As the old saying goes though, "It isn't work if you enjoy what you are doing." And often times in the PvEvP debates. These types of players will tell you if you don't like it, quit or switch servers. I agree and seeing how I find myself playing with randoms more and more on these type of games. I find it harder and harder to find like minded players who just want to play to have fun.2 points

I think Rockstar should fix the glitches. That being said, I will not let the cheaters impact my game. I will continue to grind to obtain the things I want in the game. Just because they cheat to get it doesn't impact my game. It isn't like they are getting a leg up on me by doing so.2 points

Mic/Headset required. Committed to * Exploring and enjoying the game *Strategically extracting points from spontaneous missions, story missions, hideouts, overtaking other players/posses' missions, and daily challenges. I like variety. Have you ever scored 1017 or 973 on a story or stranger mission? It's thrilling *Exterminating, extinguishing, eliminating, blowing away, vanquishing, demoralizing Griefers. *Leveling up. Players who ride and have ridden with me achieve 1-2+ levels per day. None of it works unless everybody is on-board with teamwork and willingness to a go along with the plan of the moment. But it's not a dictatorship, I will listen to and ask for suggestions of what-next. I'm not afraid to give stray cats the boot. The Name: blue hair is a u.s. expression describing an elderly person. Blue Hare is a play on those words. I am retired. It is also a combination of my two character names: The Grey Hare - Now Level 130 When: Early U.S. Central time to accommodate Western Europe; 1130AM U.S. Central The Blue Hare Crew--We're Taking Aim1 point

That is way to much work. Lol. If you are at that level, it might be time to put the controller down and go outside.1 point

Sounds good Keen, I haven't been doing any content either just grinding money. Look forward to it.1 point

Yeah, IME R* Support wouldn't typically say that the devs are working on it unless they received word that it's and acknowledged issue. If this does get resolved, I'll finally be able to start playing with others finally. Maybe we can ride together again if your up for it. I haven't even done any of the story missions because I didn't want to crash in the middle of one.1 point

Naw, that's good. I appreciate the advice and information. The nitty-gritty of this networking stuff was never my strong point. Thanks.1 point

Without getting too technical. Imagine you have a gallon of water to move to another gallon jug. In between the gallon jug is a container that is just a bit smaller than 1 gallon that must be moved to first. you could just pour the amount into the middle just under a gallon jug then pour that into the gallon jug. Then pour the rest into the middle jug then into the gallon jug. TCP packets can do just that. There would be an impact if you did the following as with the jug of water. Pour a cup of water out of the gallon jug then pour it into the middle jug. Then pour a cup of water out of the middle jug into the gallon jug. Repeat until all cups of water are in the last jug. The recommendation I made doesn't increase the number of packets by much if at all. The errors most people are getting point to network IP packet frame (Ping response times) issues. Not necessarily the PS or your network but maybe a bottleneck somewhere between your house and the servers location. As a side note to frame rate drops: Video resolution and cpu overload can cause game lag and video frame rate drops. A hot playstation or xbox can cause CPU to overheat and may cause frame rate drops. Video resolution could be altered to minimize CPU (GPU) overload. I hope that explains it a bit better. If not, let me know and I can send private message with more detail as to how it works.1 point

Well, last night I received this reply: ...so, it seems that according to this rep, R* knows about the issue and are working to resolve it. I will try to get a confirmation and let them know others are getting a mixed signal. However, please note that I had already gone through all of the steps leading up to that reply when none of them worked. It's possible that they have been told to do those troubleshooting steps first to make sure.1 point

Yeah, I know the attitude youâre talking about. Only I donât see them as following the rules of the game so much. I see it more of an attitude that if itâs not specifically prohibited itâs allowed. These are the guys who canât win at monopoly by playing properly, so the steal your money when youâre not looking, because well, thereâs no rule specifically saying they canât... It doesnât make them good at the game. It just makes others want to stop playing with them... The solution isnât to put a bunch of rules in the rule book and turn it into a novel trying to cover every contingency that they might come up with. The solution is to stop playing monopoly with that guy. Same with video games. The only way people who grief like this will stop is if they get banned from playing the game. Unfortunately itâs just a lot harder to keep them off the servers than it is to just stop inviting them to your game night. Even if these guys get banned, theyâll just whip up another account and be back.1 point

I suppose, if I were a griefer, I would roam the forums looking for people on the edge of quitting and target them just to see if I could push them over the edge. instead, I look for people that seem like they would be fun to ride with.1 point

The rest of us know how hard it was to get to lvl 188. I am only lvl 106 and know what a grind it was. Saving as much money and gold like a mizer until the past couple weeks. I now have a few of the things I was waiting for. The way gold and xp is going now, I may as well spend some money. Can't wait for more reasons to spend it.1 point

That is just it though, Griefers seem to only enjoy the game if they can cause others not to enjoy. I have had discussions with some who feel for them to have fun. They not only need to get you leave the server, quit the game, and/or rage for hours in disappointment. One in particular stated he not only wanted you to quit playing the game permanently. He also said nothing makes him happier then to come to forums like this and read post about players who got trounced and was so mad that they made a big statement and would leave the game. He said it made him feel that he was really good at the game when that happened and that is how he rates his gaming skills. He also told the group that it doesn't bug him when players report him. He plays using rules provided by the game itself, so they can't ban him. They have to change the rules. Not every griefer is to this extreme and I don't want everyone thinking that every griefer is this guy. Though to some perspective, many players push the envelope cause gamers have higher expectations and get bored quicker and easier. They will find ways to entertain themselves when they think the game does not.1 point

Same exact thing happened to me, but when I closed application and re-launched the game, it went back to normal and loaded fine. Maybe just keep on opening and closing application until you get it to load? I don't have a "legitimate" fix for this issue, but hey, trying different things couldn't hurt.1 point

Its kind of like a cheat tho. It gives players a free aim/punishment bubble. Sure, playing defensively, its nothing.. But using that against other players to troll or kill them, makes it like a cheat, compared to someone whos not using it. I don't think this offensive/defensive modes changed anything at all in terms hostile players acting others. It just gave players more ways to mess with other players. Funny thing is. Defensive mode, Its almost like R* is punishing actual free aim player. "Yes.. you can have free aim, but NO shooting other players" Or its back to the auto aim gulag for you!1 point

Woah, hold on! . I don't play on passive, at all. Here's one thing we agree on --I, too, like the sense of a good challenge, so I do not change to defensive because I feel it defeats the Wild West Theme (that's just me). A lot of us aren't getting to triple digit lvls because we were on passive mode --it was just recently implemented. I think the option is there, and rightly so, because it encourages more people into RDO. FYI, no worries, btw, I thought we were having a healthy chat, you didn't offend me! đ Very, very good point! I think implementation of consequences for being a magnum dong, and griefing everyone, is a great idea. There are THOUSANDS of games where PvP is the core of the game, a Wild West game that gives you options to hunt, fish, and possibly farm, shouldn't be on that list. This is why there are separate events, like Showdowns and whatnot. They created such breathtaking sceneries, took a lot of time adding a huge database of animals of all species --surely there's more to this game than just PvP, you know?1 point

My point was, I like what Rockstar is trying to do, even if itâs not perfect. Trying to implement measures to reduce the type of behaviour I was describing while still leaving room for the element of risk. What I didnât do was accuse you or anyone else in particular of any behaviour whatsoever (like you seem to be doing to me). I gave a broad description of a type of play that seems to be recurring problem in the game (especially early on). I donât see the point at all in the random killing. Whatâs the motive for shooting a guy in the back of the head while heâs stuck in a fishing animation? Itâs not even robbery since you canât loot anything and you canât call it a challenge since the guy has no ability to fight back or likely to even be aware your there without his mini map up. What outlaw in all of history (even Hollywood history) set up on a rooftop murdering random people that walked into a store all day? And all without a thing to gain for it? I can see if you were laying an ambush for someone in particular, maybe a rival gang member, or a trap for a dead or alive bounty target. This game has the potential to be so much more than just a western shooter and it even has game modes built in to accommodate the needs of those who feel like an hour or two of pure combat. RDR has the potential to grow into a full fledged western RPG, with reasons to be hunting players Down, or get hunted down by others, ways and methods to raid each otherâs camps. Perhaps our persistent posse system can grow into something where rivalries get tracked and the passive/agressive/bounty systems donât apply when you come across a rival posse member. Maybe the bounty system can grow into something that rewards another player who successfully captures another player with a bounty and successfully gets them to the sheriffs office in one of those cage wagons, all while fighting off the targets posse and rival bounty hunters... I just want a fleshed our world where there are reasons and motives as well as risks and rewards for the PVP elements. If I get murdered, I want there to be a reason for it. I want a meaningful incentive to make me think about hunting someone else down. As much fun as an open world fight can be, I donât want it to become a 24/7 purposeless death match all over the map. I donât want this to become GTA Old West. Maybe my vision for what this game could be is just different than yours.1 point

Yeah, Iâm really got to disagree. To me itâs not fun to be spawn killed by a guy with 100 levels on me making it it impossible to accomplish anything. I donât âfeel the winâ when I make it to the butcher without getting shot in the middle of town for no reason, I feel the âthank god there are no di*ks around to screw with my very limited gaming time todayâ. You want an endless gunfight, and thatâs ok. Thatâs why they have showdown modes, where you can actually be challenged by people focusing on killing you and nothing else, instead of the challenge of sniping someone in the back of the head who doesnât see it coming and isnât expecting it... the encounter I gave above is my idea of the acceptable risk from PVP in the free roam world. An outlaw with a motive trying to take what he wants, not a psychotic dickhead taking cheap shots.1 point

Well, the other day I had a PvP encounter that I most definitely would not call griefing, and fits within the âanything can happenâ , âitâs the Wild westâ PvP element of the game. I had just shot a 3* elk in the middle of nowhere. As I was approaching it, a blue dot appears andcomes over the ridge. Well, there was some confusion over who would be skinning this elk. There was a fist fight which I won. Then a little gunfight, which I lost. I tried to chase the thief down, but I just couldnât. I got robbed by an outlaw fair and square, a few minutes of interesting encounter to break up the grind. I was attacked, but for a reason. The other player had a goal, stuck to it, and it didnât dissolve into a 45 minute impromptu death match. There were no mid animation cheap shots or excessive spawn killing. I believe if the average griefer behaved like this guy, there would be very minimal complaints and there would be much less call for things like passive modes and private lobbies and the PvP element wouldnât need any major overhauls... Unfortunately, the average griefer seems to confuse being an outlaw with being a murderous psychopath that needs to spend every second of online time killing everything that moves and finding every way possible to keep others from playing the game at all.1 point

I had same problem not so long ago. Till lvl 100 i had only ONE map from hideout's. Did something like 80 then. For the last 2 weeks tho i get a map almost every day and im only doing max 4 hideouts per day. I even got a map from NPC ambush. The system works strange.1 point

LOL.. Was playing last night, and i got 2 Gang Hideouts, both dropped Treasure maps.. So, maybe R* saw my post and felt bad? đ1 point
