjoy the game very much and feel it is very detailed, so I like to think of ways to add to that experience,. To me it is all part of living in this era in this place with these people., Sure they are make believe, this is all a game, I know that, but I am playing it to escape for a while to experience life as an outlaw in 1899 or thereabouts, so why not enjoy it and try to help others? I do believe in helping others, especially new players. Think about this, if every new player that came along at this point saw the problems with this game and decided to bail how that would effect us all, the game needs players, all players of all types, so if you dont agree on something or find it useful, that is ok, just move on, you are allowed to skip a post, and if you disagree, you can express that but remember it is not my opinion vs yours here, it is an idea, lets let those who like the idea cultivate it, they arent hunting anyone. I appreciate your concern for my ability to enjoy the game, but I want to enjoy it my own way, just like you, and just like every other person, I would never stand in the way of another person enjoying this game. Not every idea is a good idea, but not discussing it, is a bad idea, from these discussions come many great things, so, if you dont like me or my posts, that is your right and I dont mind at all. We dont have to agree or disagree, there is no right or wrong here, only discuss. Whether you get my idea or think it is stupid its all good. The food share has its place and merit, your play through may be diferent than mine, but I really enjoy elevating people, helping them out, surprising them with kindness. Everytime I have 6 gators at my feet and I see a blue dot, I always let them know, they are welcome to come by and grab one on their way to wherever they are going. I know it is pixels on the ground not real, but it is a game, it feels real at times and so I want to play it like it were real, if that bothers you, I dunno what to tell ya, we disagree about the game, lol so what? You do you, Ill do me, we will both be fine. Im glad to see so much discussion, while we wait for things to improve. you never know what might come of it, but there are no bad ideas or thoughts, as long as hey remain ideas and thoughts to discuss. It isnt about feeling bad for the imaginary animals,it is the experience of feeling like, wasting perfectly good animal carcasses just doesnt sit well with me, and I want to be more conservative and less wasteful. In a world where earning 100$ takes a while, free carcasses you can sell for a few bucks makes perfect sense. If I looked at this game as some do, feelingless pixels I wouldnt be so passionate about the game, Rockstar created an incredible world for us to enjoy, we have an obligation to do our part to imagine the rest and feel apart of the time period, otherwise why bother with all the details and awesome graphics? May as well play a mmorpg on your phone. ( I have no idea what an mmorpg is) sure you can chose to reduce it to its dumbest common denominator and see it only as a shooter, and hey there are game modes within this game that allow you to do just that, and those are really fun, and thats fine, but I see it differently, and I am not alone, so why not take my advice and live and let live, if you disagree, thats fine with me, but why tell me about it? In Free Roam it isnt like any other game, maybe the GTA series since it is the same company I suppose, but this is the evolution of these games in this genre, so some people migth not get he idea of playing the game like we are really living in this map, I try to do just that, and sometimes things like wasting money pop up and I have a thought, lol that is why we have forums, to talk about these things. I dont care that you disagree, lol just go back to the game and skip my post, better yet block me if you dont like my content, it is your choice, I am talking to like minded folks who also have god ideas and we enjoy the idea of "what could be" or "why is it like that" sometimes and i is nice to pay devils advocate sometimes and discuss said things. After all it iis a role playing fantasy game with incredible graphics and amazing details, it makes me think about living in the time, and if I did you can bet your butt I wouldn't leave dead animal carcasses everywhere feeding the vultures and worms, I would probably use a cart, lol but since that is a tough thing to repeatedly do in RDR2O the next best thing is to share the animals with other players who I see out hunting near me, and guess what? they like it too and have taken the carcasses so..... it works.0 points
